I highly doubt it'll reach even half those numbers, but I think it'd do itself a huge disservice if it changes the rates, which is something that has been hyped up. Reminds me of Ni no Kuni cross worlds that outperformed Genshin in Asia in its first weeks, but because of greed and crypto schemes has absolutely bombed worldwide. Idk anyone who plays it lol.
Doesn't matter how many pull you get at the beginning, what really matters is how many pulls we get a couple of months into the game when we exhausted the initial resources.
@@anilax What really makes a big difference is dmg type, also in abyss(phantasm thingy) specific weapons get buff. My SR bai ling is 6 stars max. it has the highest combat score and does the most. however i mostly feel every weap has their time and place. But obviously SSR's are better.
This pity system seems unbelievable fair and fun and I'm so glad that I can finally play a game where I feel like I'm getting a chance to even get the Character or equipment I want, I can't wait for it to come out globally!

(Well, if you wanna be a prick, the accurate maths are 100%/80 + 0.75% *79/80 = 1.990625%, but... Close enough. ^^;)

(For example, Arknights has a soft pity after 50 pulls, and Genshin has a hidden soft pity after 73 pulls.) As far as I know, ToF has no soft-pity system. As for the 50/50... Yeah, it sucks. And unlike Genshin, you can even get multiple off-banners in a row. But at least you can trade 120 red tokens for the featured weapon... If you do 120 summons on the SAME banner. (Red tokens are converted into golden tokens once a banner is over.) So, if you really want a specific character, I recommend trying to save 120 orbs before you summon. Fortunately, on ranked PvP, the weapon stats are normalized, so you don't need to worry about weapon dupes outside of PvE. (Well, and friendly PvP matches, if you care about that.)
As a massive fan of Genshin I'm pretty jealous of that gacha system. Also I have zero informed on this game besides some pictures I've seen but it does look pretty cool.
I mean the only real difference is that pity doesn't reset, the possibility of getting multiple 5* in a 10 pull also exists in genshin. I dont really think it's that big of difference if anything anything rate up banners are actually worse since you actually aren't garuanteed a ssr even at 80 pulls (it's still 50/50 between banner and standard) and we don't know if you can save up 120 for a banner yet in genshin if you loose 50/50 the next is garuanteed banner character that doesn't exist here even if you get a off banner character the next character could still be off banner also the rates are worse than genshin rates let's not ignorant that. I do this that the standard banner at least is pretty good but the rate up banners from what I've seen are objectively worse than genshin's especially with not knowing how much f2p currency you can actually save up to hit the hard pity.
@@fable2830 personally I think it's a pretty big deal especially the pity not resetting is huge imo, also the ability to just buy a copy of a character for 120 is nice as well. And considering Genshin has the pure scam weapon banner, that alone makes Genshin worse by comparison imo. Also from what I was told unlike Genshin you can get event characters in the standard banner after they rotate out of the event banner just without the rate up. I'm not saying Genshin is the worst Gacha system I've seen but Tower definitely feels more forgiving.

I love this pity system. I played it in the global closed test and was so surprised how it kept the pity bar even after getting an SSR like you showed. I did get the girl with the Chakrams and she was fun. Nice you got the biker girl I like her design. I really want the ice looking character with the sword and hope to get her on release. For everyone that doesn't know the soft pity is every 30 pulls it's not gaureented but has high chance of getting you one in standard and focused banners. So in short you get 3 SSR in starting 80 pulls and atleast 2 if your luck dagg sh!t
Chakrams big fella! and this system is way better than most Gotchas. Im pretty happy with it so far and they have been generous with drops and rewards!
here's a fun fact for wishing in the tower of fantasy; it is really easy to spot when you'll get an SSR. the way you can tell is if you see a flash of purple earlier than other pulls if the purple shows up before the after images of the weapon and characters pop up, then you will see the red light up at the end of the wishing animation.
450 for limited is i think is what is going to make me quit but alsooooooo 3 star charater are almost as viable 5 star charaters and copies ad a little bit of dmg
I have a rule that if your first time went bad or was unlucky then you should probably do a new account It might just be that account you started just has bad luck Now I can't say anything I haven't played the game I'm waiting on global but if that happened to me I'd restart.

The thing I love about this so far is how it feels like my time and play isn't being wasted and disrespected. Sure the free summons aren't great, but they're still useful as well as SSRs are still possible. Question though. What's that occasional red flash we get when pulling? I see it a lot but nothing visibly special is going on.

Also I got an even better laugh when I saw that the event to commemorate the new patch; you got rewards for getting points (lets say at 10,20,50 etc) and how did you get points? Every 1$ spend was 1 point LMAO
There's no such thing as a "generous" gacha system. If it's easy to get SSRs, then the SSRs are worth less. You either gonna need a bunch of dupes to even be decent, or most of the SSRs are just gonna be trash. Maybe not now at the beginning, but soon, eventually.

@@VolkinYT i just figured out what i was thinking about. MHA The Strongest Hero is one example where they changed it the pity for global. They went from 60 -> 100. But the S character rate went from .6->1.2. I remember that being a big issue because i was f2p on it and that basically guaranteed that you couldnt go for one copy of each new character and stay f2p.
P:GR did something similar, but through the backdoor, the INCREASED the price of the monthly pass and DECREASED its rewards so you could barely not save up for the next char witohut shilling out some schmeckles. Fuck em.
How do dupes work in this game then? I know when you get dupes in some games they just make the original character or weapon stronger, is that the same with this?
Yup up to 6 dupes can be used to enhance the weapon. However you can buy dupes in the store for this using a currency that you get F2P just for summoning
i'm so sad. i got 3 Tsubasa, 1 zero, 1 Huma. rn i only made 100 pulls on the normal banner idk about the purple orbs but that's where i got 1 tsubasa :(
As Volkin said, but I also think the character has unique passives as well, so you can choose to just use the weapon on your created character, or use the weapon on the character you pulled. Someone that is playing right now can confirm?
Yes. There are 3 types actually. 1) Normal dedicated PvP aka 1v1 mode with a ranking system. 2) Overworld PvP i.e. basically you challenging other players while exploring (this option can be turned on/off in the settings so you are no longer targeted by other players) 3) Battle Royale (as the name suggests is similar to other games in this genre) - will only be available in Version 2.1

@@jaerys8823 try holiest channel he grind the game hard so far what I have seen and heard pve u can grind in game cause there is so much to do so u don't have to spend money if u grind ...spending yes will allow u to get further in the game faster but its a f2p

@@jaerys8823 i heard it as well but like I said u can check out holiest channel he covers the game a lot ...the purple summon is what u find in game from grind as well why u think he has 400 of it ....u hit stuff in the game and u find the purple to collect ....most ppl like this game as well cause u have so much to do a lot of side quest to grind from so the map is large

Do gacha's ever change their pity system when releasing for global? I feel like ive seen some get much worse but cant remember any specific examples.
I cant think of a specific example tbh but i remember seeing the hate posts in the past
on global beta testing the gacha was the same and nothing has changed. I doubt that they would change the gacha system for the premiere
@@VolkinYT i just figured out what i was thinking about. MHA The Strongest Hero is one example where they changed it the pity for global. They went from 60 -> 100. But the S character rate went from .6->1.2. I remember that being a big issue because i was f2p on it and that basically guaranteed that you couldnt go for one copy of each new character and stay f2p.
P:GR did something similar, but through the backdoor, the INCREASED the price of the monthly pass and DECREASED its rewards so you could barely not save up for the next char witohut shilling out some schmeckles. Fuck em.

How do dupes work in this game then? I know when you get dupes in some games they just make the original character or weapon stronger, is that the same with this?
Yup up to 6 dupes can be used to enhance the weapon. However you can buy dupes in the store for this using a currency that you get F2P just for summoning
The color scheme for rarity is exactly like genshin....im not complaining, im actually relieved, I'll know when i get something good

Its the weapon but the weapon comes with the character to play as (more of a skin). Any character can use any weapon
As Volkin said, but I also think the character has unique passives as well, so you can choose to just use the weapon on your created character, or use the weapon on the character you pulled. Someone that is playing right now can confirm?

Question is if a max SR is better than a base or single dupe SSR.
They aren't. SR 6 star might say it has more attack than a 0 star SSR, but SSR has higher scaling in their damage, so they're always better.

Is there a pvp mode?
Yes. There are 3 types actually.
1) Normal dedicated PvP aka 1v1 mode with a ranking system.
2) Overworld PvP i.e. basically you challenging other players while exploring (this option can be turned on/off in the settings so you are no longer targeted by other players)
3) Battle Royale (as the name suggests is similar to other games in this genre) - will only be available in Version 2.1
^ this. Im really hoping for 2v2 or 3v3 and maybe 10 player battlegrounds with team objectives too. But those are just my dreams

It's an mmo most of it's content is multiplayer and that's refreshing compared to genshin always being alone
