It's inspiring to see such a high quality boat receiving the steady attention to maintenance and upgrades. And then there's the price: Were you surprised as I was given its size, guest & crew capacity, accommodations quality and operational capability? Imagine: Departing Norfolk, she's only 2-3 days away from arriving Hamilton, Bermuda with 1/3 her fuel remaining. She can then depart for San Juan, PR or the Virgins with comfortable reserves. Magic Carpet!
This is a lot of boat for the money for sure! What amazes me is that if money is no object, the boat needs nothing! She already has stabilizers, bow thruster, upgraded electronics, sports tender, even a jacuzzi!
Hi Garnock Reviews, This time you come with a very well maintaint Hatteras 74 from 1992 and it looks great with a cozy coclpit to start with a good size salon with a open galley four cabine below all ensuite with a spaceious master in the back what you have a lot on Dutch build yachts but the brand Hatteras is a rare find with us and mostly the smaller kinds Thanks again a great show ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Manuel. If I had the time and money, I could see myself in something like this. Very capable long term liveaboard. I agree about being somewhat rare in Europe. I don't remember ever seeing a Hatteras in the UK when I was growing up. They are fairly common in Florida though.
Absolutely beautiful. What a boat. Someone is going to be very happy. And sorry to see the owners had to sell. It is obvious they tried everything to stay on the water, but we all get to an age when boating is a thing of the past. One of the sad parts of life.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍 My understanding is the owners are looking to sell to buy a smaller offshore sports fisher like a Hatteras, Viking, or similar.....but will continue to maintain and enjoy this one until she is sold 😉
If I'm honest, when I got asked to film a 30 year old Hatteras, I was expecting it to look very dated, basic, and even rough. I was not expecting something as stunning and appealing as this. I'd be proud to own this one, and sail into any port or marina along the way 🤠
I’m watching you guys from sudden Alberta Canada and I’m very very proud to see you guys working hard as the tugboats. You guys are very frustrating with what you guys do there or what we do here up here in Canada to the great lakes canals and docs both the locks up to the Great Lakes. Pretty good job did that back in 1972 though
You made me Google Image search Alberta, Canada, and it looks stunning! It looks like Scotland on steroids. Maybe some day, my wife and I will get to take a trip up that way 😉
Yes, with the older ones you can always judge the interior quality by the headliner. What’s the condition of the headliner that’s one thing to look at with looking at the older models Ting back this far
So many of the hatteras yachts from the 80 and 90s either have been butchered by rich people who think having money automatically gives you good taste or the ability to design but whoever ordered this one did have good taste or was smart enough to get out of the way of a real designer.
I like how it's obviously had time and money invested in her over the years, but it's all tastefully done. She still holds onto that classic Hatteras character 😉
A 1992 model. In spite of the age and how it looks. What percentage of the boat is used up and how much life is left. Smart money says. Keep a hundred thousand put away for the unexpected. Seems like the perfect boat for cruising Between Maine and Fla.
She would be perfect for winters in Florida, and summers up north. I'd recommend a good sea trial and survey, but my gut says there is a lot more life left in this one 😉
It sounds cheap until you consider the cost to bring it current and extreme upkeep. Budget $1MM, including the purchase, for Year 1 and 2 then $200K per year thereafter....plus fuel for major expeditions, if any. Too big for a GL voyage.
She's lovely, those lifts are indeed unique, and clearly she's been well maintained--read all the upgrade stuff in the listing and it is most impressive indeed. My big question is this: How well insulated sound-wise is the engine room? With it right up against that guest cabin and the vestibule to the Master I just wonder about noise/vibration from that era's construction. Not that this would be a dealbreaker, but still curious.
Thanks DL. I did notice there is a lot of insulation in the engine room which should reduce both the noise and the heat from spreading to the cabins. I also noticed she has impressive looking engine mounts so that should help reduce vibrations too. I'm willing to bet in the right conditions, you could still sleep soundly in the cabins even with the boat cruising under way. 🤠
The asking price was $549,000 as you see the boat in the video. I don't know the exact price it sold for other than it was close to the asking price. I wish the new owners well for many seasons to come 😎
By my calculations this ship uses approximately 62.37 gph to get 1000 miles out of 4158 gallons of fuel. I assume that is at about 10 knots not 15 knots cruse speed. Would I be wrong to say at 15 knots the range would be approximately 500 - 600 miles?
I don't have the exact details on fuel consumption, but I believe you are in the right ballpark. If range and consumption is a concern, I'd recommend hooking up flow meters when doing the sea trial and get accurate readings that way.
@@GarnockReviews that’s $20790 at $5 per gallon to go approximately 600 miles. I would have to say this is not good in today’s world. I’m very interested in this yacht but it’s not practical in today’s world. With insurance and maintenance this is a $70-100k a year ship. Thank you for your time. I love this and the 70ft Hatteras yacht but practicality says it’s not for me.
Can you shoot me an email with your contact details to Boats@GarnockReviews.com? I can pass your info on to Joe, the broker, who may be able to get you more detailed info on consumption etc
If you're serious, reach out to Joe (the broker). Last I knew, this was still for sale but it's been getting a lot of attention. Fantastic value for money 🤠
I personally haven't seen this one listed for anywhere near $400k. When I filmed the boat, it was just new to the market. Are you sure this was the same listing you saw?
So first thing that sticks out is the washer has water in it. That shouldn't happen which means the washer is broke and they aren't replacing it. Makes me wonder what else is wrong with this boat. Most likely lots.
As much as I tell everyone to always get a good survey, sea trial, and mechanical inspection, this is one boat I have high confidence in finding very few if any critical issues. So much time and money has gone into this one, with documentation to prove it.
Did you consider that the washing was paused for the video? Of course you didn't, you just assumed. Do you know what a survey is? When you decide to buy this, you will have a survey done to find out the condition of all of the systems on the boat, including the washing machine.
you simply can not beat this gorgeous boat for the price tag. awesome little ship.
Such a beautiful boat! She was built the year I graduated college, and she has fared far better than me! Great review as always, thanks!! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
I was 8 when she was launched.......I know which one is more structurally sound between me and the yacht 😆
WOW! - SO MUCH yacht for the price. And cared for so well. This is an amazing deal. Someone is gonna snatch this beauty up so fast.
I'd make an offer myself on this one if I could 😉
Gorgeous boat so much for the money. Love your reviews as always
Thanks Drew, I appreciate the support 😎
Beautiful yacht.
This one pretty much has it all! A great live aboard! Great layout. #1 on my wish list.
It makes the short list for me too! Very surprised when I stepped onboard and glad you enjoyed my video 😎
This is a beautiful boat and a great price tag
I agree 100% on both accounts 👍
That is the finest Hatteras of that vintage I've ever seen! Magnificent yacht!
I agree 100% This one was a very pleasant surprise, from bow to stern 🤠
What can anyone say . It's a beautiful one of that age . Perfect live aboard. Keep them coming we all love this stuff.
Glad you feel that way, as I filmed another classic Hatteras the same day 😉 Should have that one live within the next week or so 🤠

One of the most impressive boats I have ever seen. 👍❤
Glad you enjoyed it Paul 😊
What a beauty!
I agree 😎
Great price , yes I love candy!
Your camera work and presentation are the best I've seen on U-Tube so far. Oh, and whatta sweet piece this one is. Mmmmmmmmmmmm
Thank you 😊 Glad you are enjoying my channel 😉

Best narrator on you tube, thank you.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed my video 😎
Sweet boat.
Beautiful!
Thanks for watching Jeff, glad you enjoyed it 😎
Love watching videos so nicely done. We may start with a simple "one can" sale; but I enjoy dreaming about the "what could we do".
Thanks Brian. This one certainly makes the short list for which boat would I pick from my channel to keep if I could. We can but dream? 😉
This boat was obviously updated! Very nice
I agree 100% 😎

Beautiful boat, way out of my league, but I can dream!
You and I are in the same boat my friend (see what I did there 😁), but I certainly see the appeal with this one
Nice. My knees liked the lifts. And My Honey would like the Jacuzzi tub.
I was surprised to see the lift systems, but love that they are hidden and out the way. Best of both worlds 😉
Very nice boat! I’ve seen a few older Hatteras that don’t match this, love the modern layout and upgrades.

🤔very interesting offer
Hello mate is it still up for sale and it’s best one l have seen l love it can you let me know please thanks you
It's still on Yachtworld, so I'm assuming yes. I'd recommend calling Joe tomorrow and touching base with him to confirm 😉

I think Django would’ve liked this candy land.

You just forgot to say what material the hull is made of!
This one is a composite hull construction, so less maintenance to worry about 🤠
Nicest '92 I have evah
What company makes those lifts for mobility, would love to know please , thanks buddy

Exact boat I want I’ll be ready to purchase in a few years hopefully there a 74 walk around available do you think there will be?
I hope you find your dream boat when the time is right 🤠
Please clarify: The yacht has been sold; nevertheless, $549,000 was not the final price, but the price prior to the upgrades?
The asking price was $549,000 as you see the boat in the video. I don't know the exact price it sold for other than it was close to the asking price. I wish the new owners well for many seasons to come 😎
That buyer got a beautiful yacht for a price that can't be beat.

Nice vessel, good video. But don't point the camera at the deck so much; more eye-level line of sight please.
Thanks, and I always welcome constructive feedback 😉
I want to buy this boat

Where is she docked?
Just outside Palm Coast, Florida. Joe, (the broker) has 2 of these yachts for sale on the same pontoon 🤠
how bizarre ive been looking deeply at this boat for a very long time and it was $399,000 dollars mmm some one getting a touch greedy are we
I personally haven't seen this one listed for anywhere near $400k. When I filmed the boat, it was just new to the market. Are you sure this was the same listing you saw?
“I see expensive bills”
Well.......it's a boat 😬🤪
Opulent 92
Very 😎
Sleeps 8 and has NO interior dining space?

It very likely they stopped the rince cycle of the washer at that point. That boat is in Bristol condition.
Doubt that washer is broken!
Did you consider that the washing was paused for the video? Of course you didn't, you just assumed. Do you know what a survey is? When you decide to buy this, you will have a survey done to find out the condition of all of the systems on the boat, including the washing machine.
@@kokomo9764 I know about a survey. Thanks but that had nothing to do with my comment.
Watch it again. There is no water in it. When you come to it pause it and look closely
