    I just bought a 2009 automatic one and I absolutely love it , your def right about the rear end and being careful I am getting sensors put in tomorrow and a reverse camera It is hard to see out the back window reversing and as you say its very long The emissions are v high also and you get stung heavily on road tax and also parking zone permits are at the top end However these cars are a huge huge bargain and feel like total luxury on motorways , they sail along so smoothly and feel so luxurious It is a lot of car for the money .. Thirsty on fuel for sure and more a cruiser and motorway car than a nipping about town but long journeys are a joy

  • @q3b26
    @q3b26 4 года назад +5

    Always loved these. I used to have a Focus CC3 and had that car for years. You get used to the extra length after the rear window, the Focus actually has a longer boot than the C70 because of its two-piece roof mechanism rather than the C70's three-piece.
    Sold the Focus a few years ago and should've gone for the C70, instead I bought an XC40 and late last year I decided I needed a convertible again and went for a VW Golf GTI Cabrio. I still see these around, the trim I wanted was an SE Lux Solstice in brown with a silver roof I think they look fantastic but unfortunately here in the UK those only come in diesel as they dropped the petrol models for the final years.

      It's in the back of the wheel, along with all of the controls. It endless you too control the navigation without taking your hand off the wheel. It's very clever.
      There is also a remote control.

    So glad these videos are back to one a day. Best reviews on the internet. One thing though...sofyan, when you get cars like this which are coupes with a back seat, can you spend just a bit more time talking about the back seats? It's nice to know what its like back there for passengers. I know it's slightly inconvenient to crawl back there but it would just be nice to know

    Your information is wrong volvo did not stop producing stick shifts for the c70 in 2010. Sticks were offered until they canceled the C70 in 2013. Stick shifts are standard on all Volvos. I have a S80 that is fully loaded and still has a manuall 6 speed transmission.

    I'm not really complaining because it's not my channel, although I'm sure it will be taken that way by some in the comments here. I just found this kind of funny and am maybe offering a suggestion, despite this video being older and maybe it has already been adjusted in newer reviews. Early in the video he says Volvo is considered a luxury brand. Then further in the video, again, states that they are known for comfortable, boulevard cruisers. Then he later says he wished it had a meaner exhaust and that he couldn't hear it with the top up or down and hopes Volvo would do something about that in the future model iterations. Why? It's a luxury car. People who buy these types of cars want a quiet, comfortable ride, not some rice burning, misfiring, snap crackle pop, sounds like your grandpa snoring or wake up the neighbors nonsense. A loud, mean exhaust is for blatant attention seekers. It is almost literally a scream of "look at me"! This car takes a more seductive and subtle approach to garnering attention than, say, a run of the mill Honda Civic with a poorly tuned, aftermarket exhaust. While I'll admit, this car does fall short to other cars in it's class for other reasons, hoping for the exhaust to emulate a sports car or the much too common aftermarket bombarded import car is not a hit on the reviewed car, it's a hit on the reviewer.
    A review of a vehicle should be based on the specs and features of the car compared to what is expected from or what is available in that category of car, not based on the features associated with the category of car that the reviewer likes. Otherwise, every review would just be a description of what the reviewers perfect car is, regardless of what make or model of vehicle he or she is reviewing. Well, I'm driving this SUV but it sits too high off the ground. I wish it sat lower like a Lamborghini. I'm driving this compact fuel efficient car but I wish it had a better 0-60 time like the Lamborghini. Now, while I'm all about people having an opinion, I prefer reviews to be as unbiased a comparison as possible. Despite your love for louder exhaust and whatever else your preferred car has, try to put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for a luxury car and then ask yourself, is this a good feature to have for a car like this or a bad one? I think a loud exhaust on any vehicle is just dumb, that's my opinion, but in the category of luxury vehicle it is pretty much an industry standard to expect quiet cabin noise and exhaust. Just my two cents. Otherwise, loved the opportunity to virtually ride along with you in a very nice car.

    They definitely did improve the look of this with the facelift. I think they should have based it off the S60 rather than the S40. Nice video anyway, keep 'em coming!

    In Europe, the first 4 seater hard top convertibles sold from 2003 were the Renault Megane CC and Peugeot 307 CC, they were quite ugly though. 2006 was a big year for CCs as there was the Focus CC from Ford, the Eos from VW, the Astra Twintop from Vauxhall/Opel and then this C70. CCs are a dying market sement now though here.

  • @klukash
    @klukash 11 лет назад

    reason being why they did that was because at the time the c70 came out the s60 platform was aging already while the new s40 came out 2 years earlier, also that platform is very dynamic considering its the same one the mazda 3 uses and the older euro ford focus

    I just purchased a 2007 plated 2009 Volvo C70 2.4 auto hard top convertible in Melbourne Australia. Initially, I thought it was a lemon because the moment I drove it off the lot, this is after road testing the car, the engine made a whistling sound, it lost power under acceleration, and started to stall and shake - oh fuck how is my luck hey.
    (5) Obie the car guy who sold me the C70 was fantastic. He took the lead got on to it and replaced the battery because a message said the power was low and then the car wouldn't start not even a click.
    (6) Once the battery was changed it was like a new car. I didn't want to stop driving it and you couldn't get the smile off me face. I'm just so happy with my purchase. The stalling is gone. still need to find out what the strange noise is coming form the motor? Anyone with any clues?
    I am going to try and record the sound.

    I own 2 Volvo S80 and C70. This product is a total package of Safety and Performance. Volvo repair cost is affordable. BMW will drain your pocket on repairs unless repair cost is not an issue in your pocket. I take home 2 German Car Already but we end up returning it to the dealership. Mechanic said German Car is very expensive to repair, because there is no space for mech. to work on under the hood. They have to spend hours and hours before they can fix it even just for a simple thing that's why it is expensive, So instead I stay Loyal to be a Volvo owner. German car is good only if it's brand new then after 2 years trade it in while there is a full warranty for repairs from the Dealership but to keep it longer it's not a good idea. better buy Volvo.

    Mine is 2009. That 5 cylinder makes max torque from a 1500 to about 5000 rpm. The 5 speed auto has reduced torque in 1st and 2nd due to the low end torque which makes the car kinda slow off the line.

    I was looking at one of these or a Toyota Solara Convertible. I actually really liked the way the hard top looked on this one, plus it just has a sophisticated look to it. But, damn does Volvo's leather age BADLY! When I opened the doors it gave me the heebie jeebies. I also did not like how much trunk space the top took up, you can't store Anything in it unless you intend on only using it as a hardtop indefinitely. The Solara I ended up purchasing just aged so much better. The body and interior (especially the leather) aged without any major issues, ironically it has more miles too 😂. The Solara has a god awful blindspot in the back with the top up, I will be installing a backup camera for sure, the C70s blindspot was much less severe. But the selling point for me is the top in the Solara doesn't take much trunk room, and the back seat is bigger! I really don't know how they managed to make such a usable convertible.

    oh man for a quality video like this one you made in 2013 I'm surprised you haven't had more clicks / views /etc. wtf man why is it so? I dunno?
    Let's try and work out what the problem is here because:
    (1) you're a good looking Asian man, so people aren't going to switch over because you are fuggly and they don't want to look at you anymore. - they are not repulsed by you, ...so
    (2) WTF man ahhhh, reading the comments and they're all good - all the comments are GOOD, I don't get it!
    (3) you produce great content, it's about cars so there's a winner, your are an attractive man, your comments are positive ahhhh I see
    (4) I see what the problem is me thinks.... you missed covid lockdowns ie the first lot of comments are from 7 - 9 years ago and then they're from 1 year ago so you weren't producing content during the pandemic and so folk didn't know you were here.

    I'm not sure i'd call Volvo a "luxury brand." They make very nice cars, but i'd put them in the same class as Volkswagen. They're just decent cars, some higher up models, like VW's CC, are more luxurious, but the S40/S60 are NOT luxury cars. The only car that Volvo makes that i would call luxurious would be the S80 and maybe the XC90.

      Roy Diedesch I overlooked the Volvo for years ...but after finding a clean used one I found out they are just put together very well and the standard features are options on other cars...safe felling and solid...decent mileage too....oil changes with a wash for $39...try that at the BMW or BENZ dealer...After you drive the hard fast ones somewhere quiet and reliability become important in life too.
