And she has only gotten better since this recording was posted!! Eglise is the HOPE for the operatic world. Michael Fabiano is also hope for the tenor world. YEAH!!! No more "manufactured" sounds we HAVE to listen to! Nothing like "chiaroscuro" in a voice. THANK YOU!
I am speechless...Beautiful.MAGNIFIQUE.STUPENDA.TALENTED. A TRUE VIOLETTA.....and that the BEST is that she is ORIGINAL AND UNIQUE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT. I LOVE IT.
The more I hear of this young lady's singing, the more impressed I am. She definitely reminds me of the singers of the past. I love how her coloratura is sung legato, without any of the gargling and aspirating one hears so often now. I know she has a beautiful trill, but I don't hear her doing them here (only Callas and Sutherland seem to do them). She is such a welcome breath of fresh air, and I can't wait to hear more from her.
I think Eglise is simply perfect, and i enjoy every phrase and every note of hers. But, my dear friends, why do you insist in the old mania of attacking other great singers just to say how much you like Eglise. Of course she has a more pure tone than Callas, but Callas had other quite different and marvellous virtues. Each singer is different as each person is. No need to compare so negatively such great artists, just mention what you like of each, or just say you like better some versions.
Eglise was amazing, but what's with the tenor's vibrato? That's got to be one of the widest I've ever heard. Very good, though, and her high Eb's are not screechy!
This is the best soprano I've heard on the scene..she should have the acclaim Netrebko is getting. She deserves it 100 times more.
One of the best Violetas ever in this aria, and she an inspiration because she is a latin american singer

Fabulous voice, very musical and great taste. Brava!
I can not wait to see her this month at the Seattle Opera :)
Absolutely wonderful!
Anna Netrebko lowered the standard of today`s`sopera singing - a glorious voice like Gutierrez`will certainly improve it !
Brava Eglise!!!!!!! Espectacular!!
