Keep going with the reviews Jon. I like the “real world” testing with no need for the “numbers.” There are videos with load testing equipment and under water cameras, but I like the straight forward commentary on how these anchors work for real world cruisers.
Yes, you all did so good filming down to Mexico 🇲🇽✅ It WOULD be nice to see the “Rest” of the trip to where you are Now. I would say That’s where the Interest lyes 😎👍
The cheap danforth will hold solid on the Hudson River and the Eastern Bays. I was tempted to cut my Danforth loose but it finally decided to come out of the muck before I gave up. You're a serious cruiser, you should have at least 2 anchors. 1 for sediment, mud and clay and one for rocky sand and in-between.
The problem we have with Danforth's is that they early reset in a 180 degree switch. We carry 2 fortresses on board and I agree they are the best for soft mud but I wouldn't trust them as a primary if I wasn't on the boat. The goal here is to find an anchor that can perform better than the spade in this substrate and on par with it in all others.
We are officially cruising and purposely not holding ourselves to much of a schedule. Videos will come in all forms as soon as we want to edit them. I am warming up to the idea to start cracking on ep.35. I (Jon) have been really enjoying making the review videos lately.
Please stop doing those reviews. I'm already getting the sigma drive with line cutter and now waiting for the Kingston's test at the higher scope to make my anchor decision. Next time test something cheaper, like beer cozy or a knife. Very, very appreciate the time and effort you two put in to making those videos. Also Kingston it's famous in Canada for high security prison, so they know what a good 'holding' is :-)
I was just kidding you Jon. Cruising and doing those tests has it's limits. I'm so thankful to you two for the Sigma review, otherwise i would never now such thing exists. We'll back in St Mary's working on our Tayana again (if the open the boarder). Pop in for the visit on the way south. All the best. Fair winds and following seas
Great video and lovely anchor. It's a great look for our boat and we're always confident to be stopped in waters that are a bit rough.
Glad see sailing ⛵️ sailboat video again ! 😘⛵️😀 Mike from Missouri
Glad you're back to making videos!
Excellent video, really looking forward to you uploading the next video testing the Kingston anchor at a longer scope. I have subscribed. :-)

Hey guys, great to see a new video and to top it all, a review video! 👍🏻
Great video by the way
Would like to see your hank on headsail setup.
Great reviews!! Keep up the real world stuff!

Welcome back!
Will you two be producing cruising videos soon?

I have a Lord Nelson 35 and get a lot of info out of you two.
Great anchoring video. Love it. Have you guys ever tried a Bahamian Moor? Also, do have your nylon snubber attached to the Kranze Iron?
We have never Bahamian moored as I understand, we have used a stern anchor many times though. Our snubber is terminated at the kranze iron.
When you head South be sure to stop by Stuart Fl. You will not have to buy a beer.
In known shitty holding I never go below 7:1.
Indeed, I guess we just are not that accustomed to shitty holding.

We will try and do something a bit more entry level ;) Thank you for the kind words
