Today we are bringing to you another "One and Done". In this series we choose one product! Yes, you heard us right, ONE product. We will apply it to our freshly shampooed hair. It will be the sole product of the Video. It will have zero help from leave ins of any kind, liquid or otherwise, oils, additional creams or butters.....etc...etc....NOTHING. It's on it's own. Will it be a. M.A.D. CURLS approved curly haired product? Watch and see.
Remember, in order to be M.A.D. CURLS approved the product will have to meet 3 criteria. The first criteria will be moisturization, does it keep the hair moisturized throughout the day? The second criteria we will be looking for will be whether our curls have Curl definition throughout the day and lastly does the product encourage hold for our Curly style? Tay omg tbe papaya castor oil I hate it , the smell alone on my wet hair , damp hair too intense .I'm returning it .see you tomorrow .my nephew will be in can't wait
I feel you on the smell Angela, I found it rather strong when I first got mine too. I got used to the smell but am having issues with making them work for me because of the glycerin turning my hair into a puffball. So disappointing because they worked so well for TaylorAnne.

How long do your wash and go's last before you either shampoo or cowash?
Hello ladies!! This was a very informative video, but I also find that this gel flakes in my hair and I only do one and done wash and gos. I am really looking for a gel to use. Can you recommend a good non drying gel that isn’t sticky when dry? I’d really appreciate it!!

I think the bangs look gorgeous. Maybe not what you had in mind but gorgeous just the same. Ooh an idea as far as what changed with the bangs...did you have more highlights in that area before. Maybe the texture changed a bit with the highlight.
I bought an As I am coconut wash #MadCurlsMadeMeDoIt especially Taylor lol and I loved it. My hair is high porosity and always craves moisture so I decided to do a wash day sunday and a cowash Thursday.

I think you should just leave it and grow it out. Doing something just to fix it will maybe fix is at first but then there will be more problems you did not even think about yet. It looks good, no need to rush things

I would do a semi permanent color if anything and don’t do black! If you decide on highlights maybe try pintura. I really want you to try Olaplex. It’s so good! My hair was going through it and it has really helped. My hair has felt so much better and I lose a lot less hair. I’m losing less hair than I did before I was bleaching.

Beauties! I love these one & done videos so much, and your results are gorgeous! I find this gel to be an especially good 'day 1' gel, and I always keep some with me when I travel to humid places. #madcurlsmademedoit! Tay, I hope you'll please listen to Lorianne' s suggestion to "stop" and let your hair be and grow out. That's for several reasons: 1) it looks more stunningly pretty than you're giving yourself credit for; 2) colour or cutting now might make you less happy with it; 3) dark colour might slowly fade out unevenly on your lighter sections & be brassy; 4) I don't know if you can relate to this, but I think it's easy to get extra critical or demanding of our hair when we might actually be stressed about other things, or a bit bored, or overly busy, or whatever the case may be. Not saying that's true here, but perhaps worth mentioning if it helps anyone. But just know that whatever you decide to do, you're beautiful. I love tiny delicate sparkly hairpins, which can help when the bangs get a bit longer or to keep them off your face in the summer. Lorianne, I'm so happy that you're feeling better! Once, when my sister was growing out a Greg Brady cut, I kept trimming the bottom sticky outy bits for her until the rest grew down -- maybe now that the Mother's Day video shows how great Tay is at pampering your curls, you could let her snip those bits. And woot woot on 17K!!!!! xoxoxo

Lori I completely understand how you feel! I too have MS and my left foot is dropped. I have a custom brace for it but it makes it more challenging to walk. I have had my days were I think it's more noticeable than it really is. I've had a few people say they would never known without myfre telling them. Good luck on your journey, you have a great supportive daughter by your side and that means a lot! Hope everyone has a great day! 🤗🙂
I’m late. But video suggestion using Gemini Naturals products (I believe that’s the brand name 🤔) they have temporary hair color but I would love to see you guys with blue, purple, bronze, or whatever color you guys use. I’m not sure how it’ll effect your highlights but it’s a great experiment for those with bleached highlights. 🤷🏽♀️

I've been one and doneing Cantu twist and lock gel and having awesome results. Love the idea of one and dones. A lot of times we make things too complicated, sometimes it's best to simplify, not just hair but in everyday life.❤️ Glad you're feeling better Lori. Tay I'm still in love with your bangs . I'm finding out too that bangs are their own kind of animal.😂 Best to just let them do what they want . Great video as usual .
I keep thinking I want to try this gel, but when I go on my buying sprees I always forget about the brand lol. This definitely seems promising so I'll pick it up once I've emptied a few more products. Tay I think it would be super cute for you to go dark again even though I love your highlights. It would be a cute switch up!
Can’t they put brown lowlights in to blend all of it that’s what I’d do. No foils, just 20 volume with a 5 or 6 brown/ dark blonde.

I had highlights done in December and didn’t like them and how they dry out my coarse curly hair. Now I have a single process color and I wish it wasn’t so dark!😩. My solution is doing a color remover at the salon, which will leave me smelling like rotten eggs for 1-2 weeks 🤢. Not sure about growing out your highlights, Taylor. Maybe try a semi-permanent or Demi color? Your results look great 👍🏻💜

I totally get the struggle with bangs, Tay. Luckily, they grow fast so I’m able to wear them to the side if I feel like it. Oddly enough, I keep cutting them. I’m not ready to give up on them because I really love the look! 😂😂😭😭 Your hair turned out beautifully, ladies! 💕 And yes to the updated glycerin-free products video!

Taylor i agree i think you should put back darker and maybe try hair paint wax..blond just starts to look dull at one point (dry looking) if that makes sense..if u do go back dark maybe judt a few highlighrs!! Ever try celebluxry??

You are so right LoriAnne, we will have good hair then be quick and do something stupid lol! TaylorAnne what if you sprayed in nontoxic temporary highlights in the bare spots until your hair grows out. Also it's really not as bad as you think it is.

I think LA is right, just stop, be patient and grow it out, IMO. I grew out my dark brown color when my hair turned gray/silver and I stopped coloring it. Now, a year later, I've been taking a handful of vitamins (including biotin) for about 6 weeks-my dark brown hair came back!! After all that growning out and I'm back to mainly dark brown hair! I was so ready to go gray! Now I need a good gel. (Not loving the Alikay, maybe I used too much?)
I would not describe Island Fantasy as vanilla AT ALL. It's more of a light floral coconut.

Lori Ann, Have you tried a plant-based diet to treat your MS? My understanding is that it can reverse your symptoms to the point that you will no longer feel that you have MS any longer.

It never fails me. TA, I think you should dye your hair back to your natural color. Then take a little time before you make your next move. If you want hi-lites after that, have you ever considered Pintura Hi-Lites? DevaCurl stylist usually know how to do them. They actually paint on the color strand by strand, so you could go hard or just a little. Food for thought. The results for both of your hair is great, but I didn't expect anything less. Thanks for sharing.

How do you not get a musty smell in your flairisol spray bottle? I’ve bought two from Sally’s and after a while it smells musty. I have to run ACV through it each time I use it and leave it to air dry. You guys never complain about it.
Do a tangle teezer with the handle video. It is bomb.
I have that brush...it is great!
The bristles get into every area of the section to detangle without a lot of hair loss.
Also recently bought the Evolve Flow-Thru (pink) brush and used it for the 1st time today....awesome (and only $4). I like the longer bristles.
I would do a dark brown that way your highlight would be a medium light brown color.
Hello ladies. Great video and results with Jessiecurl. I think I will try this gel. Received my Eden Bodyworks Papaya Castor. I don't know Tay, I was not feeling my results, It made my hair dry and frizzy. I going to give it another try with some tweaks. It could be the glycerin in it being one of it's main ingredients. Congrats for 17k.; will see you on your next video.

I like the results! You've inspired me to do a comparative one & done; I just washed w/a moisturizing clarifying shampoo and am sitting w/moisturizing lite keratin condish for 7 mins. After I rinse, I'll part my hair in 4 sections & apply Aunt Jackie's Don't Shrink flaxseed gel, Design Essentials Honey Curlforming Custard (gel in a jar 🤣), UFD Curly Magic, and Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha to each section; then air dry. I'm 4a dry high porosity so we'll see how this comes out 🤣! At least I expect to find out which gel is most moisturuzing w/out any assist from a leave-in condish. I won't be surprised if I get a busted head of hay, though🤣🤣🤣🤣! #MADCurlsMadeMeDoIt

Jackie Johnson yes! the highlights would still show off the curl pattern, but they would be more delicate, plus the warmth would look beautiful with the complexion

I am desperately looking for something glycerin free or low glycerin that would be just as curl enhancing and give my 2c hair as much shrinkage as Moptop Custard. Any ideas? Does Spiralicious do that? Uncle Funky or Curl Maker? KCC? Alikay Creme Brulee? Pattern Pusha? Something else?

ocandro the new Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Stronger Hold is working very well for me in Humid Houston! I layer it on top of the Ouidad VitalCurl for a good mix of moisture and hold.

HollierFamilyChannel thank you for replying! I have the weaker hold (the strong one had glycerin high up, when I was buying it) and it's a great gel, but it has an annoying stickiness, that easily pulls, stretches or bends my ends.
Moptop has only the amount of stickyness needed to hold each lump, perfect crunch, elastic hold, long lasting moisture, shine and it really shrinks my curls up, it's such a unicorn product! I hope there is anything at least similar to it!
