This is the historic film. Thank you for putting it on. Hope this film will get all the restorations to make it very clear and colorful so we can see the beautiful ladies all over the world including the most beautiful Miss Universe in 1964.
Thailand< Sweden and India were stunning. Peru went on to become Miss World the next year. So interesting to see how stiff their walk was in those days, like walking mannequins, so robotic.

Thank you so much for posting this, I have not seen a better print of my very first Miss Universe Pageant, where I picked the eventual winner, the lovely Margareta Arvidsson from Sweden, right away, when she was introduced during the Parade of Nations. I was 11 years old and had seen the Miss America Pageant many times, which was a big deal back then, but that was my first Miss Universe and far and away my favorite thanks to the stunning blonde from Sweden who won the crown. Thanks also for the gorgeous photos at the end of the video. Cheers!

Miss Sweden didn't want to win, when she's announced as the winner, she is mouthing the words "I can't, I can't." She did go on to have a successful reign.
Some time in the near feature there will be upgrade software available that will bring this video back to full clarity and we will be able to see these beautiful woman again !

The last Miss Universe hosting gig for John Charles Daly who hosted the first televised Miss Universe in 1955.
Bob Barker succeeded Daly and hosted MU from 1967 to 1987.
Yeah that’s not accurate at all, Miss Universe had several host between 1955 and 1966, including Johnny Carson in 1961. The host here is Jack Linkletter.

Bob Barker’s hosting sometimes left much to be desired as he is rude in interviewing some of the contestants as well as shoving aside MsU 69 Gloria Diaz when she was crowning Marisol Malaret.
