  • Practicing Meditation Changed My Life - How Meditation Will Change Your Life Too
In this video, I go over how meditation has changed my life and how meditation will change your life too, as well as what you can expect by starting or deepening your own practice. No matter the length of your meditation practice, I firmly believe that meditation will change your life if you commit to a daily routine focused on consistency and patience. I specifically go over three domains in this video: 1) Personal development, 2) emotional mastery, and 3) metaphysical understanding. All three of these domains are ways meditation has directly changed the way I experience life.
It's important to understand that getting results from a meditation practice is going to take time. While there are numerous benefits, (extremely powerful benefits!) meditation is one of the longest paths you'll travel which will often involve backsliding or exponential jumps in quality. Through these ebbs and flows, the very fabric of your experience will slowly transform into a space of authenticity, presence, clarity, honesty, truth, and love.
I hope this video can help inspire you to either start, or deepen your meditation practice.
    Much love,
    ~ Ethan

Been doing 20min everyday here, pretty epic - I know an hour would take things further.
Even 5mins helps, technically, but 20min got more prominent results and a real drop in anxiety and ruminating.
I believe meditation helps people get more things done, less just thinking about what needs to be done.
Observing the mind unconditionally allows something more authentic beyond the thinking to flourish.
Something more advanced than a sense of self.

Hello, I have been meditating quite often these days and started my journey a few months ago. I often have spiritual moments where I think, "Wow, is this what meditation is doing to me?" During these times, I feel motivated and believe everything will change; I feel more alive. However, it's not always like that.
Today, I spent the entire day in bed, doing nothing and feeling bad about not doing what I need to do. My flat has been a mess for a few days now; everything is dirty, and I've been too lazy to clean up. It's 1 o'clock now, and I'm procrastinating instead of working on my presentation for tomorrow.
I've procrastinated my whole life, but in the past, I would be stressed out at the last second. Nowadays, I don't feel stressed about doing nothing, but I also don't feel good about it. I want to accomplish the things I'm trying to do, but I think I hate failing and being bad at things, so I distract myself. I would say since I meditate I become more calm while prograstinated "better" buts not that what I think is the way I want.
These are my general thoughts on the matter, but I'm not sure. I feel lost, and my life has been going up and down insanely. Is this maybe what you meant at 4:35, or did you mean something different?

Thank you so much. Really happy to hear you're finding yourself back on the path. I definitely plan on making more videos... I'm kind of in a tough life situation right now so I've been taking my time with releasing content. I'm also trying to deepen my own practice so I can speak from a genuine integrity and authenticity about this topic. I will definitely keep making videos, and overtime I want sort my life situation out as to find a way to release much more regularly, and in depth.
Again, thank you for the support and really stoked to hear you're back at it.

So happy this helped. Yes stay consistent! Those negative emotions will heal themselves when we hold them in the space of mindful awareness. A subtle smile during meditation can also be a very powerful teacher. :)

All very good, but the benefits can be categorized by 1. Various benefits in the relative field of life: restful alertness, clarity of mind, etc, and 2. tapping into he Transcendental field of pure Consciousness in the state of Samadhi. In this state, one experiences Sat-Chit-Ananda, the domain beyond the mind. For both TM practitioners and those not, you can experience That pure Consciousness (Sat-Chit-Ananda), by accessing "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sound Choir", and "Om Namah Shivaya - Shivananda Adi". Listen to each for 5 min per day for at least 2 weeks.

The garden metaphor and quick scene was brilliant -- just begin, and a bit later, you will have a rich garden!
The busy mind calls himself I, and this newer, calmer self, for whom silence is also a word, calls himself I. Increasingly, I notice which one "I" am. Of course, I admire the second one. But I am swept along by the first one, even though I see that he receives his energy from the silence out of which the second one emerges.

    • @ethanschaltegger

I am not enlightened. However, I can't say enlightenment is separate from my experience.. I don't know how else to describe it.

@@ethanschaltegger is it even possible that you'd feel anger or hatred towards someone?

    • @ethanschaltegger
      @ethanschaltegger  4 года назад +4

@@we3s508 These emotions can arise yes 100% but... I also recognize a couple of things. 1) Those emotions are routed in selfishness and ignorance. If I *truly* understood and embodied the existential reality of the situation which generated the negative emotions, the negative emotions would never appear in the first place. 2) The I who normally thinks of itself as being the one who feels anger or hatred towards someone is not who I actually am. I am witnessing, observing these emotions, and therefore cannot be them. Just like I witness and observe clouds passing and going in the sky. I am that which does not change. So are you :)
SO if these types of emotions arise, just let them arise, and dissipate. The nature of all experience is that it arises, reaches a peak, and then dissipates. All we can do is just let them come, and let them go.
However all that being said, I can still get triggered yes haha.
