    How do you change grips? Are you doing that with both hands on the paddle, and when do you typically do it? Thanks!

    • @zzzzz2899
      @zzzzz2899 Год назад

      no you don’t need to change grip with both hands on the paddle, and he does it almost every shot depending on what shot he’s hitting like he said in the video…

      @@zzzzz2899 How can you rotate the grip without one hand holding the paddle in place? Try moving the grip on the paddle with the hand on the paddle - it's not easy.

      @@golfshoe9321 I find its alpt easier to do ehen you have a small grip, not too much grip tape

    Just noticed John that you have a ton of shorts and videos online-----thanks for giving your time and thought for all of these--enjoyable and helpful--and for your presence on court and beautiful game !

    What paddle is that

  • @marcoperezblue

    The way your knuckles align on the bevels is technically between the continental and eastern grip but the way the paddle head is facing when you show that grip looks like a semi western

    • @kevolutionpb
      @kevolutionpb 4 месяца назад

      how is it semi western? semi would be a much more aggressive grip (like when he shows the pancake grip) that's semi. his normal grip is somewhere between eastern and continental

    Ben, when can we buy the new paddle? You can’t go a whole season without releasing it

      I heard from a Joola rep end of spring/early summer.

      They're not going to release it until someone has a foolproof solution for all the delamination happening with thermoformed paddles. Pretty sure his prototype was supposed to be released to the public already, but they luckily got to see the struggles of all these other companies before they did so.

    • @Jadrianson
      @Jadrianson Год назад +1

      @@123BV8Until they have a long-term fix for the thermoformed delamination issue, they're not going to release it and they don't want to tell a random buyer that through an email. Also, good luck with that Power Air, the grit and subsequent spin will be gone just as fast as on your Joola, if not faster. Two months of pretty regular high level play is about all any of these paddles last with grit and anyone that tells you differently doesn't play enough or know how to apply spin. It sucks and I hate having to continue shelling out for new paddles, but unfortunately there isn't a perfect alternative right now.

      If it available to him, then, it has to be available to all people, otherwise, he would have an unfair advantage, thus, he would be using an illegal item.

    How do you shift grips mid shot? With no time in between?

    • @RalphL12332
      @RalphL12332 Год назад +2

      He doesn’t! You’ll only change grip if you have time, before the battle starts best be in your continental grip.

      To add to this once you are used to it it doesn’t take much time at all enough time is like 2/10ths of a second every dink and roll he changes. But in fire fights he isn’t.

      With lots of practice you can switch grips almost instantly. I can do it mid hand battle basically without thinking because i've done it so much

    @Ben Johns what grip are you in when at the baseline. I’m in that more severe continental grip at the net for backhand counters and roles, which helps. But it throws me off at the baseline. Are you ever in a more severe continental grip at the baseline?
