A simple tutorial showing òne simple method obtaining an allmost identical deadmau5 analogue synth-sound.
Click 7:32 for the complete sound result.
The sound used in this video is an unedited preset from Z3ta called "Chords of life" found on the C-Tab.
I WILL NOT HELP WITH QUESTIONS REGARDING:
* Where to download the plugins.
* How to create an automation filter.
As these questions are spamming my inbox daily and can easily be found on google and\or youtube.
If you have anything else on your mind, feel free to write a comment or send me a message.
There are only sound at the beginning and the end of the video.
The end audio is the audio directly from the timeline you can see in the video.

Wow. 4 years since iv'e made this and the response have been phenomenal. My music theory and skill at this point were pretty much non existent but with 250k views and good response iv'e actually helped quite a bunch. This tutorial was only created to show how this sound could be produced\copied very easily, with allmost no post mixing. I'm very glad iv'e succeeded helping most of you guys with this. I hope you've something of value from this :-) Thank you.

If there´s no "Last Tweaked Parameter"- Butten, click on "Browse Parameters. You shoud find "Cutoff". Right-click on it and choose "Create Automation Clip"
@Dinglezz Do you use FruityLoops 9?
If so, you've got to go to "Tools -> Last Tweaked - Create Automation clip" at the very top left of FL Studio. After you have tweaked your desired button, offcourse :-)

anyone that knows wich program deadmau5 was using when he made the song: animal rights? because i know that deadmau5 is using not really much fl studio, mostly ableton, but wich of them did he use to make animal rights?
I dont have the option"last tweaked parameter" in my Fruity wrapper on the Zeta + window? how do i create the automation then ?

@dynamisk I'm assuming you're using ASIO4ALL or something? For some reason ASIO only allows output of one sound source at a time. Using your normal soundcard (integrated or not) should help.
Of course this is just a problem I've had; something might be wrong somewhere else. :|
@hh8t Just assign your 3xosc to a channel on the mixer and load "fruity free filter". and it should be already set to low pass filter. Then there's a knob that says Frequency and it should be set at 1457 or something. Just right click on that knob and choose "create an automation clip". then you can change when the cutoff gets higher/lower. :)
@TKMT88 My point is, how has this helped anyone to do anything?
@DJVacs It's because you have a newer version of FL, in this video i'm using a older version with square "notes".

@45682s i guess you have a old version or something. are you sure you've checked all the presets?
@Shamukh Yeah i googled around on ASIO and found out it was the source of the problem. However, Windows 7 users have reported alot of bugs & errors on desktop recording. In the meanwhile, iv'e changed platform to Ableton Live so iv'e got other things to think about right now. However i will surely be creating some tutorials in Ableton later on for those who might be interested.

Just one more question... Do you kno how to recreate the synth Deadmau5 uses in the beginning of "I Remember". I hear its the same sorta thing but I cant get it to sound reasonable. Thanx Man =)
@oscarebest this melody is used in alot of songs, and i'm only using it in my tutorial. I like to create more advanced melodies in my own productions. This melody was just improvised when i made the vid.

can anyon etell me out to get the effect right at the begining ? I know to use Wasp but how does he get it to go pregressivly louder ? if starts of quite Low on the Cut but the it gradually gets higher with the Cut ??? :)
@MeltedTelevision i agree not to copy other peoples styles, but learning styles helps , and it shows people how to use the program a little
to create an automation clip with non fl programs like z3ta,nexus etc. just click on the downward arrow in the top left corner of the fruity wrapper for the vst you`re using,click browse parameters,then simply move the knob or slider in the vst for whatever you want to automate,and it will automatically find the one you need in the list on the left.just right click,and create automation clip :) hope it helps :)
@greekranger It appears you have and older version of FL Studio. Do as following:
1. Touch the knob you want to automate in Z3ta (In this case, the Cutoff).
2. Now, go to "Tools" in the top left corner of FL Studio (Not in Z3ta), -> Last Tweaked - Create Automation Clip.
That should do the trick!

@1485x I'm sorry if i didn't understand you correctly, but if im right what you want to know is how to automate the cutoff. There are plenty of methods to do this. Watch the video a few times or check my comment responses, and i'm sure you will find your answer.
what version u use ? i get the 1.5 and the graphics interface isn't the same as you ! help ?( there is too many preset) what the name of yours ?
@LogicalDefiance Heck i'm not here to blame people when they try to do good things. I agree it should have been audio in the entire video, i also should use more time next time i'l make a video. However, do you have any own productions? I mean, since you are mr.best here, we should both agree your productions must be of professional quality? Am i right?
@ABFan010 There are many ways. It's usually just automation on the filter cut off. Create a sound, low pass it and then automate the filter cut off to rise slowly. You can automate other effects at the same time to create a swirling mass of sound.
Well it's not the exact same sound, but it might be easier than you think. Try to increase the levels on sustain
elease envelopes on the "chord for life" sound.
But i'l look more into that when i get back to my computer, and hopefully i can recreate it and give you some tips.

@9strongman9 Garage Band is just a limited version of a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). I'm not sure you can even automate stuff in GB. Get your hands on either Logic Pro or FL Studio and i'm sure i can help you out.
@CheetahDNB Yeah! That's the one. I will release a production from Logic in a few days as a video on youtube where i use Techno Chords for the bass and melody. Have received lots of positive feedback for the track, can't wait to upload it to youtube. Stay tuned !
@fakedithaha Oh, no doubt for simple stuff. But if you learn how to use Maximus (the vst behind soundgoodizer), it can sound far better and be used for large mixes without raping the quality. I often start from the soundgoodizer presets for maximus and then fine tune each compressor band as needed

@dynamisk I tried that earlier already, but you can still hear the sawtooth coming thru... If you turn the cutoff right down it sounds a bit like a church organ, Lol doesn't have that deep sound. Thanx Man, appreciate it!

Im producing in ableton aswell, but i'm afraid i lack the words for explaining how to do it. Search "Ableton Live automation" :)
@SuperNetzero There is no sound in the beginning, however if you jump to 7:32 you will hear the finished result.
@GlenHProductions Except that there aren't. this tune is in common time so there are four beats per bar. listen to the end product, the beginning is just looped at a weird interval that makes it sound like a 5/4 time signature.

@Shamukh I agree. And as iv'e said earlier i released this tutorial much easier, and i should have worked on it much more. However, it is out there and hopefully it is one of many tutorials that will help new producers. A tutorial here and a tutorial there.
Anyways, i'm working on new more in-depth tutorials now, however i can't get FL to record audio to my desktop-recorders. Iv'e googled myself crazy but iv'e found no solution for it yet... No tutorial on it either!
@dynamisk Thats how your supposed to do this. Look at pros and learn, then build upon that to make it even better. How boring it would be if everyone started crappy and only a few actually knew what to do. Thumbs up to you. Keep it up.

Been a while since i made this tutorial now. An even better sound can be found in a Logic synth called "Trance Chord" (Don't remember the name of the synth)

@Dinglezz try using Ableton and try out different soft synths, or use hard synths like the Moog.

@9strongman9 i reccomend trying out logic pro instead. Logic has a faboulous synth called ES2, and with the preset Techno Chords it`s the exact same thing! ;)
TT and again the same( i move some slider while playing and when i stop and play it again it is going to default( wtf....(
@LogicalDefiance People see this tutorial because it's called "deadmau5 synth sound tutorial". Not because it's called "How to create deadmau5 synth sound, and mix it properly, and make a drumbeat that fits, and make an entire song. But, however, i see your point. And as iv'e said nearly one thousand times, i didn't want to spend time on the mixing or beat producing. If i would, i could have created another tutorial just for that instead.
@AgitoKun117 Well, it's not free. Just google it and you will find it. There are tons of free plugins just like it. Just google "Free delay vst".

@dynamisk yes, you can automate stuff in gb ;) but to go deeper, logic is better, but gb is actually perfect to start with

There are skins but imo they are ugly. I used them for a day or two and re-installed it.
Anyways, i have ALOT of people questioning me about automation clips. Unfortunatly im not a FL Studio expert so i can't answer all those questions. My best tip is just to search around on youtube\google and don't give up tweaking those knobs. Eventually it will work. Sometimes it might be a bit buggy.

haha! Well, okey. First, it's well explained in the tutorial. But anyways. Just drag the cutoff (CUT) parameter in Z3ta randomly. Then if you are using FL Studio 9, go to the top middle\left of FL Studio and choose Tools -> Last Tweaked -> Create Automation Clip. Your cutoff automation will now be on your timeline :)
If you are using FL Studio 8 or below, just see the tutorial again.

If you see over the Cutoff sliders, there are three "buttons". Named "Dual", "1", "2" and "Link". Play with them. Your z3ta isn't incomplete, sometimes it just won't co-operate :)
for beginners, I'd say a MUCH EASIER way to get (pretty much) this same sound is to just load up 3xosc and set each oscillator to a saw wave and just throw a low pass filter on it. Then just raise the cutoff as needed. :)
z3ta is a sketchy vst.

@louiecord You won't need it. You can find similar synths for free in many places. Just look up free synths on KVR(google it).
