Darn,... Why couldn't I have seen this yesterday before I changed my water pump. Good to know though as I know I will need to use this sometime. ALSO.... Why are there any thumbs down. I've been working on vehicles for over 30 years and didn't know, this is a very helpful tip he is giving. Soon to see if my 2003 has this. I had just held the wrench in place and removed the belt from the crank and off it came.
I didn't need to replaced the belt, but I DID have to replace the alternator. This helped a lot knowing about that tab! I'd have never known otherwise.
I just did this and a couple of pointers. 13 or 15 - He shows u a 13 where u have the tab to press in. The 15 has a hole for a pin. I don't know the size, but I'd try to find the hole and get a bolt or nail for it. 8:22 in this video shows the 15 mm pin ruclips.net/video/z_9dNGvgdeU/видео.html . I removed the tire took a 13mm ratchet wrench, rotated the tensor counterclockwise and slid the old belt off the crank pulley. U should make a sketch of ur belt routing or copy one from the internet and check it. Note flat and grooved pullies for routing ur belt from the top. Going in from the side was easier for me. I found a pry bar to place on the tab so, I could pry it inward as I rotated the tensor notch from 6:00 to 2:00, counterclockwise for the tab to catch at 3:00. I set the belt on the bottom , top and slid the belt over the idler pulley. I'm taking a break before I go back out to check the belt and release it. Check ur tensor and idle pullies before u put the belt on. If u want to delete ur AC there is a video and belt # for that.

Needed to replace alternator didn't know where or how to loosen belt. Your video helped out allot! Thanks!!!
Thanks that was very good .
SO HELPFUL SAVED A LOT MORE LOST HIDE WISH I WOULD HAVE WATCHED THIS FIRST
Thanks! Worked perfectly!
The bolt on my tensioner is 15mm not 13mm. And it has no tab I can push with my finger.
thanks for the hint on the tab... will be handy. Tomorrow.
Thanks for your input
Thank you very much!
It didnt show the belt sequence
You should be able to see belt sequence underneath the hood there should be a diagram to show you how to put the belt back on properly
this didn't help at all I need to know how the belt goes around the pulleys
Check under ur hood or refer to the users manual
