Hello.... Due to compliance issues my organization wants to keep the delegation access only with "Administrator" and wants to restrict this feature for end users till he gets the approval from his Manager. I am trying to find the solution over Google/ RUclips but unable to find any reference. Anyone can help me to achieve it?
Did you find a workaround for this? I am also on a personal account, and I assume the people who I will be working with will 100% be on a business plan
Hi, I have one issue related to delegates. If ex. A and B two users. A user calendar access provided to B user. B user can access A user calendar, so B user sending meeting invitation to A user from B user calendar. A user can able to see invitation in calendar but mail is not receive. While we have checked in message trace it's showing delivery fail due to mail delete by auto rule. But there is no any rule in outlook. How to resolve this issue.
because you see "fail due to mail delete by auto rule" and the fact that you are getting a bounce back, it sounds like it could be settings on the server side and not a rule on the client.
Outlook online If I am thinking of the right thing is a web app so it should be pretty much the same if you are on a PC or a Mac. I have not used it much at all so I can't say from personal experience but here is a how to from Microsoft. www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2013/09/04/configuring-delegate-access-in-outlook-web-app/
Hi, the mail you are sent with delegated user, in what folder is stored? In "sent items" of the primary account or the "sent items" of the delegated account?
@@listner909 OK. Let's assume only one account (no delegates), the main one. When I send an email, the email is saved in the folder "sent items". The "sent items" folder of my primary account. Now, I add the delegates account, so I have the primary (my account) and the delegates account. I send an email with the delegates account (in the "from" field I put the delegates account). My question is: the email I sent where is saved/stored? In the "sent items" of my account (primary) or the "sent items" of the delegates account?
Hi Chris, someone delegated access for me and I used your other video to add them to my inbox. However when I click on expand it does not show me their inbox even though they gave permission for it. Any advice? Thanks!
They will need to review the folder permissions that they set for you. Likely they tried to setup folder permission manually. The inbox needs to have the permission "Folder visible"
Yes, but you need to share the entire inbox then adjust the permissions for all the folders that you would like to restrict. The inbox must have the permission "Folder visible"
Hi Chris, I’m a delegate to my manager’s inbox and calendar. Previously if I was offline my manager could see last minute invite changes on the day but while I was offline she couldn’t see the changes to the invitation at all, so I had to log on and accept the invite for her to be able to see it on her calendar. Are you able to let me know what we’ve done wrong with the settings? I should be receiving all my manager’s invites in my inbox and she doesn’t need to see them come through in her inbox as it is a double up. Thanks.
I do not think that you could avoid her seeing the invitations in her inbox. as far as the online offline asynchronization you should make sure that both outlook clients are in On-Line mode and try disabling Cached Mode.
Not an expert but 2.12 mins into the video it says in the pop out box deliver meeting requests addressed to me... read that and choose the option that suits you best?
The owner of the mailbox assigns delegation rights. You can remove the mailbox from Outlook (generally) but this will not change your delegate rights for that mailbox.
Very easy to follow through with! Thanks Chris 💕💕
Very useful! Thank you for the brief and effective information!
Glad it was helpful!
Great directions! Thank you
How about updating this video to the new version?
Hello Chris. Thanks a lot for the tutorial, greetings from Costa Rica.
No problem. Hello Costa Rica!
Hi! My client added me as a delegate in Outlook. He wants me to have access to his drafts folder but I couldn't find it. Can you help me please

File - Account Settings - Delegate settings - Add - Type {last name} - OK - Assign permissions - OK
Not sure what you are asking.
Does this "Delegated Account" have to be with a business Microsoft Account? I have a personal account and the delegated option is not there?
As far as I know, all the users must be on the same exchange server. Additionally, I do not think that is supported by Outlook Web.
Did you find a workaround for this? I am also on a personal account, and I assume the people who I will be working with will 100% be on a business plan

Can the delegate track the calendar meeting to D365?

what if the person I want to add, I cant find on the list of contacts options even though they are saved as an outlook contact?
The user has to be in you organization and listed in the GAL
Does this work on the outlook online? Or can I only do this on the Outlook app?
Also I'm on a mac, if that makes any difference

I'm sorry I don't understand your question.

Hi, Where do i find delay delivery option in the outlook email delegated to me?
Same as your mailbox. Open a new message. Select the Options tab. under more options select "Delay delivery."
Hi Chris I can’t see delegate option in my outlook, what do I do? My emails are main access
Do you mean that you do not see the option when you go to File > Account settings?
@@listner909 yes I can’t see any option there
@@minalpatel4268 Yes I'm experiencing the same thing, Im not sure if it is because my account is newer or because I haven't upgraded to Microsoft 365.
@@ayanayasmine5934 same here!
Did anyone figure this out? I’m having trouble with this also
how do I remove myself as a delegate?
The owner of the mailbox assigns delegation rights. You can remove the mailbox from Outlook (generally) but this will not change your delegate rights for that mailbox.
