Prior to getting a multi-tool, I used a jigsaw for that type of thing. It was as fast and easy as the multi-tool and I already had it. A note/caution though on using a jigsaw: get/use the narrowest blade you can find - wider blades will have trouble with tight curves.
After not using my jigsaw for years, I sold it a few months ago, along with other spiderweb-covered tools, as part of our downsizing. It would have been a good choice to highlight if I still had it!

@KayakhacksFishing Downsizing.... My wife keeps telling me I need to do that. Although in my case, I believe she is referring to my weight 🤣
