Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, RUclips and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!

Ik this is really random BUT WEIGHTED BLANKETS ARE A GODSEND. Especially when i have very physical or violent tics it helps to force my body to be restrained and also helps to calm me down if thats the trigger

Wow! Medical cards with explanations and examples for people is a genius thing. It makes it officially valid for other people who can be skeptical. Also I loved the part where you said that they give you 25% extra time for exams. 🥺

    So you mentioned “chew necklaces”?
I don’t have Tourette’s but I do have ADHD and every time on a daily basis I open and close my mouth because I want to chew on something but I can’t chew on the acc I bring on my fanny pack and so I just make repeated sounds with my teeth and make beats, stuff n’ nonsense. So very useful for me! Thank you, Zara

THANK YOU SO SO SOOO MUCH!! I have been having tic's for a while now and I don't know why. I can't see a doctor and it's really hard for me.I am young (Under 15) And I have been having so much tic's and now tic's are just a part of my life. I only have motor tics and I don't ever get vocal tic's. I know what tourettes is but I am NEVER going to say I have tourettes if I am not diagnosed with it. But I am getting a Doctor's appointment soon I think JUST FOR MY TICS (They are going to exam it) But yes and this really helped me❤❤

It’s funny you said a big help with Tourette’s is music, my cousin who I grew up with has Tourette’s and he plays guitar as soon as he starts to play it’s like his tics disappear, he is so focused and does really well. Hearing you say it makes me a firm believer that music can help in so many situations

For me, I like to use squishies because they distract my hand. However, there are days where distractions are no use and I'll do stuff like throw them or just not get the chance to actually pick them up. And I also find that music helps, but not calming music, it needs to be loud so that it can sort of drown out my senses. Then I'm free, in my own world and can calm down a bit
