@@brendagil5876 First time going to try here. Ill give it a shot and let you know how it works out (probably within 3 weeks if you wan wait). Right now, I am deciding which kit to purchase from Amazon.. many have great reviews, but a certain percentage of the 1 stars hold me back. Some aftermarket screens will crack in your pocket.
I just used this to replace the screen on an old iPhone that my daughter is using as an iPod. Your video was really helpful and helped me feel confident enough to tackle this project! Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Thank You, for your instructions. My daughter broke her 7plus and I have the three fixit kits my wife bought me for Father’s Day. So all I have to do is to order the screen from your link and hopefully my 67 year old eyes can see to do this replacement. Keep doing your videos, I love them, and they are straight forward, and should help the non-techies.
Awesome work man... love the fact that it’s a 6 minute video and covers everything! Thanks for posting this. I’m going to replace the screen and battery on my IPhone 7 sometime in the next few days and I’ll be sure to watch your video several more times!
Thank you! Managed to repair in 2 hours. Clear and concise. I’d definitely recommend making a list of the screws you take out and where they come from. Remember to just be gentle and patient and you cannot fail! Peace
Something I like to do is stick the screws to a piece of paper using tape and then write next to them (or even draw up a rough diagram) of where each screw came from
I just successfully did a replacement for Iphone 7 plus, excellent video. I found some screws hard to take off, maybe its the screw bit, thanks so much for the vid
I just installed a new screen in my 7 plus. It powered up and the home button worked. It asked for my password and I found that the touchscreen wasn't working. I figured that I must have gotten a bad replacement screen......BUMMER! Well I decided to do a hard reset and to my surprise all functions on the phone now work as they should. If anyone has issues after install try a hard reset. Worked for me!
Thanks Jerry! I was able to fix my 12 year old son’s hand-me-down phone screen thanks to this video. I had him play surgical nurse while I played surgeon. I hope he learned a little about repairing electronics in general, but most importantly that he can learn useful and valuable skills from RUclips University. Our local phone repair place wanted $100 to do this job. The screen/digitizer/LCD kit was only $18 on eBay. He can afford $18, but would have had to wait months to save $100. Another valuable lesson. Ice cream...his is Cookies & Cream like you. Mom likes Mocha Almond Fudge. 😊
I mean, I have an Honor 8, a screen is literally $25, I replaced mine because it got cracked on a road falling straight face-down. Then I fixed it, hooray! Now it has a transparent glass back like JerryRigEverything did with the S8 and LG G6
Soft-spoken and, outstanding on pointing the cautious and watch-out points. Good job bro easy to understand, no need to keep rewinding to hear what are they saying at least for me
Exactly 2 hours, 1 cigarette, and 1 can of coke later, I have replaced the screen. Thank you very much for this video, but I would rather be hit by a truck than do this again. +1 for chocolate chip cookie dough.
Thank you for this video because yours included information that was not evident in other videos. I have replaced Samsung screens before and now have my first iPhone screen to repair. When I replaced it, I did not remove that bright colored film on the new screen. My repair made my phone inoperable. I reinstalled the old screen and still nothing. First time I’ve ever messed up. I may go through it again following your directions. I also lost a couple of those insanely tiny screws sooo, lol. I also had trouble getting the top of the phone’s 3 longer clips to stay in to secure the screen on. I don’t know, lots of issues, but thank you for your thoroughness and great instructions!
I know. Dudes a fucking idiot. And then he doesn't even show it I had to go to I fix it. At least their website you can scroll around and see decent pictures explaining everything that you can zoom into and stuff. This guy's a fucking joke

iPhone 8's and newer don't work with replacement displays - it's Apple's tactic to make sure you get it repaired by them. They have a chip that detects when the display has been replaced and disables the phone. Take it to Apple for repair.
My 7plus just cracked, (a tiny one by the corner), and I'm deciding whether to replace the screen at the store for $150 or DIY. Great vid! Been going without a case the past 8 years but finally it fell out of my pocket during a new hobby, running. Favorite recent ice cream is Blue bell's cookies and cream, which has oreo in it!
patrick roland u lose it if you replace the home button MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE SAME ONE BECAUSE REPLACING IT WILL NOT GIVE U ANY TOUCH ID FUNCTION and if you rip it you’re out of luck because only apple can fix that if you want Touch ID
I just repaired my iPhone 7 Plus screen. It was so complicated, I broke the camera flex so now I have to buy a new one. I spend my whole afternoon doing it. Thanks your video was very helpful. :)
why not repair the waterproofing adhesive? or incapable of getting the right stuff? just wondering. I have never seen you properly repairing any waterproof phones.
The waterproofing adhesive is still hard to come by. I just did a video on the iPhone 7 screen replacement and found that out. It should be readily available soon though I would think.
Smart Easy Repair you can use silicon adhesive to waterproof the phone. They also sell silicon spray. You can literally take apart any phone, spray the chip with a few layers and have your phone be fully waterproof. Granted you have to do it properly and it still needs to be able to fit back in, but it's definitely doable with some effort.
Zack I love your videos and everything (especially the atmosphere and narration)...ever since the battery replacement vid of iphone 5! But it would've really helped to either not let it appear as easy/quick as the video shows. (or add even more pointers at the end of the things that occasionally can go more difficult) e.g. 1) the front camera assembly cable seems to be two separate cables glued to each other, more easily splitting from each other than from the chassis of the phone. this might be due to the age of the phone and the adhesive getting very dry (even heating for multiple minutes was not enough at first 2) peeling off the home button was even tougher + the middle Y screw on the home button itself is the only screw that broke multiple screwdrivers on me, while the rest of the Y screws on the phone and the same home button bracket came off with no issues. I've done repairs for multiple iPhone 5, 5S and 6S based on your vids, but had I known this one would be that damaging I would've preferred to bite the bullet and hand it in to a repair shop on the one. (the front speaker/cam cable I'll replace, but the home button is gone for good I guess) anyways, keep up the good work!
Worked Great! Thanks, had a little issue trying to put the ribbons back on to click like a lego but once i found the right spot Click and it was all good. Thanks again!
WassGoodDev Go directly to apple. Even if you will change the home button.the home button will not work because it is paired to each iPhone serial number.
Thank you Jerry. I was eventually successful in my attempt. Two things happened that I was not prepared for. 1. Putting them itsy-bitsy screws back in place was a challenge.. That was probably the toughest part of the job for me. 2. I had a white spot ( smaller than an eraser head) show up in the lower right quadrant of the home screen whenever I opened an app. (Would disappear whenever I returned to the home screen.). After removing the faceplate again and opening an app it would not be there. After opening the phone about three times (prying it open and off the bottom but not disconnecting ribbons) and revisiting all the cable connections, and finally cleaning any fingerprints with a q-tip and windex. (No alcohol to be found) it finally went away. Hope that was helpful to anyone who may have had a similar issue. I like chunky monkey ice cream when I can get it.
Jerry, i've broken two screens and both times ive used this to repair! thanks!!! still relevant during isolation 2020!

Does the 3d touch feature still work?
Harris Gonzales I lost that function when I did mine. Would like to know how to get it back
patrick roland u lose it if you replace the home button MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE SAME ONE BECAUSE REPLACING IT WILL NOT GIVE U ANY TOUCH ID FUNCTION and if you rip it you’re out of luck because only apple can fix that if you want Touch ID
@@joshuaa1921 (he said 3d touch (the pressure thing) not touch id, but thanks for the advice😉)
I CAN'T UNSCREW THE ONE AT THE MIDDLE OF THE HOME BUTTON. I'M STUCKED. 😭😭😭
Wtf Apple I see ALOT of extra room for a 3.5mm jack in there.
+Integra DIY exactly.
JerryRigEverything Sad. Lol
I prefer Oreos as well
I just repaired my iPhone 7 Plus screen. It was so complicated, I broke the camera flex so now I have to buy a new one. I spend my whole afternoon doing it. Thanks your video was very helpful. :)
Tips: Use a piece of paper to lay out the pieces you remove. A well lit area is very helpful. Do not drop the tiny @$$ screws from hell.
You are hot...........
Lol I've dropped them a few times. Lucky I found them lil bit### 😂
I use cardboard with holes in it and put the screws in the holes (they are small enough where the head of the screws poke out)
why not repair the waterproofing adhesive? or incapable of getting the right stuff? just wondering. I have never seen you properly repairing any waterproof phones.
IamNOTyourFather you can pick em up pretty cheap, iphone seals that is
The waterproofing adhesive is still hard to come by.
Granted you have to do it properly and it still needs to be able to fit back in, but it's definitely doable with some effort.
homeboy has a tinder notification
Haha you think one of the tinder girls purse made his phone crack? LOL
Zack I love your videos and everything (especially the atmosphere and narration)...ever since the battery replacement vid of iphone 5!
But it would've really helped to either not let it appear as easy/quick as the video shows. (or add even more pointers at the end of the things that occasionally can go more difficult)
e.g. 1) the front camera assembly cable seems to be two separate cables glued to each other, more easily splitting from each other than from the chassis of the phone. this might be due to the age of the phone and the adhesive getting very dry (even heating for multiple minutes was not enough at first
2) peeling off the home button was even tougher + the middle Y screw on the home button itself is the only screw that broke multiple screwdrivers on me, while the rest of the Y screws on the phone and the same home button bracket came off with no issues.
I've done repairs for multiple iPhone 5, 5S and 6S based on your vids, but had I known this one would be that damaging I would've preferred to bite the bullet and hand it in to a repair shop on the one. (the front speaker/cam cable I'll replace, but the home button is gone for good I guess)
anyways, keep up the good work!
"A super aggressive screw might cause damage." ... indeed.
hahahaha

What if you forget to unplug the battery connection
I bricked an iphone 6 once because I forgot to unplug the battery and the phone was still on.
I forgot to unplug mine too. I just made sure I disconnected it and reconnected it last. Right before powering on the phone
I did it once and blew the front camera
All depends really. You could get lucky and have no issues. Or you could damage one, any or all your internals.
Worked Great! Thanks, had a little issue trying to put the ribbons back on to click like a lego but once i found the right spot Click and it was all good. Thanks again!
Who else just ripped the home screen ribbon?🤷🏼♀️🤯
lmao meeee. trying to find a replacement now
WassGoodDev Go directly to apple. Even if you will change the home button.the home button will not work because it is paired to each iPhone serial number.
@@RoachEditz-911 Oh okay, I just ripped mine too...will they be able to replace it or will I have to use the accessibility option
@@ID_Station they will replace your phone if you ripped it yourself.
@@RoachEditz-911 Oh damn! Okay! I will definitely go find out more about this!

Dawn Walavalkar you're* and you're welcome!
