I have a brother-in-law who was convicted of statutory rape of a 14 year old girl. His wife had invited young neighbor girls over to visit and had pictures of them in their living room . It disgusted me. Consequently, I absolutely refused to let our girls ever go over there with us or without us. My darling husband said he would never, ever allow his brother near our girls. Well t he family protected the pedophile and we were outcasts. We did the right thing. We protected our children. My husband's sister did not. Her daughter, our only niece, was groomed and preyed upon by the pedophile and molested. Once again, my husband's family closed ranks and protected the criminal. This sad story is in a lot of families. That's why so many children are still abused and robbed of their innocence. Cowardly families sheltering pedophiles. Despicable. Protect your children, expose these animals. Our children are depending on it. Nurse Carolyn
Something similar in my step mother's family. Her daughter said her father molested her when she was young (there had been accusations by some neighbors as well) I believed my step sister . Her grandmother , however, blamed her granddaughter for speaking out ! This old fool didn't want the "fuss and trouble in the family". You folks did right by your children.
Awful. I'm glad you and your husband were in agreement on this. And you're right: people who defend the abuser or just look the other way make it easy for creeps to have multiple victims.
@@Qbgarden they won't appreciate it, at least until they have kids of their own, but this isn't the world we grew up in and if that means if have to be all up in their business i guess that's where i'll be. They may not like it now but eventually they’ll appreciate what you were doing after they have kids of their own, these children should’ve grown up but they didn’t get that chance, and I hope to god no other child has to deal with this in some dystopian future, but we all know that’s sadly not ever going to be the case. There will always be monsters ready to do terrible things
@@marytramp5678sadly, it's a daily battle with some kids under 18. They think we are strangling them and their freedom. I have this very thing with my 16yo daughter. And she knows that I've seen some terrible things through my previous line of work, too. They just can't comprehend that there are some very bad people who won't think twice about hurting them.
Ian Huntley said "the girls asked about if his Girlfriend got the teaching position at school" But one of the girls had already given her a card saying they were sorry she didn't get it. The signs always pointed right to him.
I was in a bar with friends on the day they announced the girls' bodies had been found. There was a big TV in the corner. The whole bar went quiet, everyone was glued to the news. Up to then, people were so hopeful they would turn up alive. One of the saddest days i can remember.
i was on a bus when someone who had a radio and headphones heard the news and she told everyone on the bus. the bus fell silent apart from sad and horrified gasps. it had been a lovely sunny day until that news but the atmosphere felt oppressive afterwards. terrible events.
I was on a bus too in Birmingham when I found out the news I phoned my mum to confirm, she had also heard the news and I burst out crying.. Ive ben haunted by the girls passing since the day I found out they were missing 😢😢😢
If this guy gets out at 68 years old.. don't for a micro second think that he'll be too weak or too old to cause damage. People like this NEVER change. !
For a country that has the White Tower of London and the devices like the scavengers daughter; it's bizarre to see GB getting out such light sentences. It's cruel & unusual for their citizenry.
This is the most horrific case I've ever heard. These two little girls were dropping off a card and ended up murdered. Such pure intentions of the little girls. These two people sicken me and I cannot believe that the woman is free. She shouldn't be free.
It sadly is a trend for women involved in these kinds of things to either go free entirely or be punished with extremely low sentencing. I have watched a lot of reports on horrible crimes like these. and pretty much every time a woman is involved, the court punishes the man as the main perpetrator and either let the woman go free or punish her with 1-2 years in prison. Even when it is obvious that she was just as much involved as he was.
I was in Hollway when she was ,she was kept with all the high risk people,,I worked in the gardens and had to clean around the outside of cells ,would see her all.the time ,her cell was covered every peice of wall with cards from sick people feeling sorry for her and a big painting of the girls with angel wings on her window it made me sick , a women I shared a dorm with worked on her wing brought back some coffee one day from maxine Carr I wasn't touching that !! Edit...that card was centre in her cell , how she was allowed it is beyond me , be we couldnt get near her as even her exercise yard has huge metal gates around it inside the prison ,but u couldnt miss her !
They weren’t dropping off a card they were merely on a walk. She had been given the card from Holly at the end of the term not on the day the girls were taken.
Yep Carr was released and relocated, disgusting, she knew what he did and was helping him to cover it up. She's moved around a bit, keep your eye on the staff in your local supermarket, she's been recognised before now. How did she deserve a fresh start when Holly and Jessica didnt even get one in the first place? The British public will always remember them.❤️
The joy that it brought me hearing he's been attacked several times, had boiling water thrown on him, his throat slashed, overdosing unsuccessfully. I laughed. Those poor sweet girls, I cannot imagine the fear they had, I hope they didn't suffer long.. My heart aches for the parents..
It's tragic, but you would have done the same things as Huntley if you were under the exact same conditions as him. Everything is really just particles and fields adhering to the laws of physics, so can't blame anyone for anything in an absolute sense.
@@Shavenhamster How's it nonsense, it's true unless quantum indeterminacy has a significant effect at larger scales or some sort of backwards time causation makes free will a real thing, but I'm skeptical about both of those.
I live in Soham. It doesn't feel like twenty years have already passed. What happened to Holly and Jessica is still raw even for some people who are not related to them. This obviously was a huge shock to the community. 💔
I'll bet it is still so raw and completely unforgettable and unforgivable.. I lived in Waterbeach a few years before and it was so incomprehensible that such a beautiful peaceful place as Soham could end up being the scene for such a horrific crime. My condolences to these poor parents and families, and to the wider community also, who as you clearly illustrate, will never recover from this abhorrent crime.
My thoughts exactly, doesn't feel like 20 years, a few at the most. Was soo sad when it happened and watching this video brought those same feelings back as if it just happened. Can't even start to comprehend what both families are feeling to this day. You can never get over something as horrific as this. Hope the murderer suffers till his last day and i pray he lives a long life to suffer for as long as possible. And what he will face in the here after will be something he can't imagine- that torture and suffering will be eternal.
I can relate. I lived in a small town in the US. One day i came home and my neighbor told me there had been a triple murder just down the street, 3 young people. I swear, the entire atmoshere changed in that town, it was like some psychic stain. Heaviness. I planted alot of bright , happy sunflowers in the front yard that summer. It helped.
I was on holiday in Spain when news broke out on sky news that the 2 beautiful girls were missing. After returning back home to the UK after my holiday, was when it was all over the news that sadly, bodies had been found. I’m from Warwickshire, never met or knew those 2 beautiful girls, but it completely ripped my heart out. The following year I gave birth to my own beautiful girl. We’ve just celebrated her 20th birthday. I’m so fortunate to have my daughter, my heart breaks for Jessica and Holly and both of their parents. No parent should ever have to go through the pain and heartache of loosing their child. No child should ever have to go through pain and fear like those 2 angels did. May their beautiful souls rest in eternal peace. God be with and bless you all ❤️
Seems like every small town has a horror they’d rather forget. I’m from a smaller mountain town and our horror story is a mother and daughter that murdered the grandmother and stuffed her in the basement and continued to live in the home for weeks. I went to school with the daughter. It just so bizarre to wrap one’s head around it
So glad he hasn't been able to take the easy way out and continues to live in misery, I was a small child at the time but remember their faces everywhere, I never knew they was killed though (I assume my parents kept that part from me being so young) and its certainly a sad outcome to learn. I hope this guy lives every day in pain and hope his fellow inmates are always aware of his crimes, for the scum that haunts prison cells, thankfully they all seemingly hate people who abuse, harm or molest children.
He will spend every day in fear for his life. Even the worst of society despise those who sexually assault children. Many of them have children of their own after all. Other inmates will consider it a badge of honor to bring him harm.
Unfortunately they England let's there people get away with a smack on the. Be lucky if he's in jail for they do release murderers and child predators worst them America
Spent their days together, now they’re buried right by each other. That part really broke me 😞 RIP to these beautiful girls. And may that monster continue to suffer in prison!
My 3 girls are well into adulthood now, but seeing these precious little girls takes me back in time. I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what their parents have endured. My deepest condolences to them. There are no words.
@@Poeticfloetic honestly why are you picking at people's spelling? On a video like this who cares about everything being spelt completely right? Get a life.
RIP Holly and Jessica. This was a horrible case and I agree that Maxine is just as evil and almost as guilty as Huntley. Showing off the beautiful card that the victim gave her even as she knew what had happened to these innocent children. So glad the camera man caught her slip of the tongue. And much respect to Detective Stephenson and the entire police force for their hard work during this case.
I disagree Maxine Car was evil. She was a fool with no moral compass which is why she was released after six months. That is the problem when women get involved with evil men. They get involved in the first place because they can't discern good from bad then get led along a path. If she had been a real woman with a strong sense of morality someone or something would have told her go nowhere near this creature.
That was not the only slip, her talk about the card directly contradicted the statement her boyfriend made in the news interview that the girls asked him about the job!
You are very proud of the police that worked this case but did you know one of the officers that was involved in this case was actually arrested for child pornography during this investigation
Huntley said girls asked him if Carr did get the job,and told him to tell Carr they were sorry? And Carr stood there with a card that one of the girls wrote " sorry you did not get the job" ? So obviously Huntley lied of what the girls asked him? How come nobody noticed?
I remember this case so well, I was 12 and it was kind of the first time I was old enough to realise what evil was and how cruel this world can be, I remember seeing that vile man giving his interviews before he was a suspect and feeling creeped out and like there was a monster inside him. I've never forgotten their names and I never well, may you both rest warmly, gently and in peace Holly Marie Wells and Jessica Aimee Chapman.
I remember it so well because I was 4 and a half months pregnant with my first baby. I remember panicking badly at the thought of this happening to my baby
@@tankthearc9875 Sadly, it's pretty common for the accomplice wife to get off lightly. Even if they directly help in the crimes, they are often viewed as victims themselves. At some point, though, these women have clearly (at least in my mind) crossed the line from victim to victimizer.
This case is just one of the reasons England needs the death penalty! Perverts like this Huntley guy need to be killed not coddled in prison for decades while their victims never again get to enjoy life! Also jail those who aid the murderer like this Maxine.
The end really made me shed a tear and got me thinking. They spent their lives side by side, and as morbid, terrible and terrifying as it is they died side by side, and now they are resting eternally side by side. There is very little light in cases as awful as this, but I can imagine their families may find some comfort in knowing their two girls are eternally keeping each other company on the other side. Rest easy Holly and Jessica, you two didn't deserve to leave this earth at the hands of such a cruel monster.
People find comfort in holding on to ideas like they’re “keeping each other company on the other side”, and that’s just being human, but no one really knows what happens next.
@@LovesLakes They are in the presence of the Lord together, who is loving and merciful. They are definitely together. "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 19:14
The fact no one really followed through with his complaint about the prison system, got his throat slashed with a razor, and tried to overdose but stayed alive is ✨karma✨ at it's finest. But honestly, those poor girls didn't deserve that... How cruel and apathetic can someone be to even follow through with such a thing and bluntly lie to the media, to the cops, their parents??
And that is why we need the DEATH penalty. In fact it needs to be installed EVERYWHERE because that's the only thing that will stop these narcissistic pieces of s***.
@Kenjiro is tired of ur sh!t But he never knew even a sliver of the happiness and closeness Holly and Jessica had together. And he never will. Just a long empty life of misery.
I think you're right. She literally said to the police that she gave him an alibi because she "didn't want him to get judged for his past". Which means she was totally fine with him working as a caretaker in a school, when she knew he'd been accused multiple times of abusing children. She knew he was sick and part of me thinks she enjoyed that (with him?) somehow 🤷🤮
@@jimmyavpi no, what makes him guilty is the evidence against him, such as him admittedly being the last person seen with them and his timelines didn't match. That doesn't make him a murderer though. But upon searching his home they found that his home and carpets had been excessively cleaned, and clothes were all washed. His girlfriend and him made statements and gave interviews which did NOT go well to say the least 🤡
I'm puzzled why his original story wasn't questioned more. He says the girls stopped by to ask him if his partner had gotten the teaching position she was after, and he told them "no". Then later, she shows a card given to her by Holly saying she's sorry she didn't get the job. Once that card came to light, it's obvious the girls were already aware of her not getting the position, and therefore wouldn't have asked him about it.
Have you any credible evidence that's what the card said? Because I've asked this numerous times and it seems to be that someone on RUclips said it and I'm gullible enough to believe it and keep feeding the same story out. I don't expect a response from you but it would be great to know if your source is stronger that YT comments. If not then have the respect not to spread disinformation over the murder of two children.

The image of Holly & Jessica in their Man U tops is permanently etched into every British person's mind. Huntley will never walk free, the British public would riot if they even considered it. He's utterly dispised.
I agree. I remember crying when they were found. I like most of the UK was hoping and wishing they would be found alive and returned to their parents. Some cases hit a nerve with the public and we never forget them. Hindley and Brady was one of those cases. Hated till the day they died in prison.
@@Poeticfloetic Thank you for caring about our language... You didn't deserve that. Not that it was "a big deal" but let's call it like it is, shall we? 💟
RIP Holly and Jessica. I can never imagine how anyone would be evil enough to kill innocent children. It's actually quite satisfying to hear what Ian had to endure while in prison. Anyone who harms children deserves the pain and misery of a lifetime!
And I dont understand why we live in societies who tolerate mass murderers and child killers and give them life in prison when they deserve the Death Penalty.
@@dezznutz3743because life in prison is way more punishment than the death penalty. Courts do get stuff wrong and an appeal can't bring someone back from the dead can it? Places can't even agree on how to safely end someone's life these days with drug companies wanting nothing to do with it. Big chunks of the US have the death penalty, how does that affect offending? Seems to me it's just business as usual regardless. You need to remember, generally those who murder are either mentally ill so aren't thinking about consequences or are carefully planning therefore plan to get away with it or don't plan on surviving the incident and aim for death by cop so death penalty is irrelevant. US has death penalty the UK doesn't remind me which country has the most shootings per capita
Two incredibly beautiful little besties, so senselessly taken from this life entirely too soon by a depraved, sick man (with his weak-minded girlfriend by his side) -- I am so glad Holly and Jessica got the justice they deserved. Here's to hoping Ian never makes it out from behind prison walls, and their faces haunt him every night. Another job well done, Beyond Evil!! Thank you for your hard work 👏🏼
I wanna give both sets of parents a hug. I dunno what else I can say. Their loss is unimaginable and their strength is admirable. Poor girls, poor families. :(
@beyondevilpodcast, WELL DONE on this video! 👏🏼👏🏼 This is one of the BEST I've seen in recent months!! I had heard this story MANY times before, HOWEVER..... NONE of them went into such depth as to the events and evidence within the case. Because of that.... I was in tears by the end, but then found myself outright crying 😭 when it was said the girls were buried next to each other for eternity. 😭 That is both SAD & PRECIOUS at the same time!
The Soham case changed the vetting system forever in the UK. Anyone applying for a job in the care, teaching and associated industries that involve social involvement of all kinds require a clean past this is why we in the UK all have RCB checks done to verify our suitability. I remember the Soham murders very well and it was a tragedy for those little besties and the only positive to come out of this case was a change in UK law to limit the risk of this ever happening again. All my best wishes to the families.

As someone who has gone through unspeakable abuse and tragedy after tragedy, the whole "maxine was vulnerable and shouldnt be held accountable" opinion is disgusting. Yes I am f*cked up in the head but the thought of doing anything to others in such a manner is appalling to me and absolutely wretched. This woman should be held to full accountability. No excuses.
Exactly! Typically the more the abuse goes on, the more you want to GET OUT because of your fear and glaring reality of the danger. For Maxine to decide to play along… during the act… and then also play along while the police WOULD HAVE HELPED Maxine - just put the nail in the coffin for her in my opinion. Also she must have known a lot about his disgusting and evil ways well before this evil day came to be. It seems Maxine never even reached out for help for herself - (if she ever first was abused by him) It seems highly ODD that an abused person just simply joins in, if that was the case. It seems like she made a conscious choice to condone the behavior - probably because she “loved and accepted” him. I’m not saying he wasn’t abusive towards Maxine. I believe he was, as there’s no way he was not manipulative or psychologically abusive, dominating, threatening. You don’t become a killer like this overnight, and become suddenly enlightened in evil calculations, calmly carrying them out in such a public setting. This guy was this way for a long time, and Maxine knew it. Maxine was okay with this… enough to cover him in his “worst” of times, she was devoted. She has covered for him many other times before… and he trusted her enough for Maxine to help. They were both truly fucked up. This time they just both got caught.
I really hope you're in a better place, healing, growing and thriving. May love always prevail for you and may you never face such horror again. Sending my love. 🥺🫶🏻🫰🏻💚😞😢

Good man for telling that woman to go back to the van, most people I imagine would want to see, I don't know if that's true actually,I would not want to see such a sight, I found my sister dead and I still have nightmares, she was missing for 4 days in Sydney summer so when I saw my sister it was something I can't actually articulate. But saving that woman from that sight was very good of him. You can't unsee what you saw. Ok I have to say this because I keep getting people saying nice things to me and you should know that I'm ok it was over a decade ago, IV seen a few dead bodies actually because I was a herion addict at 15 and I spent 5 years in prison at age 18 so don't feel bad for me I deserve Everything I get. And no I didn't hurt people but I was very good at getting money, so yes I changed in prison and I never touched heroin again. My family life was pretty sad but also great, I just found out my mum has cancer and omg I don't want to see my mum suffer. Everyone deals with the reality of life and death I am no different and remember I was in prison in the 90s so I'm not what you think. Please stop being kind to me I don't deserve it . Peace
I'm so sorry you had to see that. I saw a man get hit and killed by a speeding car in Adelaide nearly 10 years ago. A man and his young son were walking up to have a gander at the body and I begged him not to take his child up there. It still stays with me so can only imagine what it would do to a kid.
We were first to come across a base jumper who took a short final flight off a Tyrolean cliff face in 1992. What was left of him looked like vaguely human-shaped rubber tubing. Unpretty 😭
I am so sorry you saw that. I can't imagine. I went outside after an accident that happened in my babysitters front lawn. I saw a body smeared in the one window then I ran inside. I will never forget that. 3 people died.
I very much respect how the video mainly focused on the girls, their families, and everyone who was affected because that’s what should be focused on in all of these type of cases
Am I crazy, or shouldn’t the police have known something was wrong when Ian said the girls ASKED him if the gf had gotten the job, but then the teacher said Holly made her a condolence card, for not getting the job? WHEN did Holly have a chance to do that, when she supposedly died right after Ian told the girls that news? When he lured them inside?
As an ex-con, i can confirm anybody with charges relating to women or children are beaten and stolen from regularly, and in a lot of cases, daily! It really is a beautiful thing, that it brings us all together as one, no matter your race, religion, gang affiliation, political opinions, sexual orientation, etc. people will all join hands to punish societies worst! It's one of those few things we can literally all agree on, like cooking or wearing clothing.
Peace to you. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life; no-one comes to God except through Me (John 14:6). Jesus wants you to to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). All life’s answers are in The Holy Bible. Jesus said a person must be born again in order to go to heaven so it is so important to make a full commitment to the Lord. Only by repenting of sin and trusting in Jesus to guide your life are you spiritually safe for all eternity.

This is why I’m not taking any chances. If you’re a parent. Get your kids AppleWatch put trackers in the backpack, put strong perfume on them so dogs can find them. Always have security cameras. You cannot be too careful
Even then, it will statistically be most likely to be someone you know and at that point such an obsession with surveillance might end up being for nothing. That said, you have more to worry about from auto accidents statistically.
This remains one of the most remembered murder cases in Britain. Absolutely tragic and so sad. I took flowers to the church in Soham and wrote in the book of remembrance for them 😢 Huntley will never be freed, he's one of the most hated convicts ever. Marine Carr is still hated too, apparently she's married with a kid now, I still can't believe she knew nothing, she cleaned that house so well there was no evidence that the girls had been there!!! I hope they both rot in hell.
Those cop shows are definitely entertaining but doesn't quite go down like that in the real world . As for the teacher she probably was a really neat person or had an OCD ; I assume that due to her merely being a teacher/professional .
So much respect for Chris... He wasn't letting go of the investigation and proper got to the end of it. This happened when I was too young to fully understand. I see why it was a big over the news. It's sickening. I remember the news about him having a razor blade put under his cell door I believe, and I think it was done for him to take his own life. His throat was cut and I imagine it was by himself and they managed to save his life. I remember thinking 'why on earth would you want to save his life?' as it was said on the news like it was an achievement. I suppose he can't enjoy anything in life anyway - doesn't deserve enjoyment. Condolences to the families of Holly and Jess.
This case hits close to home for me. When I was around this same age my best friend and her friend were walking home from church and were kidnapped. They were found in the desert, dismembered and left in a ditch. Those are the only details I remember, I don't know if the monster that did this was ever found out.
I was only a year older than these girls, and I remember this time period. A lot of fear around the country for all kids. And even now, as soon as you said 'Holly and Jessica' I just got flashbacks of that time. Didn't know it was about these girls but instantly unlocked memories. Such a sad case, they'd be 31 this year... :(
This is a fantastic channel. I’ve seen this case covered twice before, but this video included so much more info. My heart goes out to the girls’ families. I can’t even imagine the horror.
Gahh man, my heart breaks for them. Ever since having my kid I can’t watch, listen or hear anything that has to do with stories like this without crying.
I appreciate this channel sending condolences before talking about victims and their families. Very little channels do this, and it makes a huge difference if you're going to report on tragedies like this.
Not trying to be a contrarian, just adding some nuance here, so please don’t think I’m being argumentative. But IMO it’s a very nice, but sort of empty platitude. I just don’t think the condolences are actually being heard or appreciated by the family or the victims. That said, it’s not a bad thing so I’m definitely not against it. I just don’t think it’s being very useful to the people it’s being addressed to. It does however note their compassion of the victims to us viewers who consume the media that is at the expense of the victims and the family, so for that reason I do appreciate it. I think it makes me feel better for being “entertained” by the story of such a horrible act. Consuming True Crime content can sometimes feel a bit “wrong” if it’s not done properly. It’s a fine line to walk between unethical and acceptable. The condolences at the start helps show us the channels intentions.
I'm sure the families were on the brink of ending it all, until they got that "tHoUgHts AnD pRaYeRs" from some strangers making money off their kids deaths
I remember this case and how horrified I was. I also remember applying for a job at a school and they were very strict, I was only employed in the office, I passed. I am so glad that I understand there was an investigation and it could not happen again. Ian had several tags to his name, it made it harder for me to work in a school until they cleared everything about my past, but I was cleared and it was a good job. Because of what happened the checks have been tightened up so much in the uk, and you do not get a life pass, everything is checked every couple of years to evaluate that you are still suitable. I am so sorry they died. But their case caused a major 're think about the checks carried out on people wanting to work in a place with children. It will never comfort their parents but their lives .made a really really good difference.
Burying them side-by-side is a sweet tribute to their friendship. I'd never have thought of doing something like that. Sad to bury two children at all, but kudos to whoever thought to do that!
I was the same age as these girls when they went missing. I remember the whole country being in mourning after they were found and in shock at who had actually done this to them... These beautiful girls could have been so much and it was cruelly taken away by someone they obviously trusted. RIP Jessica and Holly 🥀
I love how if you get busted with a joint you cant travel or enter some countries, but if you have multiple child abuse cases and all kinds of people making serious accusations.. its all good! Go traveling! Move somewhere else, no biggie🎉 what a joke
Yep. The sheer notion that some country thinks it has the right to bar me from ever setting foot on a major chunk of my planet's landmass just because I smoked the leaves of a plant really boils my piss. Almost makes me want to get busted just so I can challenge it. And, as you say, it places no such restrictions on genuinely dangerous predators. That's insane.
I'm so happy that channels like this exist, showing sympathy and treating each case with the dignity it deserves. It really feels like our world is changing socially for the better, and I think it is our enhanced connectivity which is leading the charge in this respect. Much love and respect from the US!
It is so horrible that, for a few minutes of wicked and twisted pleasure, that people like this man, destroy beautiful and promising lives. Just sick. I cannot imagine how the parents cope with the loss of their daughters. God save us, and our children, from monsters like this.
The caretaker was not a stranger to them. This is yet another thing we have to think about when talking to children. We don't want to frighten children but we need a way of getting it across that unfortunately even those you know, who seem nice, could in fact turn out to be a monster 😔
Especially since 90% of child sexual assaults (all sexual assaults in fact) are perpetrated by people the victim knows, not a stranger We have an image of a stranger jumping out of a dark alley and attacking, but in reality it's almost always a person known by the victim, family, friends, teachers, peers, colleagues etc I assume this wrong stereotype is partly because people don't want to think about the reality of someone you know or family even being predators
@@beththegreen I think it's also because "stranger danger" was such a huge focus for a long time (it was everywhere in the media and education) that people assumed it was more common. Strangers luring kids away or being opportunistic definitely is a thing (1% is still something) and there was nothing wrong with warning people to be cautious of unfamiliar people who are trying to get you away from a safe place, but it definitely skewed people's perceptions.
Thank you for your clear voice. This video had good audio, easy to hear and understand. Good work, the new investigator who cracked the case. And broke through the lies.

Agree. At the very least, she lied to everyone and destroyed evidence by helping to scrub the crime scene. She also very likely helped to dump the bodies and burn them. Unbelievable she only served months and got a new life with a new name, when those innocent little girls had their lives brutally stolen from them.
Just like that sicko Karla Hamulka. She changed her name, got married, had kids and walks free in Montreal. Just sick how these participating women always do a couple years, cop a plea and then live freely after all the disgusting crimes they commit.
I've been a fan of true crime for a while and never has a case made me cry before. I send my condolences to their families. Nobody should have to go through this, parents shouldn't have to bury their kids, it should be the other way around. I hope that monster never gets out of prision
It's always really wonderful to see the police taking a missing person case so seriously because sometimes it's not always like this but it's sad because if there was any other explanation other than the worst then they would have found them. It must be the worst time in a parents life, I can't even imagine 💔 and the man that said he saw them and told his wife that there were 2 little Beckham's makes me so sad because that's what most of us would say, we would see them and think how cute they were, we wouldn't hurt them. So awful that the sort of person that would hurt 2 beautiful children happened to see them.
@Nicola D oh believe me, there are lots of things that should get taken care of and don't. Usually parents get told they've just run away and it's too early to bother looking.
Oh man. I remember this case. I remember the media coverage, the hopes and fear during the days after looking for them and then the great sadness when the announcement was made that their bodies had been found. The all the anger rightfully directed at Huntley and Carr. It sit fine with me that Huntley have been repeatedly attacked in prison. Even criminals can't stand those that do harm to children.
I can't believe that this guy actually said "He was probably the last one to see them alive" [before anyone knew they were deceased] yet didn't get arrested immediately... I guess the Sherlock Holmes days are over.
Just because someone says something odd/weird, that doesn’t mean the police can just arrest them due to it! That’s exactly why, even after the police found out he didn’t have an alibi they _still_ couldn’t arrest him. It takes a lot more than that to be able to get an actual conviction and rushing any steps could’ve easily gotten him off.
@@Cassieshhhh-f4l So, what you're telling me, is if I get home to find a "loved one" deceased, [the cops already on scene] AND THE ONLY THING I KEEP REPEATING IS "I JUST GOT HOME" instead of "What the hell happened". I might get away with it ?
@@ascendantindigo271 Who said that? You clearly completely misunderstood what I said. Ian said the last time he saw the girls they walked past his house and asked about Maxine getting the Permanent job at the school, he said he told them that she hadn’t got the job and that the girl said “oh that sucks tell her we are sorry to hear that” and they kept on walking. So how is it that suspects partner Maxine (the girl that didn’t get the job)had a card from one of the little girls offering her condolences for not getting the job? That makes no sense.
I don’t understand how we are so tolerant of these kind of criminals, and we just put them in prison which accomplishes nothing and isn’t even really a punishment after a while. There should be extreme punishment and excruciating hard labor for criminals like this.
@@tonycowin that’s not strong enough cause there murderes, sometimes I wish people like this were punished in my country, the prison system there is hell! Not only hard labour but daily torture! So unfair that this is all he got and those girls are gone!

i think we should test products and medicines on criminals instead of animals. better results cause it’s the same species, and who cares if a murderer gets messed up from it? rather it be a criminal that gets acid burned by something than an innocent bunny or rat 🥺
Wow good on his parents for wanting to help the victims’ families get closure on everything. Maybe it’s best unsaid what that monster did to those poor little girls. Not many cases make me cry but this one did! They were far too young to die and they did everything right, but were still at the wrong place at the wrong time 😢
Murderers interject themselves in the case they are guilty of. I guess they can't help themselves. It's a wonder that there are any humans left in the world because of how badly they treat one another.
I've seen this case again and again, especially on RUclips (indeed, I remember seeing it on the news at the time), however, this video has brought to light things I've not heard before, so thank you, good job!
I like to think that Im a good person, I would never hurt or steal from anyone. HOWEVER if you were to leave me in a room with some of these disgusting murderers.... Im not sure I would come out of that room looking any better than them.
How could she have gotten a card from the girls about her not getting the job if Ian said he was the one to inform them just before they went missing surely that was the biggest red flag
2 sick individuals right there make me sick! how anyone could do something like this to those poor young beautiful innocent girls is beyond me May they rest in peace god bless them 😢😢 🙏
There’s a few discrepancies here. Not sure if it was the channel or the actual people involved. First, Huntley had said his wife wasn’t home and informed the girls she did not get a job at their school. That was the last time they were seen, right? But then the wife showed a letter from one of the girls saying sorry you didn’t get the job. So how did they write that if Huntley had just told them about it right before they went missing? That’s a pretty big red flag.
Youre right. Thats weird. Maybe they wrote the letter right after they found out. Werent they in the house? Maybe they did it there. Thats makes this thing even more sad
You know that for the families of these girls this feels like it happened yesterday instead of nearly 20 years ago. I can’t believe his accomplice basically walked. Unreal.
I'm not a fan of misery machine at all. The graphic details they disclose regarding abuse and death of children are entirely unnecessary, self serving and abhorrent. Thinly veiled sympathies for their cases contrast the stark manner they conduct their synopsis' and speak of the horrific crimes. Really they repulse me with their pursuit of shock value cases for no net positive end. It's WAY too much and distasteful for the victims memory. Despicable. @UKPP2_ROBRANTZ There is nothing in Google?
It sadly is a trend for women involved in these kinds of things to either go free entirely or be punished with extremely low sentencing.
I have watched a lot of reports on horrible crimes like these. and pretty much every time a woman is involved, the court punishes the man as the main perpetrator and either let the woman go free or punish her with 1-2 years in prison. Even when it is obvious that she was just as much involved as he was.
Are you new to real crime? There're much more brutal cases, full of days of torture and mutilations, this here is a regular grape murder.

I wish America took these background checks just as seriously😢
And now they allow drag shows, reading sessions etc. And perverted sex ed. Things kids need not know until they are old enough.

It seems Maxine never even reached out for help for herself - (if she ever first was abused by him)
It seems highly ODD that an abused person just simply joins in, if that was the case.
I wish you all the healing you need
I'm fucked in the head also
Yup. These women are just as evil and are enabling when they can go to the police anonymously if they're so afraid.

I cannot believe this is my first time hearing about this case, especially since I watch so much true crime. What a tragedy.

I’m so sorry that you had to see your sister like that, I hope you’re doing well now

Thank you for an honest and non sensational telling of Holly and Jessica. Their names are forever linked and remembered ❤
❤🇬🇧 ❤
I very much respect how the video mainly focused on the girls, their families, and everyone who was affected because that’s what should be focused on in all of these type of cases
Am I crazy, or shouldn’t the police have known something was wrong when Ian said the girls ASKED him if the gf had gotten the job, but then the teacher said Holly made her a condolence card, for not getting the job? WHEN did Holly have a chance to do that, when she supposedly died right after Ian told the girls that news? When he lured them inside?
Yes I noticed. Maybe he lured them inside asking if they wanted to draw a card for Carr .
I picked up on that as well
Maybe two different job positions she applied for?
English LE isn't known for their brilliant crime solving ability imo
The girls made her the card BEFORE. Ian lied about the whole interaction that the girls asked about her job promotion?

This psychopath killed them because he was a, wait for it, a psychopath!!!
No child abusers etc should ever be let out of prison.
RIP Holly and Jessica. (Thank you once again for your hard work, Beyond Evil).
This case hits close to home for me. When I was around this same age my best friend and her friend were walking home from church and were kidnapped. They were found in the desert, dismembered and left in a ditch. Those are the only details I remember, I don't know if the monster that did this was ever found out.
Oof that’s absolutely brutal. I’m so sorry that happened to you.
Was it in Tucson AZ?
Wtf that’s terrible
The school didn't check on either person's credentials?!! Incredible!
If they did that schools would have NO employees.
I was 8 when this happened I was petrified of school and going outside the UK was truly shook by this

This is a fantastic channel. I’ve seen this case covered twice before, but this video included so much more info. My heart goes out to the girls’ families. I can’t even imagine the horror.
i love this channel because it gives credit where it's due and has a little prayer (or words of kindness and safety) for the victims.
His girlfriend definitely had more to do with it, there’s no way she would help clean all that house without knowing what happened.

16:28 i keep looking at this photo and to me it looks like her face is scratched up.
Very respectful dedication to the victims in start of the video. May the families of these beautiful children heal. ❤️
Gahh man, my heart breaks for them. Ever since having my kid I can’t watch, listen or hear anything that has to do with stories like this without crying.
Just halfway thru, I am amazed that anyone would confess to seeing a victim right before their disappearance or demise, especially if they are guilty.
And say I was the last or possibly the latest person to see them alive. What a weird thing to say unless you're guilty
Sociopathic thinking.
Sociopath 100%. He was basking in his own glory. Hope that f**king worthless piece of crap gets the shit kicked out of him
Some criminals like to insert themselves into the investigation, either for attention or to find out what the Police know or to divert the Police.
I agree. It’s almost pretending to care as they put advertisements in the videos.
@@theworkscwthey say it on every single episode. I don’t think it’s fake empathy. If it’s fake, they wouldn’t keep it up this long
I agree. The way these videos are so very respectful to the families of the victims is one of the reasons I subscribed. I appreciate that so much.
Why? Just why would someone ever hurt 2 Beautiful Lil girls like that 😞
I remember this case and how horrified I was.
It will never comfort their parents but their lives .made a really really good difference.
wow that's amazing, Germans System ist still the "old" I think

Well done Officer Stevenson and thank you for your Service
It is so horrible that, for a few minutes of wicked and twisted pleasure, that people like this man, destroy beautiful and promising lives. Just sick. I cannot imagine how the parents cope with the loss of their daughters. God save us, and our children, from monsters like this.
The caretaker was not a stranger to them. This is yet another thing we have to think about when talking to children. We don't want to frighten children but we need a way of getting it across that unfortunately even those you know, who seem nice, could in fact turn out to be a monster 😔
Especially since 90% of child sexual assaults (all sexual assaults in fact) are perpetrated by people the victim knows, not a stranger
We have an image of a stranger jumping out of a dark alley and attacking, but in reality it's almost always a person known by the victim, family, friends, teachers, peers, colleagues etc
I assume this wrong stereotype is partly because people don't want to think about the reality of someone you know or family even being predators

Because we would hunt her down for the rest of her depraved life.

Such a tragedy. Great job putting this together.
Why would they not take 2 children seriously?
But that would seem like a fairly normal to say about someone who is at least FEARED to be dead.
@@TallSilentGuy Oh. I thought they were "feared" to be "LOST" when the "KILLER" ran his mouth to reporters. my mistake...?
Just because someone says something odd/weird, that doesn’t mean the police can just arrest them due to it! I don’t understand how we are so tolerant of these kind of criminals, and we just put them in prison which accomplishes nothing and isn’t even really a punishment after a while. There should be extreme punishment and excruciating hard labor for criminals like this.

I literally JUST scrolled down to your comment as I realized the same thing. That's bizarre.
I noticed that continuity error as well; one can so easily slip up. I thought Sky had spotted it too for a moment
I was wondering the same thing and how come it wasn’t mentioned
Youre right. Thats weird. Maybe they wrote the letter right after they found out. Werent they in the house? Maybe they did it there. Thats makes this thing even more sad
I think they took the card that day to Huntley and Maxine and invited them in. He passed it to her later. 😔
You know that for the families of these girls this feels like it happened yesterday instead of nearly 20 years ago. I can’t believe his accomplice basically walked. Unreal.
The murderer ALWAYS gets in front of these cameras
This channel deserves to be shown more in the algorithm it’s as good as dreading, EWU, misery machine. Good job guys! Well done presenting this case.
I actually think he's even better.
EWU and Dreading are incredible for storytelling without vulgarity. For me, those two, red tree ensemble and coffeehouse crime do it right and respectful from the outset
@@JackIsaacQ I’ve been seeing more and more of that myself actually. Finding myself horrified they would say certain things and wondering why they would.
