As a bra fitter for a UK brand I am SOOOOO happy that you did this and by eye too! Drew I said would be a 32F & Erin a 32C/D. I’m also glad she highlighted that you need to be fitted to different styles! Thank you! Best bra fit shopping video I have seen! X

I’ve worked at a bra fitting store (like this one where sizes are A-J), and we use measuring materials and we DON’T add 4 at all. Good stores CAN use a tape measure
Caroline Bundy they basically did use measurements by going off the bras they came in wearing, you gotta start somewhere, measuring isn't bad

Thank you! Sorry but my family has been in this business a LONG time and are successful and do an amazing job and sometimes you can tell by looking and sometimes you can’t. There’s literally no shame in not being able to measure with your eyes and now the million girls and woman who watch this aren’t going to trust their local fitters based off using a tape measure alone.
People also need to remember the reason most don’t know their real cup size is that most stores carry around 32A-38DD, Victoria’s Secret claims to have 30A-40DDD, but the sizes 30, 40 and DDD are rare and hard to find in a variety of styles and colors. And the general rule of going up in band size will decrease your cup size and down in band size will increase your cup size is a good rule to stick to when trying to find your size. Once you know your true size you can’t wear other sizes interchangeably though, it’s just a rule to make finding your true size easier and helps take some of the guessing out of it. So if that’s the general rule stores are going to fit you with what they have/sell, not what you SHOULD be wearing. So if you’re a true 34E then they’re going to fit you in a 36DDD and even though it may look/feel like it fits nice in the dressing room you’re going to notice by the end of the day all the issues you wouldn’t have with your true size like small gaps, back fat, band riding up, digging in your shoulder etc and your true size will fit you from morning to night during regular activity and so that’s one of the main reasons why SO many women don’t know their size.

Hayley Larsen yes I know they don’t carry some sizes in store, but that’s different than online. Plenty of customers are directed online if they don’t have the size in store. All I’ve stated was some of their sizes are hard to find in a variety of styles and colors, never once mentioned in store or claimed they don’t exist.

Lol Queen a 30DD is WAY smaller than a 36DD. A 30DD is equivalent to a 32 D, and 34 C.

As a bra maker I can concur with the “eyeballing it” method and the fact that MOST women are wearing too big band and too small cup.

There's nothing wrong with being a B though! Many women with bigger sizes wish they were your size.
I wouldn't say DD is ''really small'', but it's really not as big as people seem to think either. It probably more in the average range. Reddit has affectionately termed this ''sticker shock'', thinking a D is HUGE while it's actually quite a regular size. Honestly though, it's all relative. A 30DD is a way smaller cup volume than a 40DD.
I'm between 34F-G myself (even H in some stores), but my boobs don't look big at all. Back when I was a small E, people guessed I a B.
Another big thing is the clothes you wear. I wore dark baggy shirts when I was at an E. My friend, who was a B, wore light colored and tight shirts. Everyone thought she was way bigger than me, while it was the other way around.
Now if I wear the same type of light grey tight fitting shirt, my boobs look enormous.
Honestly though, B is a beautiful size. As are all sizes. Be proud of it!

I call BS on the "eyeball" it method as being "more legit". Yes, after using a tape measure to objectively get an idea of what someone's band size and cup ratio are it is possible to guess if someone may be a certain band size and cup. But I stand by using a tape measure to aid in properly fitting someone for a bra, especially if they are between sizes.
dizzypunchpanda29 I worked in a bra store like that and we always used tape measures as a starting point. We went through cup size N.

The tape measure doesn't account for fullness though. I measure 28 under and 35 at my fullest point which should put me in a 32F (UK) when in reality I wear a 32GG-H(UK) because of how my boobs sit

There is a lingerie store about 10 minutes from called Livi Rae Lingerie (They had their own show, Double Divas). Those women can look at me and tell me what size I am. Its insane. And the bra selection is AMAZING. Its so hard as a busty woman to not only find well fitted bras but to also find PRETTY well fitted bras. They have it all. Ill never buy bras anywhere else.

YES!! I'm very passionate about girls learning their true bra sizes because I've struggled so much as a petite woman (at 4'11") and having big boobs. I used to wear an A cup, but that was waaaay to small even at like 13, so then I switched to B and C but those still cut into my side boob and it was super painful, so finally I wear a 32D which I think is the best fit, though I could probably wear a 30D but those are really hard to find anywhere. I had to do so much research on proper sizing by myself, so it would have been sooooo much easier if I could've gone to somewhere like that to have them fit me.

I used to bra fit. I used a tape measure but I refused to do the +4 method. I had nothing but happy customers because I knew how bras are supposed to fit from my mom. I just couldn't eyeball the greatest.

I'm calling b.s. on tiff. As a seamstress the only way to be 100% accurate you gave to measure. Not saying that I can't look at someone and get their size pretty accurate but tape measures are important.
Felicia Talbot that’s why she had a couple of attempts to get it right, and it also depends on the customers preference (been a bra fitter who doesn’t use tape measures and have heard thousands of tape measure horror stories)

I’ve sized women and I have to say she was right it’s easier to eyeball it. I’ve seen so many cases of the tape measure being wrong.
Jennifer Smith, I am not saying people can't eyeball. In fact I believe I stated my issue was the statement made about how real fitters don't have tapes. I rarely use a tape at my work when doing a basic fit however per my company requirements I have to take a measurement at some point during my interaction with them.
Getting fitted is the best thing I ever did!

I have a lot of stress and you guys are such an amazing outlet for me. You are so inspiring and happy all the time one of my 2018 resolutions is to be more like you guys, meaning not caring what others think and being happy all the time. I love watching all your videos and smiling because I travel to get to school and it takes me a long time to get to school, about an hour so I dot get home until about six at night and I will have about two more hours of homework, so I can't really hang out with friends so I just watch these videos and laugh. So thank you for the best hour of my day when I finally get to relax and just laugh.
Just make sure you get your homework done even though you are watching their videos because school is your job number ONE! I admire you for your dedication and drive. Keep moving forward you will be glad you stuck to your goals and finished.

Okay not to be rude, I know she is professional, but I am very sure measuring is also being professional? I don't got Victoria secret but where I go they do a pretty good. The lady explained how my measurement is an in between cause I'm skinnier so my band is like small and doesn't even exist I have to go tight or loose, but I don't have big boobs (the lady told me I'm big in the small boob community 😂😂😂) so I do get the gaps sometimes.
