I’m 73 and each morning I put my headphones on , turn up the vol and dance to this song and “ Growl” They are meant to be danced to-altho “ tempo” has a catchy phrase. I get a great 1 hr workout. They are my fav group to dance to.

I guess the reason what makes Tempo a more fun easy song to listen to is that it’s NOT that vocally outstanding. Like yeah they have some pretty cool runs and a really amazing acapella segment that’s a new side to kpop but generally I think what makes the song more attractive is that everyone can sing along to it without straining themselves out too much, and it’s base vocal in particular for the chorus can match to that of both males and females

That's why it's addictive. Like even if the song ended my ears tend to produce a series of echo and it keeps on replaying the chorus part.

it’s always interesting hearing your comments on Chen singing live with them because the other main vocalists always say that they sorta envy how easy Chen can use his voice. But I do think it’s also really good strategy to assign each member their parts in a song and not go off based on popularity! Their individual strengths in their assigned roles really completes a song!

I don't know why a lot of people are so against him reacting to this (both fans and non fans)... I didn't request it cause I just watch whatever reactions come out haha, but if a reactor wants to react to something I feel like he has the right to do it since it is his channel. People can skip vids, no one's forcing anyone here - Sam isn't forcing us and we're not forcing him. If it was a patreon request or something, well that's how these things work right? If he promised it, he has to do it that's the right thing to do.
Plus, I actually like when vocal coaches react to less stellar performances. I keep urging some vocal coaches to talk about things to improve, but since people naturally ask them to react to performances that we know they slayed the coaches don't really have a lot of constructive criticism to say.

+Mina K i was actually surprised by the reactions too. I think it isn't that they did bad but that songs like this and performances like this don't really leave Sam with a lot to react to (like he said, there isn't much going on vocally). So I think it's a combination of his regular viewers thinking this isn't the type of video that he usually releases and also the fans wanting him to just see videos where the artist can show the best of the best, vocally. But as is typical of Sam, he was still able to find very good points to explain. I especially love the point on Baekhyun pulling chest voice because given what I know of Baekhyun it makes sense and I think he does it for the emotion factor.

I've been reading and looking for comment about Suho's incredibly beautiful and heavenly voice then realized it's easier to leave comment myself. Main vocal line is cool and great, and l love them a lot. But my Suho's voice comes not from throat and other parts of it, it comes from his heart. Its so clear, beautiful and heavenly. That is why I love Suho's voice much more than other main vocalists
He really shined this time around, not only Tempo, but in the whole album!! II'm so proud of how far he's come!! ^^

Sam is very objective, i think. Even fans know EXO is superb and their fans is enourmous, he will be objective, if they perform it beautifully, he will say it's beautiful, if there is part he is concern about he will just say it. It mean EXO still have rooms they need to improve, right?

Honestly, I usually don't understand half the things he points out in the reactions. I know little to nothing of vocal technique, but I still love to watch these, because there's bound to be something to learn, at least one or two facts to take home and broaden your appreciation for a song.
And I see some people puzzled by the choice of song, wondering why this was requested, I'm guessing it was because of the acapella part, maybe in curiosity to see if he had something to say about it. And it fascinates me how sometimes vocal coaches won't bat an eyelash for parts I go mad about, or stop to talk and point out things I didn't give much importance to or maybe even noticed. Like, man, I really know nothing about this, I just listen and feel and there's this whole world of depth to a song I can't even begin to understand. In Yixing's words, amazing.
I love how you remember Chen's voice and him! He's a remarkable vocalist and has some amazing (as usual) vocals on this album. There's a song-"smile on my face"- and the end is pure magic because it's like Chen's not singing those lines....he's producing music.💕

There are many groups who have had accapella parts in their song, or parts where they sing without instrumental accompaniment. Don’t disregard other groups just to make EXO look better

I think we should recommend songs that actually showcases exo’s vocals, Tempo is an upbeat song, it doesn’t have a lot to say vocally, even though it’s amazing
Elayne Brito it actually has, the problem is he reacts to the live one and with the dancing, nobody will be able to focus on the song itself... I just wish they will actually listen to Tempo with both earphones on, eyes closed and nothing to distract them.

You're so nice! They have good voices and who aren't "vocal line" have been training to improve. This song and this kind of stage isnt the best of them, because its a mixture of pre-recording and live vocals.
