    Sierra, don’t water your plants during the day - especially the hottest parts of the day, it will fry the roots and kill them. Always water early am or late evening. Can’t wait to see your garden continue to flourish!

    • @Clarinalein
      @Clarinalein 2 года назад +23

      Yes! I wanted to comment that too, sometimes the water can even lead to burned holes in the leaves. So definitively better to water them without direct sunlight hitting them right when you do it 😊 love the gardening content 😍

      That's interesting, I've always heard you should water your plants at least twice a day if it's really hot and dry out, and you should water them when they get dry in the middle of the day.

      @@isthisnametaken6618 If you do have to water during the day, you can. You have to be very careful to not water the plant itself and just the soil at the roots. Easier and better just to water morning or night but not everyone has that luxury. 😊

    • @naonao9528

      Yeah it's best to water plants in the morning when it's cool. If it's too hot it will shock the plants. And all the water should dry up by the end of the day to avoid root rot. If plants are showing signs of needing additional water or if I wasn't able to in the morning I will water my garden in the cool evening right before sunset. I also try to get the water close to the environment temperature especially for flowers.

    Be careful watering your plants in the day when it’s really hot!! You can accidentally fry them. Water before it gets above 80 and then water again in the evening if you’re worried about them drying out. You can also mulch your topsoil to keep it moist! Just check under the mulch every few days to make sure the ground is still moist.

    In terms of watering, you want to aim to water less frequently but always a lot each time. Aiming to water about 1 inch of water all over the area. What that does is ensure the water goes deep into the soil, encouraging the roots to grow deep and strong. Making sure the water doesn't just evaporate off the top. Also as mentioned in a previous comment, never water in the full sun as the water droplets on the leaves will act as a magnify glass and can burn the plants; so always early morning or late evening ! Good Luck xox
