I saw skillet in August of 2018 at the Oregon State Fair. Best concert I've ever been too. They rock right from the get go. No standing around waiting for the band for hour and half like Metallica was at the rose garden.
A lot of people don't like overly raspy voices. It's dumb but yeah that's usually it. That and the fact they constantly push the Christianity thing. They're really good though

Okay, I know this will get some weird remarks but here goes. Skillet in NOT a Christian Band. Listen to my theory. A Band cannot be Christian. Only the band members can be Christian. Bands cant praise God only people can. (well angels too) I know all the members of Skillet are strong Christian believers and Love God and Jesus. But they are Christians who play music for God. It might be semantics but I don't like when people label music a certain type: country, hip hop, rock. since a Christian can sing country music will the band be considered a Christian band? no. So its the person that God identifies with, not the music and certainly not the band. Just because a singer sings "Amazing Grace" does not make them a Christian.
