Commentators, journalists and experts of Israeli politics have often declared Netanyahu to be an opportunistic leader with a great desire to rule - but with no clear ideological agenda or creed. The lecture argues that Netanyahu's governments have fundamentally transformed Israeli politics and society: from the national narrative to the balance between 'Jewish' and 'Democratic', from the status of the Supreme Court to how civic education is taught in Israel, from the definitions of Right and Left to the idea of governability and notions of loyalty. The ideological transformations and structural changes are discussed through the lenses of some of the spearhead ideologues and top ministers and of course Netanyahu himself. The exposition of the attempts to overtake the public media, resulting in the indictment and Netanyahu's trial, tells the story of Israeli politics under its longest-serving prime minister.

Schade, daß alles in Englisch ist, ich habe nach den ersten 30 % aufgegeben. Dennoch ist es sehr spannend zu erfahren wie N. mit einem Staatsstreich das Oberste Gericht entmachtet hat, die Würde und Freiheit der Menschen zu verteidigen.
