"I don't know if all 7 of them have solo careers" girllll you could do down rabbit holes within rabbit holes when it comes to each of their solo careers. As a very short answer, yes, they do!!!
BTS and many other kpop groups prove that you can still be a group and be solo artists at the same. It's a lot of work, but it can work. And they are truly happy for each other's successes. They never show any jealousy or develop big egos.
So, he wrote this song during COVID and the album is inspired by that timeframe and how difficult it was for him during COVID. I think this video just symbolizes how he dreamt he was able to go out (in this case, to the club) but at the end he’s right back in his house, alone, as if he’d woken up from the dream. I think the “mud” is symbolizing that “stuck” feeling we all had when we were unable to go anywhere and stuck at home. I’m sure other ARMY will come through with an amazing detailed explanation for you though! 💜
so we had a reflection theory loll the way u said we will hav other theories is so funny cuz i hav seen so manyy explanations. so the girl is his reflection he is trying to hide more like the hardware side of him u could take that as anything like the feminine side of him or the emotions he deal with nd he tries to enjoys life by avoiding them but it still bothers him. few hints for this is at beginning someone pulls his hand nd that person has a jacket similar to his hardware photo shoot and the girl wears one similar to it too and the mirror scene and the mirror dance with a girl in choreo and in end he accepts that side hence mud on his hands and next track alone shows the emotions he deal with after accepting that side too
oh, I’m so glad you reacted to this! ☺️ to give you some context, the mud is basically the darkness within him, you can see a hand also covered in mud grabbing him in the beginning of the video so the scenes of him in the club are actually not real, he’s inside his subconscious. this song is inspired by a movie also called Like Crazy and Jimin said that he wanted to express the hurt after a breakup and the emotion of the moment when you try to run away from reality to forget you’re hurting. his whole EP was made based off the feelings he felt during the pandemic. also I loved what you said about gender bending cause Jimin’s been doing it for so long now lol he used to act very manly when they first started but he later said he noticed how hard he was trying to be a “tough man” and now he’s finally being himself, wearing heels, makeup (which is very much okay for men to wear in South Korea but he takes it to another level), “women’s” clothing and gender neutral clothing as well. he’s such an inspirational, beautiful person. 😊 (ps: you should watch Like Crazy’s performance on Jimmy Fallon!)
I totally agree! Did you Notice the Portraits on his pants in the bathroom part? It’s the photographer Robert mapplethorpe. It confirms what you say about jimin Setting himself free from certain expectations and the artistry in expressing this in this mv is so inspiring.
Jimin's FACE album is about his feelings on the pandemic, depression and his internal struggles.
All BTS members are great individual artists too, they had their individual projects before but this is the first time they can only focus on them.
They will be leaving for military service and the group will not be complete until 2025, they love being a part of BTS, they miss working together.
They support each other a lot, they are always proud of their brothers.
Yes, that why I get so confused when reactors say that it is feel good song. It is deep, dark, yes I love it and it is stuck in my head, but it almost makes my chest hurt in sorrow and pain.
Jimin is already breaking records worldwide with this solo project. The dance practice shows the choreography for it and it’s amazing.
Jin’s song Astronaut mv is good but the live concert version with Coldplay really hits your heart. He wanted a song to sing for Army before he left for mandatory military service. Simple beautiful.
Then RM released Indigo. Wildflower is awesome. Still Life is great as well. RM helps a lot in the lyrics to BTS songs
JHope, like Jin made the collab with his idol, J Cole. He is leaving next month for the military I think. But he left a song for Army.
Jungkook aka JK performed the song for FIFA World Cup I think it was. Dreamers.
Of course together is best but even as they take time for solo projects and the military service they work so hard. They are the very best. Watching how the came to be helps a lot.

♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even samples excerpts from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that many could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as wel as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe that was what all the dirty grimyness also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.

Do they all have solo careers? Short answer yes. They've all had multiple solo songs on BTS albums that they get to perform when they tour. Plus they've done OST's (original soundtracks) and separate solo collabs with other artists. RM has 2 mixtapes and 1 album, Jin has a single album, Suga has 2 mixtapes, J-Hope has 1 mixtape and 1 album, Jimin has 1 album, and Suga, Jungkook, and V are working on their first albums. And fun fact BTS is the only kpop group to have all members chart on the billboard hot 100 as soloists. And they never show jealousy or develop big egos, they are happy and celebrate each other's successes. I think part of what makes BTS so great as a group is they are all so different as soloists and can stand on their own. So when they come together it's magical.
Like Crazy is a song he wrote during the Pandemic after watching the movie LIKE CRAZY. During his interview he acknowledged he was going "crazy" and drinking to drunk. The other members saw this behavior but did not criticize him and just allowed him to work thru what he was going thru with their support. He admitted 2yrs later he got it together when they performed in Las Vegas.
A lot of K-Pop groups have solo projects and stay in the group. Very smart situation. I wish more American groups did the same.

The way I interpreted the album, based on the lyrics, imagery and what Jimin himself has said; this was an album that touches upon his depression throughout the pandemic as well and his identity. Except for the hidden track (which reads exactly like a love letter. The interview he did on AERA magazine actually points more to him writing it for Jungkook and BTS rather than only for ARMY), I interpreted the album as him questioning who he is. Rather than alcohol (although it can be a big part of it), it feels like he used to get drunk on the fame and his work, and not that he was without it he was questioning who he was without it. SMF, for example, touches upon how the expectations from outside sources made him suppress a lot of who he was but no longer. n his interviews over the last few days Jimin said that this whole album is inspired by how he was so depressed over the pandemic. He found not performing in front of fans so hard and there are many times over the pandemic there were behind the scenes videos were he said how hard he found performing without fans.
Regarding Like Crazy, Jimin said that it’s about escaping reality to deal with one's wounds. The "she" he is referring to isn't necessarily about a love interest but possibly represents Jimin's Anima. We see a girl whose movements mirror Jimin in the mv, they never meet before Jimin cuts to looking at himself in the mirror. What does the Anima means? - An individual's true inner self that in the analytical psychology of Carl Jung reflects archetypal ideals of conduct. Your anima is the unconscious part of your mind that works automatically, without introspection or awareness. Some psychologists believe one’s anima affects your dreams, fears, and habits (loop this back to what the song is all about).
The person with muddy hands who grabbed Jimin is Jimin himself. What do the mud represent? I'm not 100% sure, but my own personal reading is its Jimin's depression related to COVID (and the lack of live performances which he defined himself to) and long standing anxiety. These are the wounds mentioned but not elaborated by our baby. In the MV, Party Jimin is interrupted by the mud and he has to go home to Sad Jimin. Which of the 2 Jimin’s is in the real world? I haven't figured that out yet :( Maybe both of them are not, hence the dreamlike feel of the mv. Jimin himself asked not to be saved and not to be waken up from the dream. He doesn't want to go back to reality...
This mv reminds me of Suga's SHADOW but we are dealing with a different part of the SELF here, one not explored by BTS yet. RM did PERSONA while Hobi did EGO.
There's so much loneliness and desperation, under the cheery synthpop, I feel. He has said the dream he wants to stay in is BTS...so I took this song as a depiction of his anxiety during the pandemic, when they couldn't perform live, and he was feeling lost...he didn't want to be ripped from the dream, wanted to stay lost in the lights (of performing), didn't want the pandemic to break him. And I think the song also speaks of his other struggles, the tussles between his personas, etc. I felt it was so much deeper than I thought at the first listen. He has expressed those emotions so eloquently in his writing and conveyed them so effectively in his voice.
Like Crazy is very, very queer coded to me, which is not something new for Jimin, by the way. The way the woman (both in the MV and the choreo) mirrors him, it feels like a fight between femininity and masculinity, with him embracing both in the end. That, along with the inclusion of Mapplethorpe (which he has referenced before in his photopholio) and a hinted at WLW couple, made me relate a lot. As a queer person, the shot of Jimin standing above a video of people kissing striked me as an image with such loneliness, feeling as if love is unattainable for you, not seeing yourself in any of the images of love out there, being alienated of everything people make love to be...Also, the Anima is an inner feminine part of the male personality. Hence the boy and girl kissing is probably Jimin's masculine and feminine side coming together.

It is long but you will get a new level of understanding why they have such a big following and you will also get a good idea about how to continue discovering them. I know it's not the usual stuff you watch on your channel, but if you really want to give them a chance that video will change your perception for sure.
Jimin did a dance practice version of this song that you should definitely check out. One of Jimin's best attributes is his dancing and he is so smooth with this one.

I thought you were going to also react to the live performances from Jimmy Fallon last Friday night. I would recommend you do that next because there's choreography in that.
Please react to Like Crazy Explained by the channel Bookish Theories. She does an excellent job and you'll find out that this song isn't such a happy song. But you'll understand the visuals a lot better since you like those. She does voice over in English but she has an accent so it will be helpful if you put on the subtitles as well.
