The Indigo Experiment DK64 didn't use the EP for that. The EP increases RAM, not storage. The game just had a glitch that made it crash and using the EP fixed it.
Huh! Learn something new every day. Now I need to obsessively catalog how many total banana bunches there are to collect in DK64. I should be studying right now.
