Can I create more than 1 page layout for an Object?
Of course, you can!
yes, you can.
can i assign multiple page layout to one profile ?
Yes, you can do the same with the help of multiple record.types
What If We Hide A *Required Field?
Will i stil be able to Save That Record.
No
You cannot hide the required field in page layout. Even if you try to remove it from page layout it will show an error that "This field must be displayed on the page layout and cannot be removed."
I have read that Salesforce recommends 200 page layouts per object(Please confirm if it is correct). But in Salesforce, as there is 1 page layout by default per custom object so what is the meaning of the Salesforce recommendation then ? Please clarify
