Exactly. You actually get a feeling of the underlying problems of people living in the neighborhoods of Chicago. You literally feel like you are in the apartment with the people Rosemarie interviewed. There is nothing like this going on today.
Yes, and although issues are similar, the way it's reported is far different! This is just the facts of what was known about what happened. There's not a lot of supposition, nor are there any partisan politics!

There's little documentation about him after the shooting, but he received a 20-year sentence in jail, so if he's still alive, he's been free for over 20 years at this point.
@@arthuridis Of all the local ABC lead anchors from that era, I'd say Fahey Flynn was cut from a similar cloth as Jerry Dunphy. Both were ebullient showmen of the news. Yes they don’t do that anymore. I belonged to a Nautilus health club in 1977 that was owned by a woman who smoked in the club while you worked out. That doesn’t happen anymore either 😅. Sometimes we joined her for an after work out smoke. Those were the days
I never thought I would miss watching old news I saw as a little kid.
Wow. News was so much more thorough back then.

I went to high school with the young man who was killed in that arcade shooting. We were friends. Have thought about him a lot over the years.
What place replaced the arcade?
Sorry to hear that - what was his name? Did they ever catch who did it?

Fahey Flynn was old school before old school was old school
He was your version of Detroit's Bill Bonds

" Good evening ladies and gentlemen I'm Fahey Flynn".
When news was really news.
Love the Marriott's Great America ad as well as the man helping his wife with the laundry in the Dynamo ad.
Brings a tear to my eye.
P.J. Soles and Charlene Tilton in the Soft N Dry Commercial. Dynamo...The Little Blue Jug is DYNAMO! I remember both these commercials quite well!
HOT!!!!!!!!!!

I was a about nine but I do too
You can still find Dynamo in some dollar stores ❣️
Yeah, I call it eye rash spring!
Plus, I had left Chicagoland by '77
Those were the days 🙂
Fred Villanueva had stops at KNBC and KTLA in addition to his stint at WLS.
Usually most stations will keep airchecks for a year for legal purposes. I wonder if any others may have survived.
I was three and grew up in mount prospect. I had no idea there was a shooting at just games. Wow
I bet if we had body cams then, we’d find the police were lying out their asses.
Imagine news being about facts and not just whatever video was on hand.
Surprised they named the minors who were shot

7 days before Elvis died
Arcade shooting ?
Terrible crime.
A tradition, channel 7 eyewitness news at 6 and 10. Too bad Joel isn't here.
I hope y’all will reply to this this was a month and three days before my 8th birthday
I was a snot nosed four year old 😁😜
So was I.
Did the cops identify themselves!
