Brock Davidson Did you do any sprocket changing combined with the O ring removal? I’m trying to get my 08 r6 in the nines, it has 126whp, 520 conversion, 1 down 3 up, lowering strap in the front, k&n full exhaust with a flash and tune, GP shifted bike, I run engine ice, aftermarket clutch bearing and plates, new springs, bikes is stock wheelbase. Im also 130 pounds and the mirrors are removed. I’d love some advice or feedback
@wrightracing - @WRIGHTRACING if you watch the pass closely, it was trying to wash out the front end-this si why it took so long for him to get his foot on the peg. And he also missed a gear up top. He said he would go 70's all day with a little practice.
I love this Bike! I have a 2008 and Can't keep the front end down! Just Got me a Racing strap from brocks performance! Already I can tell the difference in launching it! im shooting for 10's for now but maybe one day ill get down on the 9's Thanks Brock LOVE all your Videos and advice!
It's after watching the barbecue clip long time ago with Brock when I started spinning my rear wheel to see how much resistance there is. Rear wheel takes surprising effort to turn if there's ton of chain lube and road grime tacked onto it. Now, very religiously, the day before taking my 636 to the circuit, I spend good bit of time painstakingly cleaning the chain, and use Teflon based lube, which feels like the having lowest resistance on the o-rings. Doesn't last, but hey, my toothbrush is always handy...
Wow... And here i thought i wouldn't see one in the 9s... I would say my zx6r is decently quick. Motor stock, but full intake, exhaust, changed gearing, tune, etc. Im a little 125lbs jockey. Ive had a few guys compliment me on how quick she is. My other friends with 600s cant keep up with mine. What im hearing is new wheel bearings, a strap, new clutch (which i need anyway) and get better at launching. Shit i might try to get into the 9s next year... Gonna have to ask for some more hours at work though lol
Love what you and Chris Moore have done to some 636 bikes....I have a ‘13 and love it Might have to hit you up for an exhaust some day in the future for my bike 🤙🏻
That's real nice set up for a zx6. My zx14 has zx10 wheels and has custom bearings and my back wheel rolls like that, it surprised me. And it has an oring chain . I do lube it with wd40 before every ride.
Went 10.63 @ 132.31 on a stock 2012 cbr600rr with just a TBR slip on no tune nothing else changed. Bought a 2011 ZX6r to build into a track bike also looking for 9.90's or better on engine.
Man that sick and yes my first track day after getting my 03 zx6r I was blowing lower fairings off my buddys 08 gsxr 750 that was stretched big sprocket quick shifter and full bricks exhaust my bike stock engine k&n high flow air filter lowered about 1 3/4 in front can’t remember the rear and Diablo Rosso 3 a lot of adjustments to my clutch Ran ethanol free gas and added 5 teeth to the rear tan 10.9s all night and that was me being scary with that new sprocket I had a few power wheelies in first and second gear until finding the sweet spot in my rev
What a great video. As always, you explain more than anyone else on RUclips. You are the man!!! Keep uploading videos just like always and I'll, alongside others, will continue to watch them! TY
Hey, Brock! It's always great to see old friends pop up on my various feeds! BTW, I can remember when you you raced a 600 in the AMA-ProStar series... LOL!
Cool video! I hardly ever drag race with my 2011 zx6.but with yoshi full exhaust a BBM filter and power commander.46 rear sprocket and one down in the front,I clocked a 10 flat.and that was on power one tires.the bike is making 118 hp at the wheel.oh and a stock clutch.but these bikes really shine on the track ,they corner so well! And have nice brakes stock.
I don't want to speak for the man, but he's being way too modest. That's why everybody loves him, but anyone who's into fast bikes and is just finding out about Brock's Performance, chances are, he's been racing for longer than you've been alive. Brock has been a force to be reckoned with in the drag bike game for a long, long time. So although it may be true when he said he just did it, he didn't "just" do it... a lot of time, effort, and money was invested. His achievements came by way of blood, sweat, and tears👍
Nice, I'm excited to see gain. BTW I tested a same day before and right after of a new K&n filter vs a new sprint and picked up almost 3mph in the 1/4 and almost 2 in the 1/8th. Crazy how good that filter flows bjust unfortunate they are not well know in the states. One of the best $ values for power besides a tune on a motorcycle IMO.
Bad ass!! Really wish there was more of a market to make y’all produce the products needed. Still very killer man. Thanks for the knowledge and experience 💪
Essentially it's still fairly stock, in 2006 I drag raced my k6 gsxr600 against and 06 r1 and ran a 10.2 it was stock chassis and everything all we'd done was put a leo vince exhaust, k&n air filter and played with the fuelling with a yoshi box. It made 115rwhp and the guy thought it was a 1000, the 600s are great because they don't want to wheelie as much as a litre.
So you add more gear to drag race it? I've always gone the opposite way with a couple teeth on the rear sprocket on my 1172 cc 1984 Kawasaki GPZ which almost throws me off of her at take off and 2nd and 3rd shifts due to the Barnet springs in its clutch and 150-160 hp old school power.
@W.Ormsby - Our biggest problem with a bike like this is wheelie reduction. Rider skill can control the initial launch, but for the quickest ET, the launch must be combined with the ability to open the throttle 100% before the 1-2 shift. If the bike violently wheelies in the top of first, or any gear after - the rider is at the mercy of the set-up. Taller gearing leads to quicker ET's compared to other means: reduced power (rider backing off gas, adjusting power output through the ECU, etc...). Hope this helps.-BD
Oh the crazy things you hear when you deal with Brock's Performance; who else describes a 9 second bike as "low powered"🤣 If you want a fast bike: Brock is BOSS... and you can take that to the bank👍👍 Ps: the strap kit is essential equipment if you're serious about launching hard and going fast... I'll vouch for it.
Im like 5’6 170 i took my 11’ zx6r to the strip for the first time and never actually tried to hard launch the bike before but i managed a 12.0 before the track got cold and i started to spin in 2nd gear at like 40mph i said f that im done 😂...My mph is 123 with a absolute god awful launch’s I think with some less gas in the tank a freshly lubed chain a good launch and no mis shifts i cant hit mid 11s not sure tho thats the goal.....When i hit 12.0 i had a bad launch like almost 3 sec 60ft and i missed 4th to 5th
Crucify me later I got the bike when i was 19 i turned 20 a couple months ago so im still new to riding im gonna get a new smoother chain it has the OEM chain but the bike only had like 3900 miles when i got it and its got like 4900 now about 9 months later . . . Pls give me any tips on how to launch better I leave at like 8k rpm i think i dont really look i just go off sound and fesl

Are there any down falls to the no orings in the chain, I've herd this done before, but I'm also hearing this is not advisable for a everyday street bike, with the dirt and debris collected. Could you elaborate or make a video regarding this if time permits. Also the clutch mod for this, what zx10 parts did you use? Thanks in advance, peace ✌ from Jacksonville 07ZX6R
@Rick Davis -Removing the O-rings converts your chain to a looser set-up of a non-Oring chain. This means that if you don't lube it after getting caught in the rain, it can be destroyed quickly--in addition to needing frequent cleanings. In Jacksonville, with your rain and sand - an O-ring chain would be far less work and hassle on the street. let me ask you a question. So i have a 07 ZX6R i had the shop clean the air filter out on my bike over the winter. and now its making a ticking vibration noise while in gear. it does it in every gear but its the loudest from 1st to 4th gear on 2k-6k rpm. You know when you give it gas then shift and then let it come back to the rpm thats cruise comfortable and the bike is just in the perfect state sound wise and speed wise? thats when the noise is loudest. its coming from down by the fan to the wheel dampener to the inside the gas tank. sounds kind of like loose keys hitting the tripple tree but its not the keys. ik its not the cam chain either. bc cam chains do it on idle and while riding. so what could be my problem? thank you for your time in advance .
hello Brock Great Video ! quick question I have a 2008 Gsxr 1000 full boltons , clutch mod , Brocks alien exhaust and list goes on my question is im 250lbs and I have the gearing at 15/45 it pulls really good just wondering if you think that gearing is right or can be better
I had a 09 Monster Edition ZX6R and that thing was indeed a monster. I had my share of Busa kills on that thing for sure. Maybe I will get another one...
Am I able to just use my lowering strap on the front at the drag strip by itself? (‘19 zx6r) My lowering links are in the mail so won’t be able to install them before I head to the strip this Saturday
Man Brock your videos are Awesome. I am in a head spend on your Full Exhaust Penta Carbon Exhaust and the Full Austin Racing Exhaust for 2019-2020 zx10r i suppose to look at tomorrow.
A love this man’s videos, I already watched this video about 6 times, this man should have hundreds of thousands of more subscribers and views. Best motorcycle channel in my opinion. Im getting a new 2020 zx6r, maybe a zx10r if i get a good deal on it, what do you think about the 2020 zx6r and zx10r?
I appreciate that! Bike choice depends upon many factors. A ZX-10R is MUCH faster than a ZX-6R, so the rider must be able to maintain control with things happening very quickly. They are both good bikes, so toy can't go wrong with either...as long as they match your skill level.
No measurable improvement in normally aspirated applications. Fuel system will degrade on older bikes. Most modern sportbike fuel systems don't have enough volume required. + many other issues. This is why we use MR12 for true performance gains.

@@BrockDavidson Thank you very much! I have the same bike and last year I ran a pb of 9.81 with the stock headers. This year I purchased a full Ti system. We don't have a dyno around so the map is done in the street...
I have never understood the loose axle theory? But I also make sure that all of our spacing is correct. We torque the axle to the factory spec, or higher, to make sure the axle doesn't move during the launch.

@@BrockDavidson Thank you sir. When I get my ZH2 at the end of next year (made a deal with my wife and I get to get a ZH2 next year) I'll bring it to you guys for some work.
Amazing! I've only been to the strip once, but the best I could do is a 10.43 on a 2012 ZX14R. I would really like to get under 10 seconds. The track has been resurfaced, it in pretty bad shape when I went.
I have had this set-up on my personal Busa since 2008. No accelerated wear as long as the chain stays lubricated - especially after getting caught in the rain.
@@ajsmotolife5641 Yeah I get that...as stated by the other 2 people that replied also. I guess my question should be stated, after spending 2500.00+ on just the exhaust and bearings, why you even invest the 30mins of labor of removing the O-rings when you could have just spent 15-20 on a new NON O-ring chain?
I tried a standard non o-ring chain on my SV once. Lasted 600 miles before it went to kinky bad land. I wonder when the mfg's will make a purpose built non o-ring chain for drag racing. I think someone does already. RK makes lightweight ones. $250 bucks!

Brock how come you guys didn’t put carbon wheels or forged aluminum wheels for less rotational mass?
Class rules did not allow. Had to be OEM wheels... Or we certainly would have installed BST's 😎
let me ask you a question. So i have a 07 ZX6R
i had the shop clean the air filter out on my bike over the winter. and now its making a ticking vibration noise while in gear. it does it in every gear but its the loudest from 1st to 4th gear on 2k-6k rpm.
Check to make sure your fan isn't hitting the radiator.
hello Brock Great Video ! quick question I have a 2008 Gsxr 1000 full boltons , clutch mod , Brocks alien exhaust and list goes on my question is im 250lbs and I have the gearing at 15/45 it pulls really good just wondering if you think that gearing is right or can be better
Hello, cool video, and channel, I will follow, and like, my question is does a riders weight make a difference in the quarter...time
Yes. The heavier the bike/rider combination, the more power will be needed to keep pace with a lighter combination.
I'm interested to see if extending the front fairing to cover the handlebar ends would make a difference in the quarter.
NO FREKN WAY BROCK!!!!!! DANG IT I am gonna have to save it for later.
Another awesome peek into the life of performance motorbikes. Thank you Brock 🙏
Can you put a switch to choose between pump fuel and racing fuel on a z1000 2011 model and on a z 750 2008?
It's a map selector switch bit.ly/3pdOl47 - it allows dual maps to be run on any bike using a Dynojet PCV.
Brock Davidson ,if the bike has been already programmed in directly in the stock ecu you need to start from the beginning with the program and etc?
Yes. unless whoever programmed your ECU has the technical capability to place another map in a different driving mode.
U are the best!!! 🙏
I had a 09 Monster Edition ZX6R and that thing was indeed a monster. I had my share of Busa kills on that thing for sure. Maybe I will get another one...
Am I able to just use my lowering strap on the front at the drag strip by itself? (‘19 zx6r) My lowering links are in the mail so won’t be able to install them before I head to the strip this Saturday
certainly, many people use the strap alone - it helps with or without the lowering links.
Thanks Brock for clearing that up. Can’t wait to see what my little 636 can do now. I’m only weighing 135lbs lol
Hey men, love your work, i got a 2000 zx12r and I will like some advice for it,if you can please let me know, thanks and keep it up.
Man Brock your videos are Awesome. I am in a head spend on your Full Exhaust Penta Carbon Exhaust and the Full Austin Racing Exhaust for 2019-2020 zx10r i suppose to look at tomorrow.
Remember, regardless of which @brocksperf exhaust you purchase... You receive our support, advice, mapping, set-ups etc...
I wish u guys would do mlre 600s the new 636 is amazing!!
Check out our friends over at Moore Mafia: ruclips.net/user/BoostAlmighty3001
Acabo de comprar esa moto zx6r 2009, ahora me gusta más
Good suspension set up, and a good rider can do alot
You got that right!
Any advantage in tuning a bike to run on E85 as opposed to race gas? Will the fuel system hold up to ethanol?
No measurable improvement in normally aspirated applications. Fuel system will degrade on older bikes. Most modern sportbike fuel systems don't have enough volume required. + many other issues. This is why we use MR12 for true performance gains.
@@BrockDavidson Thank you
Hey Brock when will you be doing some work on the ZH2 and posting it on RUclips ?
When we have something interesting to post. FYI: Covid put an 8+ week delay in product development and production....It shouldn't be much longer.
Nice vd brock, like your new intro🔥😉✌thx for the fast delivery to germany 👌the block off plates for my 1000 gixxer k7 are amazing, great finish and perfomance 👍proud to have your decals on my bike !! Peace and lots off health you fast guys overthere in the u.s.a 😉✌p.s failed to order a banner from your shop
I had a 1998 ZX6R. Stock with my fat arse on it, I pulled 11.98. No quick shifter. 100kg of my Royal Lardness. Carburettors. Geez it was fun.
Hi Brock! Is this one of the bikes that does better on 89 octane rather than 93? Also did you change something in the ignition timing? Thx!
Yes, and no.
@@BrockDavidson Thx! I really appreciate your answer.
I have a question a 2007 gsxr 750 with a turbo kit? Is it or would be a 1000 beater?
If you have a wild desire to spend BUNCH of money, time, frustration... Sure.
Sato exhaust I bet. I like see what exactly time difference between ceramic vs regular quality bearings. Talking $400. Canadian for wheel bearings.
this bike is insane i love it
Hello! I have found on the internet that these bikes need an AFR below 13 for the best power. Is it true?
The Internet is partially true, but if you want to understand more clearly, this is a good place to start: ruclips.net/video/RmWkwTZ-n7o/видео.html
@@BrockDavidson Thank you very much! I have the same bike and last year I ran a pb of 9.81 with the stock headers. This year I purchased a full Ti system. We don't have a dyno around so the map is done in the street...

@@BrockDavidson After 2 years, we finally managed to run a 9.78 @227kmh, with similar configuration, on pump gas.
Nice job!!!
Japan you say? Could it be BEET? They have a nice selection that costs alot.
Beet Japan makes excellent products, but it's not them.
I remember when Ricky went 9.93 in a Cycle World test back in 2005 on a "stock" Yamaha R6
Awesome video learned 3 to 4 new things had a 2012 ZX6R ❤️
awesome to see something less common! did you guys torque the axle bolts/nuts to normal or did yall back off a little?
I have never understood the loose axle theory? But I also make sure that all of our spacing is correct. We torque the axle to the factory spec, or higher, to make sure the axle doesn't move during the launch.
how is it so stock but power commander and everything else on the street my cbr600rr also 09 i can beat all stock not bike with thousands in upgraded parts is called stock bottom end with bolt ons , fast yes stock no
Brock, you mentioned Alisyn and Petron... noticed that the application on
For your application, we would suggest 0w20 with the Petron.
@@BrockDavidson thanks, waited on your reply before pulling the trigger. Will get the 0w20 instead of the
Question: I have a 2018 Z650, do you guys offer a tune or anything for it that will help me in the area of more power, choppy throttle, more response...? Its bone stock but I do want to do an Akropovic exhaust, filter and PowerCommander but haven't yet.
We dont. Maybe try guhl motors for a flash.
@@BrockDavidson Thank you sir. When I get my ZH2 at the end of next year (made a deal with my wife and I get to get a ZH2 next year) I'll bring it to you guys for some work.
Nice! Hey man, aside from the zx6r, great job losing some weight brother, looking great! 🤙
Do you sell the ceramic bearing at your shop?
Yes - brocksperformance.com/wheels-tires/bearings/oem-wheel-bearing-kits/
Amazing! I've only been to the strip once, but the best I could do is a 10.43 on a 2012 ZX14R. I would really like to get under 10 seconds. The track has been resurfaced, it in pretty bad shape when I went.
It’s all about clutch and throttle control. Prep helps but it’s not the due all end all on 200 hp lol
Brock, is that front tire on backwards? 🤔
Could have been. We purchased the bike from a road racer ;)
Damn I would love to buy that bike. Hey Brock have you installed aftermarket cams in a 636 before? If so what gains did you see?
5 hp+
Is it best to shift at the HP peak or above? How much did the bike sell for?

@Brock Davidson what's going on with new videos?

What's the benifts from taking out the O-rings vs buying a non O-ring chain?
Reduces friction, now you have some space in between the links rather than them rubbing constantly.
Least amount of friction at the cost of wear. Plates and pins are very loose so it's not going to last as long as a stock chain
$250 bucks!
