Are we gonna talk about how the boss was so nice to Casey and told him to take as much time to recover as he needs and then Casey just punches the crap out of him
Well, there's a train of thought that the guy was pretending to be casey's creind so he could get him to work overtime constantly.....but i think the greater truth is: Casey was being an asshole. The sensei was an asshole. This sort of comedy is in fact designed to be found "funny" by belligerant assholes, of which there are a great deal, thus making for an ideal viewing audience.
i thought this was because, if he is no longer their to audit them they might be able to get away with more stuff, so it benefits them to have Casey at home
I saw this film a while back and it easily became one of my favorites. It went from serious, to funny, to a "woah..." while remaining uncanny the entire film. This video makes it pretty funny though despite the film giving a different feeling. Definitely recommend watching even if this video has already spoiled it.
The end was great. The movie makes you forget he ordered that a while back and then a certain amount of time passes and he has that out. A literal embodiment of the trope. And it leads directly to the reveal that the one finger technique was probably something else and implies something about the fate of the last master.
As a someone who Master 1, 2, 3, 4, fingers or fist, I'm truly amazed how he Master 1 finger and that he can put it in the bloody hole, he truly respect his opponent. Usually you need to wait for 4 to 7 day before the blood is gone, before you fight the opponent. What a monster.
Either the secret finger technique was a lie, or it did involve a gun, which ironically would explain why Sensai never wanted guns on the premises or claimed using them made you weak, because he is the one that killed his sensai using said technique. Honestly though, both the sensai and the one student that killed Caseys dog deserved all they ended up getting. I also have to believe the one guy that was the blue belt that "showed up without being told to" showed up because he was the one person that wouldn't harm or kill a guy, and was tricked by his sensai to come in, or possibly again by the same guy that killed Casey's dog to come in.
The villain in this story is kind of equivalent to JOHN KREESE of Karate Kid but the old master he murdered with the gun was probably this story's equivalent to MR. MIYAGI so of course the bad guy in this story had to resort to a gun.
