There is something called "sister sizing" where the cup is the same size but the number and letters change. For instance, if you have a 32C, and size up to a 34 band, then your cup size goes down to a B.

Did that once and never liked that bra. I measure as a D cup but never would I buy one, I have to get a c or b🤷♀️

Your band should fit you on the loosest setting when you buy it. The hooks are meant to be tightened as the bras wear.

Oh ladies 😞😞 after working in a professional bra boutique for 5 years. Learning every science and ascetic that comes with bras and going through very extensive training, sizing and every other little thing you have to consider. None of those bras fit either of you correctly. By all means I always recommend to wear what is comfortable but if you're looking for maximum support and a bra that's going to last you and truly be comfortable....we need to show you how to measure.......lol ❤

No one in my town knows how to fit bras properly so I have learnt a lot over the years for myself as I have a small ribcage but larger breats so have to import my bras from overseas
Any tips for me ? I have definitely grown out of my 32 D the cups floweth over lol but they are always growing so I just wear a size until I absolutely cant fit in them any more. I dont know why I am 32 and my boobs wont stop growing 🤷♀️🤦♀️

I never go by the tape measures anymore. The girl at VS measures me at a 34C when I wear a 30F😂 They measure you so that you can fit their bras, not so that their bras fit you

Same the first time i went there they measured me at a 34B when I actualy was a 34DDD and the second time I was measured(like 2 months ago) at a 36DD when I weare a 34H. Like wtf they just measure you in a way so you can "fit" there bras and make sales instead of being honest. I was realy mad because the lady adjusted the straps till it looked decend, I was realy mad and just told the lady "if you don't have my size just tell me and don't waste my goddamned time because i am not going to buy this shit" at least that shut her up and finaly she let me leave. Hope she didn't make that mistake again.
Cup sizes expand well past DD and band sizes below 32 exist as well. Most of these stores' fitting methods will place you in a size that they carry so that you will shop there. There is a ton of info on A Bra That Fits on Reddit. They have a size calculator on the sidebar as well. If you are confused or curious about bra sizing, this is a great resource. Even if you try the calculator and get a size you're not used to, nobody is forcing you to wear that size! Wear what you like and what feels comfy for you! :)

I came looking specifically for this comment! I don't even pretend to know that much but following the guidelines from ABTF got me from a 40D to a 36G. Erin and Drew, I would recommend checking out this subreddit and measuring yourselves while not wearing a bra.
From my experience, Victoria’s Secret will tell you that you’re a DD or DDD even if you’re bigger just because those are the biggest sizes they carry and they want you to buy at their store
Victoria secret is the worst place to get fitted for bras. Love their underwear, but hate the bras. Nordstrom’s is the bomb for bras and they really know what they are doing size wise
Alexis Snyder agree 100%!! They measured me 3 cup sizes too small, and 3 band sizes too big last time I went. Probably because I’m a size that they don’t sell.🙄
I got measured there once and the girl held the measuring tape 3 inches away from my chest and said I was a DD I tried on a C and it fit perfectly and the DD was wayyyy too big. Their bras are so uncomfortable as well. Honestly I go to Kohl’s. They are cheap, cute, and comfy!

Tika Anderson also they’ll only tell you whatever size is closest to what they have ie: Drew could still be a 32G but they don’t carry that size so they say a 32DD

Shit they measured me as 36D when I’m a 38DD. After going to an actual good quality bra shop, have bought another bra from them.
Truth. Big boob girl here, they totally jacked my sizes up when they measured me bc they want to make money so they’ll just tell you what sizes they have that you’ll “fit” in. But it’s not the RIGHT fit.
Erin’s VS one isn’t the right size either. The center gore should always lay flat against the skin. That one is lifted off, meaning either the cups are too small or the band is too big (ironic since she was professionally sized as a 32D, literally exactly one cup size bigger and one band size smaller).

However, Victoria’s Secret’s bra sizing is questionable.
Ash Heaven yeah, but this one doesn’t fit. Sister sizes don’t mean they’re the same fit, it’s that the cups are the same. I think the problem with this one is the band is too big, so if she goes down to the sister size 32D the cups will be the same, but the band will fit better;)

They just rejected their actual sizes that they were professionally measured at in the other video instead of accepting that the girl was right! None of the bras fit them. The cups on the Thirdlove bra were squeezing Erin's boobs and Drew has got to just accept she will never be a double D lol.

I've noticed from measuring myself (I also work somewhere that sells bras) that above pretty much gives you your band size without the need to add anything. i'm a 32 band and measure at 28 inches underneath, but if i measure above i'm 32 inches.
Could still be wrong in some cases but i think this is what they're going for?

Victoria's secret isn't a professional measuring place! I got measured there and they said I was a 32B. I'm actually a 32 DD they forced me to try on the 32B and refused to actually give me my size.

I love them. Such a comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and diverse representation in their models. Def lady friendly. Sexy bras they have fosho, but the whole experience feels more comfy and less sexualized. Depends on what you want in your shopping experience tho

I was measured at VS, and she pegged me as a 36C, and I'm a 32DDD. I tried on the 36C, and then was like, "...scuse me, can you please come look at this, and confirm that you were very wrong? 🤦🏼♀️" Haha! Band was SO huge, and cups were too small.
Tried on a 32DDD, and it was perfect. Wouldn't have known had I not tried on the wrong size first, and then another girl measured me, and found the correct size! Oops! 🤷🏼♀️

Cups allways change on what kind of model they are made. I allways go to the same store and most of the time allways and up buying the same bra.

Another vote against Victoria Secret measurements. I'm not going to mention my sizes but VS measured me three cup sizes down because I was wearing a sports bra. I told her I'd gladly take it off if someone was on staff that didn't mind measuring me without it but they were adamant that my size would stay the same. 😐 I only own sports bras and wanted my first non-sports bra.

@@aprilhaynes130 It depends on the type of style you want and how it lays on the body, which a fitter would be able to guide in that perspective (proper size, location of the wire on the side, gapping, the height of band..etc). Our top brands in our location that I can speak for are Natori, Wacoal, Chantelle. For the fuller sets...Elomi (goes up to 11D, bands go up to 46 in some colors), Fantasie (goes up to 7D) Panache (up to 10D), and Freya (30-36 bands up to 6D). Simone Perele, Dita Von Teese and Palindrome has heart-stopping, stunning lacey pieces but have not personally fitted anyone with them. Free people and Lively has fun, great bralettes.
To note, each brand has different standards, so sizing might be different from another brand due to material, elasticity, etc. Think Vera Wang dress (rigid & super tight, runs small) to idk, City Chic (exclusively for plus sizes but has xs, sm..xl) Keep that in mind, please!
Tshirt bra with molded cups by the brand to name a few would be Natori Bliss, Luxe and Conform underwire, which is also an amazing set, especially for the fuller type. Wacoal La Femme, Basic Tshirt or Betsey Johnson's Perfect Bra are great too.
PLUNGING t-shirt bra I recommend would be Natori Feathers (goes as low as a 30 band) & Chantelle Festivite.
Strapless- Wacoal Red Carpet or Chantelle Absolute Invisible
idk how I ended up writing a whole book. Sorry! thanks for reading though :) This is what I gathered in my personal experience and may be different from another fitter.
OH! and for the soft material cups that has no rigid form... Chantelle Rive Gauche, Parisian allure, or their C Magnifique...Wacoal Awareness Bra....
But basically going into Nordstrom to personalize and customize your fitting would be my best recommendation! They are all great brands specializing in lingerie, and they make tons of different styles for the millions of millions of different body types!

As someone who used to work for Aerie, I remeasured people from ALL THE TIME because they were in the wrong size. At Aerie (when I was there), it’s pretty standard to have a fitting as well to confirm and adjust the measurement. I wish you would’ve gotten measured at Aerie (and other stores) and compared who’s the best at helping find your true size and walking you through the experience. Not to mention that sizing runs a little different from store to store, and if you’re in between sizes like me, considering a demi-cup versus full coverage, there’s so much to learn. However, what matters most is what makes you comfortable and confident! 💙💙💙

Somehow plunge bras that have full coverage on the far sides help contain spillage! Those have worked wonders for me. Also aerie. My new fave
I have found Victoria Secret never measured the same or correct. I ended up finding my perfect bra at Dillards. The person who measured me there was amazing!

This video just proves there is no industry standard, like jeans. Drew trying on 5 bras in all the same size and having only one fit her confirms it. This is why we end up being loyal to brands and styles, and when the manufacturer changes our favorite brand/style of jean, bra, or panty we go ballistic. We like our comforts.

I used to work at Victoria’s Secret for 2 years, even in management and I can tell you their sizing is FLAWED. Bras only go up to DD or DDD in stores and are LIMITED, so girls will purposely tell you to size down in order to make the sell. Training is def lacking and I really would recommend trying different styles and different sizes to find what you like. Also, each bra style has different levels of push up and they all have different cuts in the front, so sometimes you’ll spill more in a bra of the same size because you are more round and the cut is too deep in the front!

As a 34G, it's so hard to find bras from the common retailers that are large enough. It's so hard and you're forced to go online but I love third love!

I work at PINK and I always make sure I ask the client if she knows the size of the bra she’s currently wearing and before I size her, I have her describe her favorite bra at the moment and how it fits her. That way I can gauge the type of fit she’s looking for and know if I’m measuring correctly when I measure her.

Victoria’s Secret uses Vanity sizing which is why they measure over the bust versus under. Also all chests are different, so one style may fit better than another even if it’s from the same store and the same size. So you sometimes you gotta just do some trial and error.

The way bras work is if you get a smaller cup size you go up in the waist band and vice versa. Learned that from Nordstrom’s.

I’ve gotten measured where they did all 3 spots and that bra fit me perfectly.
Drew needs to try Lane Bryant bras. Just because a store caters to plus size women, doesn't mean they won't have your size bra. If you're a D cup +, going to a plus size store may be the perfect place to get your perfect fitting bra. Getting a pro fitting is essential as well! It's the baseline to start your bra shopping with. Every brand makes their product in a different country using different measurements. Having your baseline gives you a starting point. You can also pull 4 different styles of bras from the same brand, and only have 1 fit. Every brand, every style, and every body shape is different.

As a qualified bra fit expert, sizing is dependent on the store/fabric since that needs to be taken into account since all manufacturers are different and fabrics have a different amount of stretch. When you try it on.. as long the the underwire is not too high up near the underarm and not too short that is pressing on your breast tissue the cup is fine.

I work at VS and while I personally never put someone in a bra that doesn’t fit it is something that happens all the time. We have to make goals and there are people that care more about selling than actual correct sizes.
THIS is why I've given up on normal bras and worn nothing but a bralette for the past 3 years at least. Soo not excited to have to wear a wired strapless for my wedding 😭 lol
For my bra size I always add 2 to the band measurement for my band size, making Erin a 34 and then find the cup by looking at the difference between the band and bust measurement 1 inch difference=A cup 2 inch difference=B cup 3 inch difference=C cup 4 inch difference=D cup and so on. If you use that method then Erin’s size actually is a 34C!
A 34B and 32C are sister sizes, so they essentially have the same cup volume aka the same size
Drew after watching you try on I think you’d really benefit from a Balconette style bra, they are meant to push in a wide set bust.
Unfortunately, bras (like most things) need a trial and error process.
I also have the same size bras from Victoria's Secret and Aerie and the Aerie one fits completely different, but in a good way. I'm glad to see I'm not the only girl who doesn't understand bra sizing.

Sizing isn't just the only thing to consider. The style of the bra also plays a huge factor. I shop at Soma and full coverage style is what works best for me. Every demi or other style and I'm spilling out. Lol
you should get measured at every bra shop you go to, as for every brand and shop your size will be different

Maybe be sceptical, when Victoria Secrets tells you you're a DD, since that is the biggest size they carry. They definitely tried to convince me of that once, when I wasn't gonna try their bras.

I got measured at Aerie at a bra measuring event and I was a full cup size up. I like how they have the girl's names for the bras so it can be the same fit but a different pattern.
I have a grey Aerie bra that has lace wings on the back. I always buy them during Black Friday sales. I'm lucky in most people don't have my size.
The formula is to find a brand you like. Target bras fit me best.
You guys should try target!! They just expanded their bra sizing. So they have the right sizes for drew!
When you don't wear bras bc you don't need them and can't relate but are still intrigued
Tip: if you are let's say 32c, you can also try 34b and it may also fit you. The cup is let's say 34c is larger than the cup it 32c . because when the band gets longer the cup size also increases. My English suck and I can't explain it very well, but if you feel like the cup in32b is too small you can also try 34b. And the cup will be slightly larger.

So one thing I learned when I went bra shopping is the band for you two probably is 32 because you are supposed to use the very end tangs because if you use the tightest ones when your band stretches out how are you supposed to adjust it? That’s why they have like 3-4 columns of loops so as your bra stretches you can tighten it :)
Hopefully that’s helpful to anyone who reads this! But someone told me that when I got measured at Victoria secret (which I hate by the way because they aren’t size inclusive what so ever for being “the bra place”)
