I personally think that this is one of THE most kickass live Who jams of all time. I had a bootleg of b-side and live stuff in it back in the 80’s and this was the last song on that bootleg (lp). Same version and gig as this one. I used to crank this up and demonstrate it to friends on excellent speakers in my car while cruising around. And every person who listened to the experience while I drove around sort of crazy wanted an encore. My driving was okay, I guess- but I’m pretty sure it was the jam that hooked them: hahaha! I was glad to later find out more about this show and performance. I’m actually not sure if it’s Detroit Cobo Hall or California, though. I have seen other people call it Fillmore West ‘71, which could actually be correct since they also played Long Beach (my home town) in December 1971. Nonetheless-- THIS version is a golden prize WHO capture and I’m sure as hell glad it got recorded on a soundboard and released to WHO fans . It’s awesome!!! Up there with Pontiac Stadium 75 -Join Together. Quintessential WHO Live material for sure.
And this one of the best live tracks of the greatest live rock band in the world.....I watched 'em in Manchester in 1975.......the King's Hall Belle Vue. Oh Jesus Christ.....
The Who died halfway when Keith died, but losing the Ox was the cardiac arrest. The heart of the Who is gone and I won't watch the corpse of the Who exploited for profit by Towser and Roger.
Best live rock band of all time no discussion no argument. Say what you will about the ridiculous endless greatest hits releases and lack of good new material in 40 years but in their prime 67-75 or so, The Who were untouchable live. Live at Leeds 50 years on is still the best live rock album ever recorded.
THE WHO 'BEST is magic band ! i love old red wine ha ha ha ⭕❌🕷️🌗🎸🎤🎹♂️ rip John et Keith ( Guy platteau Marseille France 😎 )
They are absolutely on fire here.
Their best live take by a country mile. The power. Jesus. The power......
John fucking Entwistle, the absolute greatest bass player of all time

I used to play the shit out of that. Aged 15, '73. (air guitar). :)
When "B" sides were actually "A" sides. God Save The Who!!!!

Yes Sir, the greatest 👍🎵🌟
DAZZ true. Everytime I listen to some of their old stuff from 1972 or 3 I am reminded of WHO WAS THE MOTHERFUCKING BOSS HERE!
Keith's drums, Young Man's Blues 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@doncavallacci218 100 pour 100 raison il n'y a pas photo ni meilleurs who IS the who IS the n'est band allez of Time ( Guy platteau Marseille)
I think I wore out my 45 of this one. Moon CRUSHES it!
Clearly the blueprint for "The Real One" which came out 2 years later. Pete and John's parts esp. and the stop/start dynamics of the verses too.
The Real Me
Fantastic "OX" solo in this one.
Yes! This is the one I remember from the B-side of "Join Together".
This is The Who I remember classic live track should have been included on the expanded version of Live At Leeds.
Just so damn awesome
Love it, used to have the single back then in the 70's.
The WHO 'BEST TOWNSHEND BOSS 👍🎸🎤🥁⭕❌🆗 ( Guy platteau Marseille France 😎 )
Gibson SG Specials and Hiwatts; the best Who period.
This is the B side of the 45 single "Join Together "
2:25-2:50 flying
Listen for the “Fucking astronauts!” at the beginning, right after “Put your hands together!”
'Clap now' I think!!😄
Fucking clap now!!!
Daltrey really was the benchmark back then . Planty and Gillan were stiff in comparison .
The b side of Join Together
Better than SLADE
Jesus Christ!
Is Lord 😉🙏
