    Great video showing the myriad of choices available to new players and the experience of making it through those choices. As one commenter already said, the first month is the most crucial time. I too was wary of joining a corp right away because of limited time to play, etc. But I have to say joining a corp was one of the best things I did. And you're not locked in indefinitely so leaving a corp once the experience was getting stale is also quite important. Looking forward to your next vid. Keep em coming.

    So you live in Verge Vendor, i'll hop by and give you guys nudge next time it connects.
    I must say eve is a blackhole of time, i digged insane amount of time. I believe the 1st month is the most important ^^
    Been in for 4 years and only starting to acheive my long standing dream to get a capital ship !
    Definitely digging more story telling from eve ! The star wars versus eve was awesome and you are talented

      Thank you. Yes I think the trick with eve is not to spend long periods of time on it but a little bit here and there with consistency. FORCE yourself to do something else esp if you feel salty or impatient.

    *Very* good storytelling start. Honest, personable, well-produced. And I agree with another commenter, "command thousands of other space nerds" was a bust-up line.
    Very good high-altitude overview for new players.

    Hey, Resurrected Starships. I'm kinda new to the channel, though I've watched your Thrawn vs the Empire & Star Wars vs Star Trek series. I was wondering though, could you create a series based on the Empire, or some other group from the Star Wars galaxy, invading the Milky Way Galaxy in the Stargate series?

    My first low sec jump got me podded. Most of the subsequent trips often lead me to the same fate. But I was entering near trade hubs. Move away from those and it’s much easier.

    What a fun little series! I first heard about EVE from Scott Manley back in the day, but I always assumed that EVE was a waste of people’s money, like most people who heard about the game.
    But this series will be neat and lots of fun! I do like some of the concepts in EVE, bu would never play it myself because I don’t trust myself not to get addicted. I don’t know much about EVE, so this should be fun. Looks like the kind of game where you have to outsmart everyone on the playing field, so this should be a neat story!
    By the way, if you could change one mistake you felt you’ve made in the past six years playing EVE, what would it be?

    • @HuntingTarg
      @HuntingTarg 2 года назад

      Scott Manley's video on The Fountain War was my first introduction that EVE had a social structure & subcultures; 'not just an immense MMORPG.'
      His tutorial on EVE is long, involved, detailed, and I think a bit outdated at this point, but seems like a good 'tutorial' for anyone who wants to 'learn as you play.'

    • @HuntingTarg
      @HuntingTarg 2 года назад

      I honestly enjoy learning about EVE from good RUclipsrs like this (because there are many who are either not accomplished RUclipsrs, or not accomplished players);
      but I don't ever plan or intend to play EVE, simply because it IS another life, and unless I am medically housebound I won't have any justification for dumping months or years of my able-bodied life into a virtual existence.

    I'm looking into downloading the game, but I was unsure because of many of the reviews on the steam page about unfairness, and other problems. Would you recommend it or should I look at other games?

    • @resurrectedstarships
      @resurrectedstarships  6 лет назад +1

      Aaron Darling umm it's only unfair in the same sense real life is often unfair. If you hate poker and can only play chess with an equally experienced player eve is not for you.

    • @JeanLucCaptain
      @JeanLucCaptain 6 лет назад

      basically, EVE is a Secoind Life. full of some truly horrible people. it's basically wall street on steroids. in space.

    • @josepablo011986
      @josepablo011986 6 лет назад

      Those reviews on steam are nonsense. Eve is a great game with a lot of possibilities. My recommendations for you: start in high sec, think what do you want to do on EVE, when you decide your path, go and search for a corp, but do it carefully, because on Eve exists some corporation who want make you a slave or taking everything from you (my own experience) and try to trust on the less amount of players, but, when you find friends they become good friends; happen the same with the corps. I try 3 corps and the number 3 was and is a great corporation with trustworthy people. Just give one oportunity to EVE Online.

    • @resurrectedstarships
      @resurrectedstarships  6 лет назад +2

      That's a really good point. No its not an escape in the same way other games are; at least not for me. More of an 'alternative reality' but not an escape really.

    • @Tanymsun
      @Tanymsun 6 лет назад

      Actually you skill up even when you aren't playing. That's the good thing about even. The method of gaining skill points. The issue is you need to play to make isk to buy what you want to use. Also you need to figure out your style of game play by being inside the game.

    EVE the game that claims to be PVP , yet only a tiny fraction of the game is has any form of actual PVP. Confusing , overcomplicated , delusional over its own depth but still overall the best sci fi RPG that is fueled by the pure fun factor that is so much player driven and unique. Great graphics too. Personally I came with PVP could not find any so I am sticking for the overall experience of making my own content like you. Making own story. Though in my case I have not ambitious of world dominance in the EVE universe that is by nature so chaotic. Just occupy my tiny corner and contribute in the player created content which I enjoy so much. What make EVE awesome is that is such a powerful sandbox game. True the mechanics are terrible and the documentation in game and outside by far the worst I found in any game of this depth but still there is a lot of freedom to keep you occupied.

    • @xellotathtier2356
      @xellotathtier2356 6 лет назад

      Only a tiny fraction of the game has PVP? Lol wut. Even mining is PVP. Everything is PVP in this game. If you mean ships killing each other, look at the map or check zkill and you will see plenty of kills per day. I don't know how you can't find any PVP, you must be completly oblivious to your surroundings.
      As far as mechanics go. A lot of people say that the mechanics are bad because you don't fly your ship with a joystick or don't have to aim your sights to your target, but the truth is, any RPG, not just EVE, takes more skill than moving a joystick around. Having to know about tracking, the different ranges of weapons, space magic (e-war), etc, is far more interesting that just shooting in FPS sytle. You can't even kite in those games. The strategy is pretty straight foward. You try to be in the ass of your opponent and aim your sight, much like a jet fight. EVE is far more interesting with different tactics, hundred of ships that are actually different and a non-arena environment.
      I get it that a lot of people get to this game because it has space ships, but this game has more in common with games of the like of Dark Souls or Minecraft, rather than Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen.

      Can't find PVP ? LOL dude get into Low Sec, not every system but if you learn how to read your map you can find plenty of action.
      P.S. Try undocking
