JDF has so much love for Power Rangers. To this day he tries to do PR stuff. He even did the BatintheSun RUclips channel’s videos for Green Ranger vs Ryu, and White Ranger vs Scorpion
There was an old Beatles urban legend that Paul McCartney was dead back in the sixties. On an album cover he was out of step with the other Beatles. This was a myth. He was actually out of step because he is left handed. But at 14:31 we see an old MMPR poster. Trini is out of step so to speak. She is the only one in a punch pose. The other members who are in the front are seen kicking. This is an eerie parallel to that old urban myth.
We've all heard the story of how it went down. Actors Austin St. John, Walter Jones, and Thuy Trang felt underpaid and seeing as how the show was very popular, it only made sense to them that they were worth more than what they were making. Of course their course of action backfired and they were replaced. However, I just watched this video: ruclips.net/video/wiDOO7hPu3k/видео.html and noticed that they started to promote the movie while the entire original cast were still on the show. Which really made me wonder, how would the show and movie have gone if the 3 actors stayed or if Saban had complied with their demands. I'd love to hear your ideas, but I think it would've gone down a little somthing like this. The movie was said to start to go in a very different direction than what it ended up going due to rewrites and recasts, but I think it would've stayed mostly the same with the exception having all 6 of the iconic rangers which I think would've made a bigger impact, due to Rocky, Adam, and Aiesha just recently being released in the show and now bam they're in a movie. Plus, I have to wonder why Austin, Walter, and Thuy didn't decide to stay at least for the movie thinking that the success from that would benefit their paychecks. True, there was tension behind the scenes between Austin and Jason David Frank and it's been said that he was ready to leave the show around the time the white ranger stuff happened, but I hear Austin really needed money and felt like he was making what you make at McDonalds, you would think he would've thought "Hey, I'm gonna be in a movie, and if it's well received, I'll make some big cash from that. So i guess I'll at least stay til that happens." Kinda a head scratcher there. I know we don't know the full story, but that thought occurred. If it was enough to convince him to stay, I'd assume Walter and Thuy would've too. That would mean the show would've gone differently too. I'll admit the original cast had better chemistry, but as a kid and today I grew to like Rocky, Adam, and Aiesha. But I do wonder how the show would've gone. Maybe some interesting rivalry over who deserves to lead between Jason and Tommy? I'd assume Zack would eventually confess to Angela that he's a power ranger since he's always late to dates, and I don't know much of what would happen with Trini, maybe some stuff with Richie if he stayed...I don't know. But I do think the character developing and arcs would've continued with the original cast. That was one of the problems with the show as it continued, while major events were happening, there wasn't much in terms of character building and interpersonal relationships aside from Kimberly and Tommy. I do think the show could've turned out better than it did, but I'm still happy with how it did turn out. With the transition to Zeo however, if everyone from the original cast stayed up til this point, I think we would've had a serious problem. Having Jason come back as the gold ranger is basically what saved Zeo's ratings and if he had been there from the start, I don't really know how it would've gone down. I have a hard time believing he'd become the blue zeo ranger like Rocky did. So this is where we do run into a problem. Although, it's possible the show would've gone in a different direction and ended Mighty Morphin differently and not transition to Zeo. So many possibilities, it's a shame we'll never know what could've been. But I'd love to hear your theories and ideas.
I agree with most of your points. I'd also like to think that they still could've done the Katherine arc, except instead of having it end with Kimberly going off to the Pan Global Games, Kat ends up getting it for her Diving Skills after being encourage by Kimberly to get back into it. As for the transition to Zeo, I agree that they likely would've just ended the "Mighty Morphin'" storyline and assuming they came back for a Season 4 (Zeo) the show would've gone in a different with a new cast of Rangers since Zeo's Sentai counterpart Ohranger was drastically different in style, tone and aesthetics from the Fantasy Trilogy of Zyuranger, Dairanger, and Kauranger. Also, there likely would've been no Alien Ranger saga, which also means no Battleborgs. As for how the series ends, it would end in a similar way Zyuranger and Kakuranger both did, with the rangers succeeding in resealing the villains back in Rita's dumpster and drifting it back into the recesses of space with the lot swearing revenge, using their power coins as reinforcements, thereby sacrificing their powers. What's even worse is that Goldar and Rito realized too late that they dropped the Zeo Crystal which was stored in the basement for safekeeping from Master Vile instead of being sent through a Time Hole. But they promptly forget about it when Rita gives birth to Zedd's baby and start dotting on it. Despite this, the villains would still manage to plant a bomb underneath the Command Center and blow it up before the rangers can back to stop it, with Zordon delivering a farewell message of gratitude to the rangers with the Command Center blowing up just as the rangers reach it. After failing to find any traces of Alpha or Zordon in the wreckage, they make a makeshift grave for their mentors and no one last (albeit somber) "Power Rangers" fist-bump high-five declaration. After that, the Rangers attend their High School Graduation Ceremony and go their separate ways. Kimberly goes off to Paris to be with her mom and step-father, Trini goes studies to be a veterinarian, Billy enrolls in MIT, Zack heads west to make it big in Hollywood, Jason enrolls in the military and Tommy . . . has no idea what the heck he wants to do. But the very last shot we see of the very last episode is of the wreckage of the Command Center. However, the Zeo Crystal rises from the ground and causes the outer shell of the building to miraculously reassemble itself implying that maybe Zordon and Alpha are still alive, which also implies that maybe . . . just maybe . . . the Power Rangers will one day rise again to take on a new threat. Going into "Power Rangers: Zeo", Tommy and Katherine are now attending Angel Grove University and make new friends with their respective roommates, Adam, Rocky and Aisha (or Tanya if you prefer) just as the city is once again threatened by evil space aliens . . . the Machine Empire. In an echo to the premiere of "Mighty Morphin'", Zordon and Alpha teleport the Five College Kids with Attitude to the newly constructed Power Chamber to become the Zeo Rangers to fight this new threat. The rest of the season would mostly play out the same way as it originally did, except without Billy as the tech support and without Jason becoming the Gold Ranger. I believe the originally plan for the character was to have him be played by Brad Hawkins, star of the recently cancelled "VR Troopers". And for the two-parter that ultized the footage of the "Ohranger vs. Kakuranger" team-up, it would involve the original cast coming back again to reclaim temporarily repaired versions of their powers in celebration of the franchise's overall 199th and 200th episodes. As for what I'd replace the Zedd & Rita's Camper of Evil subplot with . . . I'm not sure. Probably something to introduce Divatox and her pirate crew for the fifth season, which would instead be a Second Season for Zeo since "Ohranger and Carranger" both have the same color scheme for the team, their weapons and their zords. I don't know if that's too much but I've thought about this myself. You think any of these ideas have any validity?
@@landonsantini365 well, your ending for the mighty morphing saga was pretty much what I’d imagine. As for the rest, it’s hard to imagine anything different from what we got but your ideas are legit. Nobody really liked Rocky or Aisha. They weren't bad but they didn't have the same energy as Jason and Trini. Adam is the only MMPR to really surpass the original.
@@charaznable9209 I liked them fine. The problem was Saban and the writers didn’t give the characters much in terms of personality and character development because there was always a chance that they’d leave. The idea behind Power Rangers in the first place was anyone could be in those suits. It’s sad really because it was the original cast that gave the show so much life and Saban didn’t really see that, all he cared about were the numbers they were bringing in.
I really enjoyed it behind the scenes that you just did I really enjoyed it. I really wanna get my hands on the red book the history of the Power Rangers.
Yeah, at the time it was called Cybertron. Of course the name had to be changed for obvious reasons. 🤣 Here's the pilot reel for it. ruclips.net/video/Px52AkqelEk/видео.html Brad Hawkins, who played Ryan Steele in VR Troopers (also voiced Zeo Gold), was going to be the white ranger. The popularity of Tommy was just so high.
The Green Ranger and Tommy are by far my favorite. I love Tommy. After all these years I never truly figured out what made Tommy so special, and this is coming from someone who loves The Green Ranger. Help me out here, what made him so special?
As someone who grew up in the Disney era (I wasn't born when the early seasons aired), I met Tommy through Dino Thunder, so I don't have a strong personal attachment to the character, and therefore my opinion may be extremely biased. But I've honestly never understood what made him so special either. I've rewatched most of the series lately and, while it's remarkable how much he's been through over the course of his career, I never saw much complexity to the character after his introductory arc. If I had to guess, I'd say people have him in such a high regard mostly because of their memories growing up with him for years due to his long-running stay in the show, and the milestones he broke, more so than because of the character himself. What I mean is that they talk more about the experiences he lived through (such as being the first 6th Ranger, the first evil Ranger, the first team leader that wasn't a Red Ranger, being part of the first romantic couple, etc.), more than they talk about him as a character. Don't get me wrong, his long journey is remarkable, but I think you could've given that arc to any other character and it would've made the same impact. And his personality and qualities don't really stand out to me that much when most other Rangers share them too.
@@CouncilCape897 Thank you for that astute analysis. It is good to get the perspective of someone who is likely younger than me. I guess for me I will never 100% know what makes Tommy so special, but you nailed most of the important points. I want to say again I love Tommy, he is my all time favorite, if I ever met JDF I would go from 36 to 6 years old in a moment, and after all these years, I still love the Power Rangers. To me there was something almost magical about it and I can even watch it today and love it. I would love to go to a a Power Ranger convention and meet my childhood heros. I may or may not still have a The Green Ranger action figure.
@@DominickSpano Oh, I get what you mean about that magic you feel when revisiting those heroes we looked up to and taught us simple but important lessons and values. While it's important to grow up, we should never forget those who lead us on the path to where we are now. And I apologize if I seemed too harsh on Tommy. Like I said, I didn't grow up with him like the 90's kids did, so I don't have a strong attachment to him. By the time I started watching Power Rangers, the show had long stopped using the ongoing style of narrative following a specific group of characters over the course of multiple seasons, in favor of a standalone narrative starring a different cast in each season. So I had many different role models rather than a particular one, like the 90's kids had found in Tommy. And since Power Rangers isn't exactly known for having the most complex protagonists, it's hard for me to find a particular Ranger who stands out from the others since they have so many traits in common. But I understand what Tommy means to so many people and I'd love to meet JDF too.
Council pretty much summed it up, but I'd say that he was able to wipe the floor with them and even invade them in the megazord just emphasized how powerful he was. Then not only to join them and later become a great leader like Jason speaks for itself. Not to mention he stayed a ranger until Turbo and later Dino Thunder.
@@CouncilCape897 I totally get it. Seems you hold the Power Rangers close in your heart. I mean if I was lets say 5 years older or younger I would likely not feel this way. For a particular group of people, the Power Rangers are special. I also love Toy Story, but the original came out when I was about 10. A person who is much young than me may not have such an emotional attachment with it. BTW you mentioned growing up. Lol. I am writing an intense doctoral disserstion as we speak, but in my heart, I am still that 6 year old boy who loved Tommy, Jason, Kimberly, and all the rest of the Power Rangers..Lol. I also loved Hercules and Xena. There really is something magical about out childhood heros.
I honestly miss when it was just the MMPR (and this is coming from a 2000s kid) because back then the Power Rangers were one of a kind, they were special. They don't feel special or unique anymore. They just feel like a bunch of faces in a crowd, and now the Power Rangers brand has been watered down so much many people don't seem to care about it anymore.
@@jomo8825 thanks 😊. Contrary to some fans I am not tired of MMPR at all and I so happy that thanks to Boom Studios this generation of comic book fans are being exposed to MMPR as every generation deserves to be.
While I believe that you shouldn't fix what isn't broken I think it it would be interesting to see future seasons of Power Rangers use purely original footage. They could obviously keep the Ranger suits and monster costumes.
Thui fit in so well chemistry wise. Audrey was good but I didn't think she looked like she was close to a teenager, some of the others in the original cast pulled off teenager better. I mean Austin was 17
Love all your Power Rangers videos man! Keep up the great work! I always wondered though, and maybe an idea for a future video, and correct me if I'm wrong but why Did Zordon have to wait for the Dino Zords to turn into the Thunder Zords? And if the Thunder Zords were already created, why did they have to wait for the Dino Zords?
I wouldn't mind seeing a complete reboot of the power rangers show. Starting again with the mighty morphin power rangers. Keep the original colours, introduce the green ranger the same way, and when the first series is over, go on a new direction with what saban was thinking of doing before going cheap with using the thunderzords instead of upgraded upgraded Dino zords. Also have a story that shows the green ranger powers being completely restored and upgraded. Maybe introduce a upgraded set of suits for the second season similar the the Bat in the Sun green ranger version. Will never happen, but would be interesting to watch.
Personally I don't think power rangers would be the same if they did complete original live action shows. I think the live action power rangers should remain as is, however I would like to personally see original power rangers shows done in animated format similar to the DC animated films or Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show. I think an animated Power Rangers series would allow for alot of creative freedom with its art style, storytelling and action without removing from what live action fans love about Power Rangers. Alot of shows do really well now with animation, even Star Wars has dabbled in it with its recent anime Star Wars Visions anthology which was massively successful on Disney plus.
I don't know where you are from '6th ranger' but the show was not on in the morning. Here on the east coast (NY) it was on after school (I'd get home around 3 or 3:30 So if I remember right it was about 4 or 4:30) Morning would be an illogical time, as then parents wouldn't be able to get the kids to school. They'd be too hyped up on watching the show and trying to mimic moves
I think a big reason it did so well was cause of jurassic Park. I remember as a kid dinosaurs were so cool then power rangers comes out soon after jurassic Park so I think that had a lot to do with it
you made mention of the costumes. any idea where the original Gold Mantle for the green ranger went? how about Rita's staff and shoulder-piece? we can see they were cheap remakes on the MMPR show, vs the Japanese version.
Explain why one picture is different than the other, and sad enough to know that your favorite actors were paid poorly when they played in the popular power rangers show. I'm a pink ranger fan.
I always wished they had done things all original so they could design new Ranger suits only when needed instead of just about every season. They could have stayed in the original iconic suits longer!
Me too. Heck I'd say the MMPR are up there with the Ninja Turtles, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men as one of my favourite Superhero teams.
The one thing your information was wrong about was that the rangers didn’t start out with the 7:30 am timeslot they actually were only aired once a week on Saturday mornings at 11:30 am as the last show on fox kids Saturday lineup right after x-men the animated series but when the shift to weekdays happened in children’s programming during the rangers first season they got moved to the 7:30 am timeslot probably cause they could get more episodes aired a week being on 5 days instead of the original one day a week which probably helped them burn through there episode count fast caused the additional footage to be shot in Japan just for our show to make additional episodes
Sometimes I wonder how successful the show might have been if we got the original rangers but with subtitles. I love Kamen rider subs, but I was more mature when I started to watch that
Wait so the guy that did the original mighty Morphin Power rangers soundtrack. It's the same guy that did the theme song for Power rangers SPD? No wonder that shit slaps so hard
Why doesn't the Yellow Fighter in "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" have a skirt? and every other woman transforming into a given Ranger in the following seasons has a skirt. Answer: Because in the Original Japanese series "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger" the Yellow Warrior was a male and the only female was the pink female warrior in the team.
Okay if that’s the question than logic would suggest the reason why the actor playing Skull did not appear b4 that point is as a man of means “rich” he somehow raised a child that was lacking in substance hence he ended up being tutored by Bulk. Or maybe Spike didn’t acclimate to wealthy society and was sent to his uncle do he’d know he wasn’t alone & reason why didn’t show up during series is that he was ashamed of who he became.

Rip to Jason David Frank. I was so sad to hear about him committing suicide. He was so nice to me, when I met him at a convention, a few years ago.
Please do seasons 2.
Awesome buddy
JDF has so much love for Power Rangers. To this day he tries to do PR stuff. He even did the BatintheSun RUclips channel’s videos for Green Ranger vs Ryu, and White Ranger vs Scorpion
they keep throwing out tidbits about the Legend of the White Dragon. really hope they finish it
Yes please to season 2 & 3
There was an old Beatles urban legend that Paul McCartney was dead back in the sixties. On an album cover he was out of step with the other Beatles. This was a myth. He was actually out of step because he is left handed. But at 14:31 we see an old MMPR poster. Trini is out of step so to speak. She is the only one in a punch pose. The other members who are in the front are seen kicking. This is an eerie parallel to that old urban myth.
Thank you for posting the video.
My pleasure ⚡
Yes, please do cover further seasons of MMPR.
i just love watching mighty morphin power rangers a lot my friend. it is totally awesome
Please review the rest and especially Turbo, that one is painfully missing.
Like I said, i wish the original six stayed for the entire series, but I’m still happy with what we got, I still enjoy the series to this day, and the boom comic run is for fans like you and me, so it all works out in the end!
@@angel_in-black I Heard The Same Thing That Austin St.John And Jason David Frank Didnt Get Along
Would love to see more of this content please. Thank you
I really enjoyed it behind the scenes that you just did I really enjoyed it. I really wanna get my hands on the red book the history of the Power Rangers.
Great breakdown of how JDF became the green ranger.JDF was also going to be casted in VR Troopers I believe as well, but chose MMPR instead.
Netflix is coming out with a new power rangers movie/ series. It will be all original with no connection to the shows before or sentai
I may or may not still have a The
Green Ranger action figure.
ZORDON ERA FOREVER (Season 1,2,3,4)
9:43 the martial arts choreography and techniques was amazing in season 1 it was pure art
now I understand how unique it was
I miss the MMPR!! GREATEST SHOW OF THE 90'S!
Totally agree!!
@@sodium285 I totally agree
@@jomo8825 thanks 😊. Contrary to some fans I am not tired of MMPR at all and I so happy that thanks to Boom Studios this generation of comic book fans are being exposed to MMPR as every generation deserves to be.
@@sodium285 I hope it don’t stop but do feel they need to put some more stuff out for the other fans
Omg I remember watching the first episode of mighty Morphin Power Rangers when I was in 1st grade. Can't believe it's been almost 30 years.
While I believe that you shouldn't fix what isn't broken I think it it would be interesting to see future seasons of Power Rangers use purely original footage. They could obviously keep the Ranger suits and monster costumes.
Rip JDF 💚🤍❤️❤️🖤
A review of the book would make a great video. Even though you have already given it your seal of approval here.
Please do videos on serpentera, the alien rangers,& spd-A squad
I still have a VHS version of Day of the Dumpster. I wonder how much I could get for it?
Thanks for video. ❤ the content
Thank you! 😁
Are you gonna do one of these for every season because this video was great
Thanks for the content and Bring on 2nd and 3rd season BTS!
Couldn't help but notice in the thumbnail that Trini's the only one in the front not kicking.
Awesome video thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video :) Please make videos for behind the scenes of the 2nd and 3rd seasons of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers :)
Most definitely need videos on Seasons 2 & 3
RIP Thuy trang
Do you have a discord Server? I feel like I get these vids delayed sometimes
Thui fit in so well chemistry wise. Audrey was good but I didn't think she looked like she was close to a teenager, some of the others in the original cast pulled off teenager better. I mean Austin was 17
Austin St. John, is the best Ranger ever!!!
Please do time force!
I really want his opinion on which is the best seasons of power rangers there was.
Could you do a video like this about Dino Thunder?
Yessssss for sure do seasons 2 and 3!!!
Power Rangers 🤍💚🖤🩷💙💛❤️
I wouldn't mind seeing a complete reboot of the power rangers show. Starting again with the mighty morphin power rangers. Keep the original colours, introduce the green ranger the same way, and when the first series is over, go on a new direction with what saban was thinking of doing before going cheap with using the thunderzords instead of upgraded upgraded Dino zords. Also have a story that shows the green ranger powers being completely restored and upgraded. Maybe introduce a upgraded set of suits for the second season similar the the Bat in the Sun green ranger version.
Will never happen, but would be interesting to watch.
Love more MMPr content please
“Just imagine if everything was original footage”
So sentai then? (I’m joking but it was the first thought in my head)
Are you going to do a reaction video to once and always? I’d love to see you do one!
Awesome!!!
I remember as a kid dinosaurs were so cool then power rangers comes out soon after jurassic Park so I think that had a lot to do with it
I really with Austin Thuy Walter were payed well and not very poorly thar would've made the rangers stay longer and David youst wasn't bullied on set
Love the content awesome as always. What do you think of mmpr vs Godzilla comic series coming out.
you made mention of the costumes. any idea where the original Gold Mantle for the green ranger went? how about Rita's staff and shoulder-piece?
we can see they were cheap remakes on the MMPR show, vs the Japanese version.
Can you Please do a video about behind the story of power rangers Dino thunder
Power Rangers did diversity & inclusion without shoving it down viewers' throats. this is the way to go.
...an actually insane statement
Now it's shoved down your throat to the point it's cringe
@@Farmer816. ikr, the cult of identity politics has overtaken good story writing, and that’s putting it mildly
I concur. They did it before it was cool. Better than being cool, it was implicit.
The diversity and inclusion in MMPR was amazing and natural. If only wokefied people would take a page from this.
Amazing. I’ll have to buy the book and thank you
Explain why one picture is different than the other, and sad enough to know that your favorite actors were paid poorly when they played in the popular power rangers show. I'm a pink ranger fan.
We need real superheroes in Reality. The real monsters are evil, and wicked people who are corrupted.
I always wished they had done things all original so they could design new Ranger suits only when needed instead of just about every season. They could have stayed in the original iconic suits longer!
Love MMPR. ❤
Thought you did a video on it already, but I would love to hear your take on Scorpion Rain.
Sometimes I wonder how successful the show might have been if we got the original rangers but with subtitles. I love Kamen rider subs, but I was more mature when I started to watch that
Good old days still watch power rangers but when Tommy comes in
I like all of the Power Rangers and they are the best of the best and l am a huge fan of theirs and they are my favorite super heroes
I just wish they would use the fights like how they used in the unaired pilot onto the current one they shot in season 1
P.s. I already looked up on Amazon no more copies of the book (not even used)available
Wait so the guy that did the original mighty Morphin Power rangers soundtrack. It's the same guy that did the theme song for Power rangers SPD? No wonder that shit slaps so hard
Anyone know where I can get the History book? Amazon is all out and it says they don't know when they will get it again.
good video
Damn, 16 hours ago???
Why doesn't the Yellow Fighter in "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" have a skirt? and every other woman transforming into a given Ranger in the following seasons has a skirt. Answer: Because in the Original Japanese series "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger" the Yellow Warrior was a male and the only female was the pink female warrior in the team.
That first yellow was black right cause that doesn’t look like yellow ranger that passed
Can you try and figure out why Jason Narvy wasn't in samurai with bulk?
Because Saban is cheap
He was in the last episode of the 2nd season.
@@saintzeroinfinity He was, you are correct about that. But I think they were asking why wasn't Skull in the entire seasons of Samurai.
@saintzeroinfinity I think you're over thinking it. Saban didn't want to pay for Jason and Paul in New Zealand.
Where can I purchase Power Rangers: The Ultimate Visual History Book.. I really want a copy. I can’t find it on Amazon
I would have assumed amazon... maybe ebay? Or just Google it?
Love your videos. I'd be interested in your review of the power rangers audio drama on youtube. Its by scyther inc and currently 24 episodes. Please review and bring some attention to this great drama
Can you do lightspeed next plz
Wish they could've all stayed for the 3 MMPR seasons, the new cast was good too, just would've made more sense to change everybody in Zeo.
