When they performed this live, Tyler said that the song was dedicated to their fathers and their fathers loved going to their shows but they always complained that they had to stand the whole concert. Tyler told everyone to sit down and relax for this one song. One of my favorite TØP moments!
I love how you don't just explain why a song sounds the way it does, but you also give examples and advice on how to implement the desired sound into our own work. You always inspire people to create, thanks for that! 💛
This song saved my life. The religious themes and the open interpretation of the lyrics really helped me when I most needed it. I'm so glad it's on the setlist, because I am going to see them in June!
I love when people talk about music theory and how music construction works. It’s one of the most interesting things I think one can discuss about because there are so many options and things to discuss. Anyways, I was wondering if you had a video explaining why people find Heavydirtysoul so difficult to rap along to? Paying attention to the sounds it’s seems like there is a lot of sounds smashed together in an order that seems unnatural for one to say. Just wondering if you had a video explaining the technical terms of it. Thanks for the awesome video. Looks like it’s time to binge watch some of your other videos.
I love these deconstruction videos! Especially this one, as an Applied Linguistics student whose all-time favourite song is Taxi Cab. I didn't know much about the use of linguistics in songwriting, so I learnt a lot from this video!
i love your deconstructions- definitely a deeper and more technical approach to analyzing songs. taxi cab is one of my favorite twenty one pilots songs- it's amazing. thank you for all your hard work that goes into creating such great content. i really appreciate it!
halfway through the video: Is ThIs CliCKbAiT?¿??¿¿ lol when you actually learn about using plosives and consonants in lyrics and RUclips becomes an educational experience no wonder everyone likes Taxi Cab so much!
I love this type of videos, keep going and this song is very powerful and emotional it's my favorite song from twenty one pilots thanks for deconstructing it :))
Favorite band. Probably my favorite tøp song. I love this whole video. It’s fun to learn about these kinds of things that the general public (including myself) typically didn’t have an idea about. Or at least, have a name for.
I’m in college and I’ve never learned or even heard about this before! Wow, this was really cool and useful to know. I was always wondering why sometimes I think Tyler sounds like he raps so fast in my mind but it was actually just all the plosives!
The sound at the end of words like "judge" or "garage" is actually a voiced affricate, not a glide. Same with the end of "church", except its voiceless.
You should do a video on the interactive banditø journey! Has anyone else seen the interactive banditø journey that was linked on Instagram? Oh my gosh it was amazing!!!
I love this song so much, and I have always liked Tyler's rap, but never knew why it sounded good, it's not just that he speaks fast, because actually a lot of other artist rap way faster, but they never sound as good or as "popping"... Now I know why :) It's a rare occasion when what we can learn in schools and universities actually help us in every day life, or with something that we love like music and songs.
hey! i was wondering if you could give some of your opinions on jon bellion's new album, glory sound prep. been a fan of him for about two years now. thanks! (nice vid by the way! i love taxi cab. it made me cry listening to it live this year)
I just listened to Doubt by Twenty One Pilots. I don't know if you have paid atention to the lyrics, but the 5th verse opens with the line "Gnawing on the bishops". How does this connect to Trench?
bruh he definitely was inspired by Eminem, on cdbaby, which is the site they used to distribute self titled, Eminem is listen as one of their (twenty one pilots') influences
A brain has been watered
A tøp fan has been fed
A day has been made
Taxi cab is an actual masterpiece.
Love this twenty one pilots song. I like that style of deconstruction
When they performed this live, Tyler said that the song was dedicated to their fathers and their fathers loved going to their shows but they always complained that they had to stand the whole concert. Tyler told everyone to sit down and relax for this one song. One of my favorite TØP moments!

😂😂😂
Taxi cab deconstructed or a linguistics lesson?
Boom. Exactly. You just got educated, and you didn't even know it.
@@ThePopSongProfessor best way to get educated honestly. I think we learn and remember best when we're not intentionally learning.
BOTH. This is why I love Cliff
@@ThePopSongProfessor Your level of English nerdiness is amazing; I enjoy it so much.
so are you saying
that mac can kick cats if he's _not_ wearing a backpack
lolol! Mac is a jerk.
MAC is slang for the MAC-10 machine-pistol.
I love how you don't just explain why a song sounds the way it does, but you also give examples and advice on how to implement the desired sound into our own work. You always inspire people to create, thanks for that! 💛
This taught me more than any lesson on writing in school ever did
This song saved my life. The religious themes and the open interpretation of the lyrics really helped me when I most needed it. I'm so glad it's on the setlist, because I am going to see them in June!

You should do some no Phun intended explanations. So much gold stuff in that album.
The sound at the end of words like "judge" or "garage" is actually a voiced affricate, not a glide. Same with the end of "church", except its voiceless.

Check out my DEMA for Dummies video. I mention that a little.
I love this song so much, and I have always liked Tyler's rap, but never knew why it sounded good, it's not just that he speaks fast, because actually a lot of other artist rap way faster, but they never sound as good or as "popping"... Now I know why :)

Will you please explain the music video for Chlorine!?!?
Watch this whole video not even talk about the lyrics but instead being about how it made it onto the setlist
This needs so much more views
Ooh I love this so much.
Super cool video.
I just listened to Doubt by Twenty One Pilots. I don't know if you have paid atention to the lyrics, but the 5th verse opens with the line "Gnawing on the bishops". How does this connect to Trench?

Hey Pop Song Professor, I know you’re a Christian. Please do Sloppy Wet v. Unforeseen for the worship song How He Loves!
Twenty one pilots is my favorite band
I keep meaning to ask... where did you get that picture with all the Twenty One Pilots lyrics that's always in your background?
I felt like I was in school when I was watching this video
I actually just took a screenshot of 2:22

Do some videos on Andrew Mcmahoon in the wilderness. He even looks like you
