These are meant to be purchased and then modified to transmit on the 11m band, so that you can operate with higher power than the legal limit. This is why it is still channelized. There are tons of radios like this on the market. RB is Roger Beep.
From what I have seen online and elsewhere, these sorts of "10-meter" radios that can be easily configured for "11-meters" are used more by CB'ers (for the extra transmit power, wink-wink) than by hams. Might not be something that is supposed to be said out loud, but it seems to be the case. Hence why there are those "CB-centric" features.
Hi Dave , Great Review I myself don't like that radio being that you have to fiddle around with more than 1 or 2 knobs to tune not alone from switches , I Love my President HR-2510 it tunes much easier on 10m and it is great for POTA also ,have already used it for that Once and plan for more next season . I don't know if your title is wrong or something but 100 instead of 10 Meter was an eyecatcher ,LOL 73 KC1USS Bob in Eastern Mass
Slightly off topic, but I've learned that I can't really use my FT5DR safely while driving. And I've been wondering if the higher end, menu-driven radios are really any better.
Personally I'm liking my anytone 6666pro. 10,12,15 meter radio. Yes it's set up much like cb but has vfo and operates like an amateur radio. If ya like channelized like cb it has that. I use vfo mode no eco or dang Rodger beep. The hs 4 I have no interest in.
Got one myself, and functional on 11 meter.yes it is. Your statement was false. It doesn't only operate on 10meter. 3 knobs no big deal..you never heard of cobra cb or stryker ?way more than 3 knobs to operate. Folks still doing it. Yall might need some more practice or just stay home 😂😂😂 Research research research 🤦

Yup. It’s a very simple solder mod and some have a password that you can use to unlock the radio.
No offense but you might want to change the description

Those radios are marketed towards cb users as they are easily converted

100-Meter clickbait, but it works 👍
