Yes, it works fine. Spec says 24v is max, but no problems with full 6s lipo (~25vdc). I was told, that smoke will escape at ~28v, so there is good tolerance from 6s.
Zain Ahmed, I don't really know. Those was some really old 3s lipos connected in series. Irons power consumption depends what Temps are set, what you are soldering, how intense your job is, etc. Ofc, some rough calculations can be done, for example, using iron for 5min, see from meter what was power usage, then calculate wh from battery's etc =) I would say, if you pick up some 6s 5000mah lipo, you will have great runtime from it :)
I don't know if you're interested anymore but I'm bored so if you'd use a 1200mAh 6s pack, which are pretty common, saying this thing used about 60W at 25v that means it pulls 2.4A, so you'd be able to run it for 30 minutes, which is a decent amount of time.
Good to know!
Огромное спасибо!
please could you link the 3d pritn file for holding the iron using a skate bearing, thats so smart!
Can't remember what that was, it may be remix by me or someone, search it from thingiverse.com.
Sorry
Kinda awkward that they don't write it in the spec, given that so many people use it with lipos
how much run time do you get with one of those batteries?
or both
