Thank you so much be trying to make a working piston bolt in 1.14 for ages now and couldnt figure it out your video was brilliant!! ❤
Super helpful tutorial even 2 years later, tysm! Older designs kept popping up first on search and weren't working, so finding this video was a relief when it worked. Also easy enough to adapt to the flat, non-compact piston bolt design.
Thanks so much!! I have been looking for a working version for ages!!
epic pistonbolt of doom is back, very cool.
Nice. Now we can joyride in your base again!
The issue with the repeaters has to do with how when you power a repeater directly from a button or lever, it only produces half a redstone tick of delay.
Thank you so much. Do you know if there will be any chances in 1.17?
If youre having trouble on getting the diagonal to straight part working I found a fix for it. In the part where there are 3 repeaters next to each other on top of the third one add a block, and if that doesnt work add +1 extra delay on one the 3 repeaters
great video! One problem I had with it - the center blocks aren't spawnproof, and since they need to be powered I can't swap them out. Building this on the nether roof so that's a big problem, had to use a different design... after building yours. Might be nice to mention in the vid/description?
As I commented somewhere down below, if youre on the nether roof, you can put the redstone behind the pistons and power them from there without needing to power the blocks below. This is just the most compact. Or just put for example half-slabs 1 block above the solid blocks.
For anyone wondering still works in 1.18
What a legend been almost 2 years and this designs still moving 👍
Thanks for verifying! I'll change the title and description accordingly :)
great for the server I'm on that disallows ice boats and elytra
Thank for this new design. But I don't know if messed up somewhere (I tried multiple the configuration at the piston bolt's start), but to get working the straight to diagonal transition, I have to set the last outer repeater (of the straight piston bolt) to 3 ticks.
I'm playing on 1.16.1
I just tested the exact design shown in the video and it worked, where exactly does it break? Maybe you exit the bolt on a different block
Java 1.18, it works perfectly! If it doesn't work properly on the connection between the straight line and the diagonal, try to put the first repeaters on the diagonal pistons one 2-ticks or try other things, it should work in the end.
I needed that thanks a lot :D
Btw ru german? cuz u kinda have the same accent like ilmango
req is now mad that he has to tear up the entire line he's done so far... but at least it'll work now hahaha xD
Is there a version of this where you don't use the compact design, since I don't want to have to break that much bedrock on the nether roof. Other than that, great vid, thx for showing it.
Look at the exact repeater timings and then put the redstone behid the pistons, it should work
I can’t get the transition back to straight working with a bedrock roof design instead of compact
well i have a problem with my diagonal piston bolt design that the "curve" to straight is not on a repeater but on a dust end and i cant figure out how to deal with that.
Works exactly the same for me, just make sure to also turn away the repeater that comes after the dust so it doesnt wrongfully power the going straight part again
Wow you sound like you're really really ridiculously good looking.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dose it work on bedrock
For the diagonal piston bolt, the first repeater powers the Redstone dust but the Redstone dust doesn't power the second repeater
late reply but dont turn the redstone dust into a dot or it wont work
Just build one in 1.20.1 and the diagonals get stuck after a long distance
It could be lag or the cart is just a bit slower than the pistons so it falls off after a while
the straight to diagonal isn't working, all the pistons fire after filling in the blocks but the minecart doesn't continue travelling
Works just fine in my testing. Make sure the rails have the correct orientation.
doesnt work on mine, it just goes 2 rails and stops every time i push the button got version 1.14.3 runnin on pc
Make sure the rails are aligned correctly and the repeater timings are right as well
@@PommesPeterZK what tiks should the timing be?
@@GuyBGutRumbler 1 tick standard delay on a straight path
@@PommesPeterZK thanks, will try out after work :)
has anyone had the problem where on longer straight lines you only make it like half way
edit: nevermind i found the problem, i play on a server with claims, and one was messing with the redstone
Can client lag break piston bolts?
In single player, maybe.. On multiplayer no, there server-lag could though
There not the fastest but there so cool to use why I like them
does this work in 1.16?
Yes it does
would prefer you really didn't put redstone underneath. These things are only useful in the nether on the roof
why isnt my piston bolt not working
Where exactly does it break?
@@PommesPeterZK it wont push the mine cart
@@frogeater8637 At which point? Because I just tested the design in the newest 1.16 again and it worked perfectly
@@PommesPeterZK the first piston
@@PommesPeterZK i did the thing like the repeaters under each piston and it kept eating my minecart into the piston arm
Is it just me or is it that this doesn’t work on pocket edition
Since when did ANYTHING that works on java work on pocket?
All bedrock devices lack quaza connectivity. You can’t power a block.
redstone on bedrock is completely different, it won’t work at all
Rip, doesn't work for me
Why not just use Blue Ice and boats?
This is much cooler and elegant! :D
and you don't have hold w for 10 minutes straight on long journeys. Just push the button and go get cuppa tea
Because blue ice costs 81 normal ice per block.
@@Jmandude5 I feel like your one of the ones that shouldn't complain about cost of ice. Lol
blue ice also begins to lag the server, so in theory you can go really fast but you actually aren't. sometimes you run into unloaded chunks which by the time you do would reset your boat speed back to 0, quite annoying at times vs what jared said where you can relax and do whatever
does it work in 1.17?
Yep! Just tested and confirmed it works!
