The Horses mouth - no need for “according to…” my fav bit was at the end where you see a man bound by his duty to “I’ve started so I’ll finish” completely professional as always but you could see he was ready to eat her liver with some farther beans and a nice chianti, thanks for all you share great channel.
Good repair on the open circuit Rob. The most common fault I come across is blown diodes, low current being a pointer to this. Their a cheap component and typically a tool free fix. Might be worth checking on your panel.
Sir you solve my problem recently my solar panels burnt on few sites and within warranty period company didn't replace it , i hope with this technique i fix it .
I do the same after all if they r discarded & repaired its effectively free power , also some times u can re config a higher volt panel to lower volts by cutting tracks & parallel with some surplus grid types ect

Thanks a lot !!! What product do you use to remove the plastic covering the connection? (I don't succed to understand clearly the name of it) Have a nice day !!!
It's kinds neat that PV cells can still work even when they are broken, and that one can make custom output panels just by combining cells into strings. Looks like this panel could benefit from a few diodes added to the strings.
Turning lead into gold that failed gave us millions of golden opportunities. you search for the ideal battery gave golden opportunities to many all your followers.
Many years ago I worked for the company that pioneered "Fracking" in the oil fields, some of the wells we serviced were thick with parafin, we used 28% HCl acid and or 100% xylene to help dissolve it. I got a few drops on me, burns like hell, until washed off. Extremely flammable and ate right through some of our fluid valves if not diluted. Valves in storage tank were a different material.
Don't try the drone motor on this one! PS: I used a knife blade and scratched off a bit of the back side to access the metal. My aim was to cut the series in 2 series (in parallel) with a lower voltage. From 38 Volt to ~ 19 Volt.
Great tip on using WD-40 for removing butyl rubber! Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
I wish I could come across a few. That's absolutely amazing
Their quite easy to find, check out tips and solar panel installers.
That's info I've never seen anywhere else, TY Rob
As per usual , love your work . I have about 140 of these panels now from people upgrading them and throwing out the old ones .
cheers mate and wow - that is a lot of panels lol
@@ThinkingandTinkering but they r free u cant let the go as scrap
Excellent repair video Rob. Handy if you can get a heap of faulty solar panels dirt cheap to repair and put together an emergency or secondary array.
cheers mate and yes finding a few would be awesome or sure
Thank you Sir! Especially with the rubber

This video has been very instructive
Love it! I always pick up tips watching your channel

My panel is effected with lighting and on the middle there are some disconnection paths .can I scratch the behind of the panel and combine them

Why the company name change???? 🤔
Maybe legal issues with previous partners?
nope - it's to link in with the new twitch stream
That xylene tip is gold, or rather, silver. Cheers.

the diodes are on the back connection mate
@@ThinkingandTinkering But are they pass-trough diodes? Why did the assembly arc in the first place?
A splendid solution it is; thinking 🤔 wD40
Thanks for this.
cheers mate
Nice fix. What causes the burnout? Is it too much sun or too much current coming back into the panel?
I suspect it's a Friday panel mate

Great tip! Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
What is xylene, where to get it and what not? I've never used it before. Thx
It is thinner/brush cleaner for hammerite paint
Use a chemical mask when using it. It is some nasty stuff.

xylene doesn't burn like hell - even 100% - it's a bit cold and mostly sold as paint thinner
it's a kind of paint thinner mate - you can buy it online easily enough
Awesome! 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
wd-40 is a handy tip.

lol - yeah - quite likely to explode it lol
Solar cells are large LED lights have fun with that one
they light up in the infrared I believe

Ummm wish you had tested it before and after..DVD:)
Pretty sure he did.
@@AtlasReburdened Would have liked to see 0V ending to it's rating value.
I did - but I thought the burnt circuit showed clearly enough it was broken - ah well next time - cheers
@@ThinkingandTinkering True that. would have liked to see the out put after the repair. Any possible loss do the new connection? :)
