I know you will probably never see this. Did you know that Buddy had straightened out Heidi's gravesite after the flood. When the water had started to recede and he was out checking on things he noticed Heidi's grave in disarray. Thought that was the sweetest thing.♥️♥️

Norma here. When I first got married, my husband had one cast iron pan. I hated that thing. Probably because I knew nothing about them. It was so heavy and would get rusty. I would scrub it and oil it, but I finally got rid of it. I wish I knew then what I know now. Anyway, I now have a cast iron Dutch Oven that I use to bake my bread. Yes, I finally started baking bread. 😊😊 The lid also as serves a skillet. I use the lid for homemade biscuits or bacon and eggs. That’s all I really need. I’m sure Lester and Jami would love to have a few of yours, maybe even Kim, Buddy and Dustin. Better to give them away than have them sit collecting dust. You have so many. You sure worked hard scrubbing all those pots and pans. You must have dishpan hands, especially using all that bleach. Ben is a wonderful grandson. Have a wonderful day. That was quite the job! My father-in-law used to keep his old cast iron up near the rafters decorating the barn. Even farm implements were hanging from the barn walls. I got to share a story with you: Back in the late 90's I lived on a 148-acre farm in Oxford, NC. We were standing on the back porch watching a huge thunderstorm moving toward the house when we realized it contained a tornado. It was about 2 miles from us when it lit up the sky with a blue flash as it destroyed a transformer and lifted off a neighbor's roof. We rushed to the pantry room between the dining room and the kitchen and slammed the door shut. The dogs beat us to the room! Both the golden retriever and the chow were tucked under the shelves. We quickly looked around and realized what a bad idea this actually was as hanging on three walls on large and small meat hooks was the cast iron collection! Back open the door went and out when the cast iron and any hooks we could get off the walls. Luckily, the tornado jumped over our property and came down again about a mile away. It picked up another neighbor's garage and slammed it into his brick house before disappearing back up into the sky. Clean up at our place was very simple--back up went the hooks and cast iron. I only have 3 cast iron fry pans now and no meat hooks!

I don't know Pawpaw, those red Crepe Myrtles are quite striking, seen several around my neighborhood. I have one cast iron, a grill pan. Love it. I grew up on cast iron cornbread though, my mama made the best. I hope you're taking breaks and remembering to hydrate in this heat Pawpaw, your pups too. Good morning. I heard someone say one time that when you pass your family is not going to fight over your T-fal pots and pans 🤣 you can use soap on them now because our dish soap doesn’t have lye in it like it did years ago and won’t strip the seasoning off. I saw a man cut a potato in half and scrub them with kosher salt to remove the rust. You can also soak your rusted cast iron in 50/50 white vintage and water. I just bought some old cast iron from someone and they need a lot of work. Wish me luck!!!
Great job cleaning all the pots and pans. My hands would be pruny and wrinkled with that bleach water. Plus, i would break my nails, and I can't have that, lol. Job well done

It looks like a lot of work scrubbing all those pots and pans. There won't be any kind of germs on them with all the bleach your using. Yep seasoned cast iron has to be done. Lester will be there in a minute if you ever want to give some away. I have one big cast iron that my mom gave me 50 years ago. I love it and it's all I use when ì cook.i try to explain to my grandaughter not to use soap. It's not sanitary she says. I tell her leave it for me,to clean. I'm so glad you got the cast iron cleaned and scrubbed. ❤❤❤

Good Monday morning papaw.. your crate myrtles are gorgeous. I have a few around my home as well. A couple white ones an a pink one. They sure do make for a pretty little shade tree. I have hung a few of my windchimes from the branches since my porch was taken in the early may tornados here in central Arkansas.. my son went an found majority of my chimes afterwards. He said they were lodged at the base of a tree that was uprooted an landed at the beginningof our little road. So weve cleaned and fixed them an they now hang in the few trees i do have left.
Good morning pawpaw. Drinking a great cup of coffee this morning and enjoying your video. You taught me so much about cast iron and how to clean and take care of. I have so many pieces from Rogers “Maw” and his mom. A couple pieces I do believe I could fry an egg in them and they wouldn’t sick…I love cast iron for my biscuits and cornbread. Nothing better than cast iron for those two staples at our house. I have a little metal piece that came from Amazon that cleans them and I can’t remember if you showed one on your video, or if it was someone else. Please let me know if you have one or not. It a metal, big like mesh that’s about three inches by four inches . Even came with a ring that you can hang it with. I love it. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks with us. ❤🙏🏻
Hi Pawpaw, I did some research on crepe Myrtle’s and found that the colors can vary a bit on the same root but there’s nothing you can do to change the color or deepen the color. I’m in zone 4/5 and cannot grow them here so I enjoy seeing yours! My garden is going crazy.. have blossoms on beans, cukes, tomatoes and peppers. That chicken manure I worked into garden last fall really has worked well.

I love old cast iron. I have quite a bit and will have to thin mine out too. I have mostly griswold because it's lighter and thinner and cooks like a dream. I love the smoothness. The really old pans were smooth because they used sand molds and they sat in them for hours. My son appreciates a good cast iron pan. I gave him a really nice frying pan he uses, and I'll probably give him a few more, but I think that's all he wants. My daughter doesn't want any, so I will probably sell them if there isn't anyone in the family interested. I rarely would ever need the big pieces at this point in my life. You're right though. Sometimes theres a reason one gets dirty enough you have to give it a good scrub and reseason. It's hard to imagine these are over a hundred years old and cook better than a lot of what's in the stores today. Thanks paw paw for your daily videos. I always look forward to them, whether it's the animals antics, checking the field and the cows, time with family, seeing your garden, just seeing how your doing and hearing you joke and laugh, and of course taking a ride out to Heidi's garden❤

Morning pawpaw , you sure had a lot of cast iron to wash up after the flood , I’m glad you were able to get it scrubbed up well and ready to be used or re-homed as needed ! It’s easy for those of us who love cast iron to get several pieces we don’t use that often or at all , I know I have several pieces like that myself ! We just love it so it’s hard to part with, but sometimes it’s easier if going to family members who you know will love and enjoy using it !! When we think of our ancestors I’ll bet they only had 1 or 2,baking sheets , 2 or 3 skillets and 1 or 2 large cooking pots , if that many , they just knew what they needed and they knew what sizes they needed !! But of coarse they didn’t have all the storage like we do either which makes it easier to collect and keep more !! You’ll decide in time what serves you best and what needs a new home ! One thing for sure whoever is lucky enough to get any of your cast iron will love it and use it and think of you everytime they cook on it . I don’t know who will get my cast iron my son doesn’t like it use cast iron , but maybe he might keep a piece because it was mine , I don’t know !! Anyway pawpaw you did a great job cleaning up all those pots and pans and lids !! I hope you had a great rest of your day and a real good meal after all that hard work !! I remember back in the mid 70s when we moved to the city my sister begged our daddy for a dishwasher. Like you he said he already had 2. You and your sister! One of my Aunts always put a little bit of bleach in her dishwater and rinse water. She washed dishes by hand and said they were more sanitary that way. I'm in my 60s and as far as I know she's still washing her dishes like that. Everybody needs a good cast iron pan to make a cake of cornbread and to fry a pan of taters. Some how they ALWAYS taste better coming out of a cast iron pan. You shouldn't need a bath but from the waste up otherwise you've been cleaned and sanitized.
I have a few cast iron pans but am still looking for a nice old Dutch oven. Would love to see the Morrow men do an old fashioned cook out back in the back. Kiss my boy for me...Love from Canada❤
Have you seen the really Deep Purple Crepe Myrtle Trees? They are beautiful. I would love to have one. I have a pink, couple of reds & a white one. But the deep Purple is just stunning. I cook with cast iron almost daily. Nothing cooks like them. The older I get seems the heavier they get. Lol...Please send us some of that rain, really dry on the coast of NC. ❤

Hello pawpaw from hyden ky I was gonna tell you that all you have to do is cut you a piece of your pink and purple tree get you some root starter and you can start your own tree from the ones you and hedi got I do all my trees shrub plants I have started me some more rose bushes from my own just planted one this evening and I didn't even use the root starter just put in in potting soil kept it extra damp .but give it a try.you got a green thumb .

Good morning. I heard someone say one time that when you pass your family is not going to fight over your T-fal pots and pans 🤣 you can use soap on them now because our dish soap doesn’t have lye in it like it did years ago and won’t strip the seasoning off. I saw a man cut a potato in half and scrub them with kosher salt to remove the rust. You can also soak your rusted cast iron in 50/50 white vintage and water. I just bought some old cast iron from someone and they need a lot of work. Wish me luck!!!

It looks like a lot of work scrubbing all those pots and pans. There won't be any kind of germs on them with all the bleach your using. Yep seasoned cast iron has to be done. Lester will be there in a minute if you ever want to give some away. I have one big cast iron that my mom gave me 50 years ago. I love it and it's all I use when ì cook.i try to explain to my grandaughter not to use soap. It's not sanitary she says. I tell her leave it for me,to clean. I'm so glad you got the cast iron cleaned and scrubbed. ❤❤❤

Good Monday morning papaw.. your crate myrtles are gorgeous. I have a few around my home as well. A couple white ones an a pink one. They sure do make for a pretty little shade tree. I have hung a few of my windchimes from the branches since my porch was taken in the early may tornados here in central Arkansas.. my son went an found majority of my chimes afterwards. He said they were lodged at the base of a tree that was uprooted an landed at the beginningof our little road. So weve cleaned and fixed them an they now hang in the few trees i do have left.

Good morning pawpaw. Drinking a great cup of coffee this morning and enjoying your video. You taught me so much about cast iron and how to clean and take care of. I have so many pieces from Rogers “Maw” and his mom. A couple pieces I do believe I could fry an egg in them and they wouldn’t sick…I love cast iron for my biscuits and cornbread. Nothing better than cast iron for those two staples at our house. I have a little metal piece that came from Amazon that cleans them and I can’t remember if you showed one on your video, or if it was someone else. Please let me know if you have one or not. It a metal, big like mesh that’s about three inches by four inches . Even came with a ring that you can hang it with. I love it. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks with us. ❤🙏🏻

Hi Pawpaw, I did some research on crepe Myrtle’s and found that the colors can vary a bit on the same root but there’s nothing you can do to change the color or deepen the color. I’m in zone 4/5 and cannot grow them here so I enjoy seeing yours!
My garden is going crazy.. have blossoms on beans, cukes, tomatoes and peppers. That chicken manure I worked into garden last fall really has worked well.

I love old cast iron. I have quite a bit and will have to thin mine out too. I have mostly griswold because it's lighter and thinner and cooks like a dream. I love the smoothness. The really old pans were smooth because they used sand molds and they sat in them for hours. My son appreciates a good cast iron pan. I gave him a really nice frying pan he uses, and I'll probably give him a few more, but I think that's all he wants. My daughter doesn't want any, so I will probably sell them if there isn't anyone in the family interested. I rarely would ever need the big pieces at this point in my life. You're right though. Sometimes theres a reason one gets dirty enough you have to give it a good scrub and reseason. It's hard to imagine these are over a hundred years old and cook better than a lot of what's in the stores today. Thanks paw paw for your daily videos. I always look forward to them, whether it's the animals antics, checking the field and the cows, time with family, seeing your garden, just seeing how your doing and hearing you joke and laugh, and of course taking a ride out to Heidi's garden❤

Morning pawpaw , you sure had a lot of cast iron to wash up after the flood , I’m glad you were able to get it scrubbed up well and ready to be used or re-homed as needed ! It’s easy for those of us who love cast iron to get several pieces we don’t use that often or at all , I know I have several pieces like that myself ! We just love it so it’s hard to part with, but sometimes it’s easier if going to family members who you know will love and enjoy using it !! When we think of our ancestors I’ll bet they only had 1 or 2,baking sheets , 2 or 3 skillets and 1 or 2 large cooking pots , if that many , they just knew what they needed and they knew what sizes they needed !! But of coarse they didn’t have all the storage like we do either which makes it easier to collect and keep more !! You’ll decide in time what serves you best and what needs a new home ! One thing for sure whoever is lucky enough to get any of your cast iron will love it and use it and think of you everytime they cook on it . I don’t know who will get my cast iron my son doesn’t like it use cast iron , but maybe he might keep a piece because it was mine , I don’t know !! Anyway pawpaw you did a great job cleaning up all those pots and pans and lids !! I hope you had a great rest of your day and a real good meal after all that hard work !! Hey pawpaw! ☺️ You can take cuttings off your crepe myrtles and stick them in the ground or in a flower pot and the will start roots! I've done it with mine several times. It works! 😊

I remember back in the mid 70s when we moved to the city my sister begged our daddy for a dishwasher. Like you he said he already had 2. You and your sister! One of my Aunts always put a little bit of bleach in her dishwater and rinse water. She washed dishes by hand and said they were more sanitary that way. I'm in my 60s and as far as I know she's still washing her dishes like that. Everybody needs a good cast iron pan to make a cake of cornbread and to fry a pan of taters. Some how they ALWAYS taste better coming out of a cast iron pan. You shouldn't need a bath but from the waste up otherwise you've been cleaned and sanitized.

Have you seen the really Deep Purple Crepe Myrtle Trees? They are beautiful. I would love to have one. I have a pink, couple of reds & a white one. But the deep Purple is just stunning. I cook with cast iron almost daily. Nothing cooks like them. The older I get seems the heavier they get. Lol...Please send us some of that rain, really dry on the coast of NC. ❤

Hello pawpaw from hyden ky I was gonna tell you that all you have to do is cut you a piece of your pink and purple tree get you some root starter and you can start your own tree from the ones you and hedi got I do all my trees shrub plants I have started me some more rose bushes from my own just planted one this evening and I didn't even use the root starter just put in in potting soil kept it extra damp .but give it a try.you got a green thumb .
I mentioned Lester should make you little smokies and wrap them so you could freeze them for snacks😂❤😂
