how? I can barley understand what she is saying because she is so monotone. there might be alot of information there, but because the pace of her talking isn't great. I would have to have a transcript to even begin to understand what she's talking about.
so what tools do you use? Come on, everyone interested in the job knows what quantitative and qualitative research is.. But how do you communicate your findings? Do you visualize your data? Do you use programming languages like R to get your data insights?
Hey! Some of the answers to your questions are mentioned in this tutorial: careerfoundry.com/en/tutorials/ux-research-for-beginners/how-to-analyze-your-ux-research-findings/ When it comes to visualising data, we cover this topic in our Intro to Data Analytics course, in case you’re interested: careerfoundry.com/en/courses/intro-to-data-analytics/
Still did not understand from your video, what to do before design? Where to start? Any online platform for these research. They are just words & definition. Qualitative & Quantitative and definition. How do you work in real life and with real tools?
Hi Lokesh, we have a range of videos on these topics that you mention. We'd recommend checking out this video: ruclips.net/video/ORZlHuD22UQ/видео.html and we also have a range of recorded live events on demand on our RUclips channel, so for user research (qualitative and quantitative) check out: ruclips.net/video/Q_m1-3mCyiI/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/bAARmsv1tms/видео.html Hope these help?
but how do we collect the data from users? we visualize them? or approach users directly? if it's the later then how do we do that? For startups it's a common issue
Hi there! User research is all about collecting data from people who actually do (or would use) your product! As far as where to find users, you can recruit through your actual user base (chances are that they also know some people who would use your product) or through another company. Here's an article about user research tools (many of these platforms also have the option to do the recruiting for you): careerfoundry.com/en/blog/ux-design/remote-user-research-tools/ Granted, that can be pricey and if you don't have the budget, you can do some DIY recruiting. Here's a great article about that: medium.com/mixed-methods/diy-recruiting-how-to-find-participants-for-your-research-6f9a05dd1a33
Is this true that you ALWAYS use a mix of quant and qual in UX research like she said in this video? I have a market research background trying to learn more about UX research, and that is definitely not always the case for market research. Typically won’t just do qual. Usually a mix of quant first then qual or just entirely quant studies.

Thanks for the informative video, but the voice sound level is rather low. The next video immediately hurt my ears as I had to max out my device volume in order to watch this video
qualitative data is very fixed, once you know root of why they do what they do, it's that fixed reason. Saying it is open ended is misleading, probably an impression coming from open-ended questions. The answers are not open, though. And probably infused with a bias that subjectiveness is less than real.
Often times light background music helps to concentrate and increase engagement. But thanks for the feedback, we'll take it into consideration for our future content!
Not a terrible start but really too simplistic. If you're new to UX Research, please do not take this as gospel. It's very rudimentary and actually a little misleading. You are much better off learning about "social research methods" or "research methods" instead. UX Research is just a sub-type of research on humans and this video makes it seem that the research you do is just about "users." It's not. It's about humans and how they use (or not use) technology. Qual and Quant and mixed methods research should be studied as "research methods" and not just user research. This video is a start but please do not consider yourself ready after watching this. Read a lot of other sources first.
Have you done ux research on your videos with ux students and professionals? It might be worth considering as these videos are very scripted and as a result quite lifeless....
One of the best breaks-downs of what UX research is and how it contributes to many levels of problem solving.

Thank you so much! The video is very informative! (the background music is a bit interrupting)
Thanks, glad it was useful! We'll keep that in mind for our future videos!

The pace is too rapid, difficult to follow
Hey Emma, thanks for the feedback we'll take that onboard, sorry about that!
Thank you for video!

Useful for any designer
Glad you think so!
Thanks for sharing

Nils what?
Nielsen Norman Group’s Landscape of User Research Methods :)
It is good one
Nice Explanation....but background music is very annoying....
Hey, noted, we've reduced this in more recent videos, hopefully it wasn't too distracting.
@@careerfoundry Thank you :D
Very badly explained, voice quality is so poor.
🎉👉❤️
helpful info, but the music is super distracting. I mean, think about it...if she were teach a class would she have background music? Not likely.

the speaker seems Romanian, am I right?
Great and helpful video.
…but oh lord do I hate the way she says “quantitative” haha
so very well put together but the lady just talks too fast) 🙃

The "qualitative" and 'quantitative" pronounciation kept throwing me off. Here's some user feedback for ya!
You can turn on the captions. It helped me!
Informative but not excellent, her hair is scattered, quiet distracting
your stupidity is showing
Thank you! But please speak slower!
