What fun that would be to have other spyder riders to cruise with. Looks like the new spyder is doing well. It is a shame Kelly couldn't come along but the Grands come first. Even with the mic issue it was still a really nice ride. Thanks for sharing it.
sam smith - It was a ton of fun Sam. I wish Kelly could have come along as well. She could have used that little summer-like break from the winter blues. It sure did me a world of good! Thanks Sam!
Ctcc73 - Lol, I hear the theme song for the series "Streets of San Francisco" play in my head every time I ride around up there... These 1330 triples have some pretty good pull, It's hard to stay out of it and just cruise. Thank you!
Hay! That was one lovely trip you had there, thanks for takeing us along, i love it, shame about that Mic! Wish you could of took Kelly along with.you! That was real nice Areas you went to. The track where you live is not as bad as my Carpark where i live, theres water mud everywhere, as im out in the Wilds! All the Cars over the years.have made it real bad, as 8 houses use it.i love all the Spyders Man, nice to see different ones. Thanks Shawn.
Paul Gregroy - Thanks Paul! I'm glad you enjoyed hanging out with me for a half hour. Lol I really wished Kelly could have made it as well, she could have used that warm sunshine, I know I needed the break from the winter norm. Yeah it's really tough to keep bikes clean with a dirt road coming and going from your home. Mud in the winter and a dust bowl in the summer...
XXXDeadhead - It's surprising how many movies were made there. Even a TV series that I was crazy about as a wee tyke, "Movin' On" had it's first two episodes filmed there... Here is an IMDB list: www.imdb.com/search/title?locations=Astoria%2C+Oregon%2C+USA&ref_=ttloc_loc_2
yea I've had enough riding in my own fog & yes the anti fog stuff seems to make it worse. I'm glad you found the sun. Too bad Kelly wasn't able to go with you
Robert Robb - I know I've had my fill of the fog for the year! I don't know how they can sell something that fundamentally doesn't work? I wish she could have made it also. She could have used the little break from the winter blues... Thanks Robert!
Great videos. I've ridden along with you for quite a few miles before buying my own 2015 Can Am RTS SE6. I've ridden it 430 miles and i'm still oversteering it. Easy to do having wrestled a Harley Trike for the last 4 years. The power steering seems to be very sensitive. Do you have any suggestions to stop oversteering other than a more relaxed grip? Thanks
What was that park? Was that in Astoria? I lived in Anacortes many years ago. I'm more likely to get to the coast of Maine. Interesting to see that country.
cucumberman1234567 - Heck yeah! It turned out to be an awesome ride on a beautiful day. Now if I hadn't goofed the mic up... Lol Thanks for watching and commenting!
An excellent vid! Thank - you! Can you tell me what improvements Bombardier made on the 2015 RT Vs. the 2014 RT? Better mileage, More comfortable ride, etc.? I'm in the market for a new one - RT Limited - I AM into my creature comforts after all!!!! Again, thanks for posting! John
burkeshaw - Not a whole lot of changes... Mainly fine tuning and smoother overall operation. Such as smoother clutching at takeoff, smoother decel compression braking, smoother cruise cancelling (no longer throws you into the dash when you cancel at speed... Lol), horsepower went from 113 to 115 with a small torque boost, etc. I'm not seeing a mileage difference between my 2014 and 2015. Overall, there seems to be a more refined feeling to the 2015's, but nothing that would make a deal breaker from a 2014 at a discounted price. If the price is close, go with the 2015! And of course a Limited model for maximum creature comforts! Lol Thanks for watching and writing John!
Very cool for the ride together! Also, those pictures are stunning, great job :-) Also, I feel your pain on the audio snafu. I had purchased a 90* audio cable just to clean up the look of my rig on the helmet. It worked with the Hero 3, but not the Hero3+ which is what I use to vlog into. I went back to the GoPro audio cable and haven't had any more problems, but I had stacked up at least 5 motovlogs on that card before I realized the problem...
Arizona RE - Thanks man, it was a lot of fun to see sunshine and feel some warm weather. Which is odd for the coast around here. I tested the adapter in question the other day once I realized that the mic wasn't the issue, and sure enough, the 3+ doesn't even recognize that the adapter was even plugged it. It records from the GoPro only. I just now tested the second one that's never been opened, and it has the same issue! As cheap as they were, I should have been suspicious... I've had perfect luck with the 90° adapters up to this point. You're lucky many others and myself have had horrible luck with the GoPro OEM adapters... I can't count how many lost vlogs I've had as a result. Man, 5 vlogs at once, that really sucks!
I've got suspicions about the standard GoPro wire, but I support it now with a Velcro strap so that where it plugs in stays straight and doesn't lean or twist against the micro usb port too much. I think that may help the original GoPro adapters. Yeah, I had a day off work and went tooling around in the boondocks, broke up my vlogging into 5 segments. Didn't look at it until I'd gotten home and whuddya know...
Arizona RE - That's what people have been saying, they think the wind resistance may have been causing the failures. I never looked into it myself, I just finally got tired of replacing them and moved on. The bad reviews on the two adapters that didn't work mentioned there is a resister that is missing that triggers the GoPro to go into external mic mode. Amazing that they can advertise and sell something that's never going to work! Oh man, I feel your pain! That's happened to me too many times with adapters... Either signs in and out through the vlog or no audio at all! I sure wish GoPro could find a way to squeeze a 3.5mm mic back on there...
Richard Enstad - Thanks Richard, it was a much needed break from the normal winter gloom up here. Really bums me that I goofed the mic up like that... But like you say, oh well, I can change it now. Just have to be mindful of that happening again.
It must be quite an attention grabber riding down the road with a bunch of Spiders! I thought the UK was the only place that got fog like that. But wow, how nice was the weather at the coast! Were those hills as steep as they looked? I thought you'd gone all the way to San Francisco. ;o) Looked like a really nice place though. Looked like a great day out there mate. Great vid as always, even without your banter. ;o)
Rob Ash - As you know, I'm very shy about things like that. But yeah, way too much attention! Lol My Irish mother always tells me this place is like home to her... The coast was a shocker for sure. It's tough to find nice warm weather at the coast around here... Shockingly, the GoPro didn't do those hills justice! All I could think about was that lady walking her baby in the stroller down the steepest section. Could you imagine tripping and letting that stroller go? Hope it has auto brakes if you let go! It was great fun, thanks for coming along with us Rob!
Shawn Smoak I love riding along with you mate, with my feet up and a coffee in my hand. ;o) Letting a stroller go down a very steep hill? Hummmmm, imagine being the baby in that stroller as your mother temporarily lost grip and then had to dive to grab it, sending her skidding down the pavement on her knees to make it stop! I was that baby! Lucky doesn't even come close, there was a very busy main street at the bottom of the hill.
Rob Ash - Well thanks Rob! You're always so kind... Love it! That must have been one scary ride! Makes a chill go up my spine thinking of your poor mom dragging on her knees... Poor thing! Amazing what a mother will do to save their child.
Great vlog Shawn, could you tell me how many minutes it took you to upload and publish this vid.? I am looking into a faster internet connection, as it takes a long time to upload my vlogs. Thank You. Safe Travels.
Triketacular - This was a 5.9 GB video after rendering it, and it took 16.5 hours to upload with my crazy slow DSL connection. This would have taken less than 10 minutes at work! They are installing fiber optics in my area, and it's already up to my house, but not operational just yet. It will be smoking fast once it goes live. My current speeds are 3 Mbps download / 700 kB/s upload and work is 70 Mbps/ 65 Mbps. The budget fiber optics package that's coming soon is 25 Mbps/5 Mbps. I've ordered the 50 Mbps/15 Mbps package... Can't wait! Thanks for watching and commenting!
beeqool - Well, when it's actually plugged in, I use the Drift HD S external mic with the GoPro's. I know that may seem strange, but their mics work really well... Thanks for watching!
Highlandragon - Man I hear ya! I wanted an F3 as a demo so bad this year, but they don't think that we're going to get enough to meet the demand... Maybe next year. We did get one today, but it's being delivered to our rep through our store from BRP. I'm not sure if I can even ride it after assembling it tomorrow? I sure hope so! I hope your's shows up soon. I have very little patience, so I feel your pain.
IS THIS ALL YOU'VE GOT? I'M TIRED OF SEEING THE SPIDER ON ALL YOUR VIDEOS! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR NEW BIKE? THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO SEE, NOT THEM SPIDERS. I'M SICK OF SPIDER THIS AND SPIDER THAT. PUT SOME GOOD BIKES ON YOUR VLOGS.
***** - You've got some serious catching up to do Ronald... I've actually been getting some heat over not doing enough Spyder vids here lately. Just purchased a new bike week before last... I'm trying to mix it up the best I can. Thanks for watching and commenting Ronald, I appreciate it sir!

Thanks for watching and commenting Cheng!

Beautiful photos towards the end. Such a stunning view!
mattheginger - Thanks man!
you think you messed up but that is some of the best audio i have heard the SPYDER SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Almost thought you were in San Francisco with all them steep hills. It was cool to hear the spyder and the power it has. Great video.
Ctcc73 - Lol, I hear the theme song for the series "Streets of San Francisco" play in my head every time I ride around up there... These 1330 triples have some pretty good pull, It's hard to stay out of it and just cruise.

Road Trip to Astoria with Spyder Ryders! - 2015 RT-S Special | RoadTrips
Fun fact.... The Goonies was filmed there - same with Kindergarten Cop
XXXDeadhead - It's surprising how many movies were made there. Even a TV series that I was crazy about as a wee tyke, "Movin' On" had it's first two episodes filmed there... Here is an IMDB list: www.imdb.com/search/title?locations=Astoria%2C+Oregon%2C+USA&ref_=ttloc_loc_2

Kelly Grothe - It is a small world for sure! Lol
Thanks for watching Kelly!

How many miles can you get on a full tank? do you trust the spyder if you were taking a 1000 mile trip in a day?
Man, I want a Spyder so bad!

Hay Shawn how much noise to the spiders make when your riding one? It sounds real loud from the audio in the video.
Shawn, is the 2015 spyder windshield smaller than other years?
Shawn, I really enjoy watching your videos. What GoPro are you using and where is it mounted?
Just found this vid too, where do you get those fender lights that are on the silver frike?
Great video. It looked like you and the others had a lot of fun. Shame about the audio. Oh well. Tcrs
