Hi Gad. Beautiful. I found these videos as I would like to learn the oud, I’m a total beginner and do not play any instrument. Do you give classes online? If so please let me know what is the best way to contact you for more info. Meanwhile thank you for the videos!

Hi Gad, Im a beginner Oud and struggling with this one a little. I think I see and hear what you are doing but its a little fast for me. You show two sequences; the first being Ab (upstroke) to G (downstroke). Then Bb (upstroke) to Ab (downstroke). Then it looks like you add them together; Starting the sequence with an open G downstroke followed by the fast Bb(u) - Ab(d), Ab(u) - G(d). Is that about correct? Thank you for any feedback! I really appreciate these lessons! I cant tell you how much they are helping me learn the little things.

Hi Lael, i think you described it right. And fast become slow if you imagen it is one stroke.
Can you mention the exact timeline? So i will be sure about it.

@@GadTidharOud Boker Tov. The two parts together are at 2:10. It leads into the defending run you close the video with. I think I have it. I just need to break the habit of using a pull off there.

@@GadTidharOud Boker Tov Gad, Another question concerning technique. At time mark 1:15 After the double stroke of La to Sol you transition up to the 3rd course / Fa. Is the Fa an up stroke or down stroke? I am naturally playing the Fa with an upstroke up,down,up. It looks like you are playing Fa with a down stroke up, down, down. is this a situation of preference or is there a reason behind the stoke order? Todah.

      @@laelgrant6757
Hi Lael, yes i take the Fa down stroke.
No specific reason to be honest. If the melody asks for the Sol to be with more accent, i would take the Fa upstroke.
Notice that the Fa and Sol, gets a seperate down strokes and the risha does not fall or slide down from string to string.

Hello Gad. I saw you mention that you are using Pyramid Lute strings. What scale is your oud? 58.5 or 60... + ? And what pyramid set are you using?
    Thanks
