No disrespect to any other creators but this series set the bar for what an ffxi job guide can be 3 videos ago. Incredible work!

The information is there, but I would comment that there's room to improve from "guy reading the text on his slides" presentation. It'll come with time and practice.
I just want to say, I appreciate all your work on these videos! I'm past where this would be useful to my personal progression, but I can see how useful it would have been if this was the path I had taken. When I'm ready, my NIN will slide past all this with gear acquired for/from other jobs, but I still feel like I'm learning a lot about how NIN functions. Thank you for doing this series!
seriously it can't be overstated....jeevus chrisp this is WHAT i needed in my life. I'm about to unlock and level ninja for the upcoming xp campaign and I'm grinning like a mad man. I was working on Thief and already got the mummu +2 gear as it was April's total hallmark reward. I started working towards a kaju sword but I think I'm going to pump the breaks and get cooking on all this, if nothing else because it gives me a VERY well laid out path with macros, gear set options, etc and VERY achievable.
Thanks so much for making these videos! As a returning player who quit at the beginning of WotG, the content and gear available at 99 has been completely overwhelming. There are guides out there for most jobs, but almost none I've found have been as step-by-step and easy to follow as this series; often they assume knowledge of events/options, assume group availability, etc. Back when I played last, people obviously used gear sets, but no where near as granularly as today with GS (at least that I recall), so reaching 99 and seeing a dozen recommended sets for any given job-all from content I'm unfamiliar with-has been so stressful to even think about. But even though I don't have Ninja itself at 99 yet, your guides are still helpful and educational (and honestly, I'm thinking of capping my Ninja just to have a strict progression to follow! I did love NIN at 75).
This playlist is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for all of the time you've obviously put into it. I have a quick question if you don't mind. In general, the same concept of getting the cheap domain gear and then start working on ambuscade stuff would apply for all fresh 99's? I'm just starting out and have a Paladin. I've gotten a Nixxer and Priwen, augmented them to max, and am wearing the 119 gear you can get for Bayld in Adoulin. I wasn't sure what to really concentrate on next other than continuing to accrue domain points for the pieces that cost 400 each. Thanks!
Thanks! Yes I think it's a solid strategy in my opinion for any returning 99 player. in my opinion it's the easiest of the new events to do solo and gives good rewards to get you geared for taking on the more challenging stuff.
Good Guide even today, tho i notice first part that you can get domain weapons as starter 119, yes but you can also from Records of eminence as new player i did skimrish and got Kannakiri +2 just by enter kill 10 monster :)
at this stage, would a chiner's belt +1 also suffice over a windbuffet nq, a while back the WOE camp was going on and I ended up with that and a flume +1 and have hung onto them
Thanks! I had actually forgotten how good this looked until you jut had me look at it again, indeed it's a great combo. That lockstyle piece is the Kujaku.
I was reading the wiki on the back pieces and it says "Changing the augment path will not return any items used up to that point unless a needle is used" which is confusing... Does this mean, without a needle, I need 2000 hallmarks to trade all 10 saps at once? Or can I trade 1-2 saps per day until I get the 10% dbl atk?
That's just if you want to change paths. So yes you just trade 1 initial item to set the path and then can trade as many or as few as you want from that point forward until that path is capped. What the changing refers to is if you wanted to say change from the Double Attack path to the Store TP path you would need to either lose ALL of your double attack path progress and start over OR use a Needle to change it from double attack to store tp without losing the current progress.
@@NextGamesGuide thanks again! One more thing... At this stage with basic gear, is shadow gorget/shadow belt still bis for ws swap on blade: shun? Or would windbuffet + Sanctity be better?
What would say is the best katana combo? I know its situational but if you could start with any 2 which would they be. I only have kikoku and aeonic katana right now
Based on my test Heishi/Tauret is really the best for overall DPS if you are MB'ing. If your not MB'ing Heishi/Achiuchikapu is next best. It's really the 180 delay in the offhand that appears to move the needle the most when it comes to DPS. There are some amazing options for Katana in offhand if you open it up to 227 Delay items with some neat stats but the one thing that seems to translate best to overall DPS improvements is the lower Delay of the offhand weapon. This will be gone over in detail and DPS numbers shown toward the end of my series when going over the weapons.
Can you get plus 3 shadows to each utsusemi spell with andartia mantle the mogaroku bead necklace and passion jacket? Or is there a cap on shadow bonuses?
Only one of those items add's shadows. The other two just lower spellcasting time. There are currently two items that add shadows, the boots and the back.
Great guide.. One thing I’d note, you didn’t mention the effect of the following on WS dmg: - Attribute modifiers (STR, DEX ...etc) - Multi hit gear And isn’t dagger/piercing is more effective against bats?
I like Tauret of Achi if you are focusing on DPS. It's the delay that is most important. Shigi is another solid option if you don't have either of those. Now for Fudo... The path I did LAST has actually proven to be the best one hands down in my opinion and that is Path C... in regards to tanking there is no better katana for Ninja.
@@NextGamesGuide i think im going with tauret. It provides a lot for nin now that i see it. I went path A :/ hopefully that wasnt a mistake. Im going for dmg more than tanking.
@@JimboMil3163 That was the first path I went with as well and it is the best path for DD but the worst path overall in my opinion as Kannagi, Kikoku and Heishi outdamage it by a quite bit. However, if you don't have any of those 3 it's a very nice DD option without having to work for a REMA. Better then Ambu Katana but worse then Relic, Empyrean and Aeonic Damage wise.
Yes all DPS tests are done on the same Apex Bats with the same buffs. This will be what I use all the way until the end of the series so that we are always comparing apples to apples.

Yea if your comparing it to the NQ it's not too far off and will work just fine until you get Salifi Belt.
What is the lock style on the offhand, if you don’t mind? The combo with heishi looks beautiful

Hi, to get to Gotokai, can u do a video on possible solo for legion to get pulse weapon?
