Personally, I would discard saree #2. For a formal event I would have chosen a darker one. Saree #3 was amazing but I know you liked and bought #1 :) Still, all 3 sarees looked beautiful on you!

You should try Seematti which is opposite of Chennai Silks in Kochi next time.... You will amazed to see very innovative designs and collections. Infact, Chennai Silks have more traditional/conventional designs, while Seematti has much more rare, unique designs, mostly exclusive boutique kind, but not that costly (almost at par with any other). I see your this saree is more conventional kind, more of typical Tamil styled. Seematti would have more modern designs as fit for youngsters in formal settings.

Chennai silks, RMKV, Pothy's all from *Tamil Nadu* *Pothy's* very big store in Bangalore. Around 5 floors store. Each floor for different section. *Kanchipuram* Sarees are really famous. It's available in stores . It is even cheaper, if you go and get it in Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu)

O.m.g. help, please! I will be visiting India in mid-late January for the first time as well as attending a traditional Indian wedding and I don't know where to shop for formal attire! Cities I'll be in: Mumbai and Jaipur. The Chennai Silks is sadly so far south from these that I can't reach, but I wonder if you know of any other amazing places to shop? Jaipur and Mumbai are both extremely good for shopping. Get a good hotel and ask the local staff for help or ask your local friends to advise you on shops. Also ChennI Silks is all over the country ao might be worth checking if they maybe are in Mumbai too. Have fun!!!

If you are fond of silk sarees then you should visit Kanchipuram. Its famous for silk sarees. You will get many variety and price is lot cheaper compared to other places. Its about 250KM from Bangalore towards Chennai.Apart from sarees it is famous for ancient and temples.
