This movie came out 29 years ago. God it's hard to believe. At the time of the release, much of, perhaps most of the WW2 generation was still alive. For them, they lived it. I'm sure the flashback of raw emotions and memories while watching this must have felt all too real.
This movie, Escape from sobibor, Sometimes in April, Hotel Rwanda and Sarafina are some of the most heart breaking movies that are based on real life stories that took place.

Schindler's list was my favorite movie when I was younger, I watched It so many times I knew all the lines, but now that I am 41 it's much more painful to watch because the more you become older, the more you are aware of the cruelty of human being and seeing all that pain and suffering becomes unbearable.
Fun Fact : Schindler's List was filmed about 75 days which was less than 5 months. This movie is an absolute masterpiece. It truly deserved to win Best Picture and Best Director with Neeson should've won Best Actor tho
I heard about movie "Schindler's List" after someone mentioned it as "the most hilarious movie ever" and get so many upvotes, I didn't read the comment further and proceed to watch the movie. And it is one of the best movie I've watch in my entire life, I wish I could watch some of this mixed feeling like this one. But you know, there is no same movies that provides the same feels.
The kashmir Files, another masterpiece you can't unsee it . It is our Schindler's List . Heart wrenching, lumping throat 💔. Finally, a movie on Kashmiri Hindu Genocide. Another Genocide world is not aware of
Its my lifelong dream and mission to make a movie of this level on plight of Hindus during islamic conquest of Indian subcontinent. No one knows about it and very few talk about it.😞🙏🏼
As Pole myself I am incredibly proud this movie was shot in Kraków. I recently visited the Oscar Schindler’s factory and a few streets around town which were used in the movie. It was an incredible experience. I also understand how hard it was for Mr. Spielberg to direct it. It is however one of the most important movies ever made. May history never repeat itself again. Greetings from Poland.
The Schindler's Ark book is a work of historical fiction which describes actual people and places with fictional events, dialogue and scenes added by the author and reconstructed dialogue where exact details are unknown. While adapting the book screenwriter Steven Zaillian spoke with survivors of the events portrayed in the movie for authenticity.Spielberg used many of the actual locations of the actual events in the movie.I feel Schindler's List is very authentic in it's characterization of events portrayed in the film
I have never made a second attempt to watch it. Watching it one time, was enough. Watched it in 2004, I knew a lot about holocaust by then, and was well informed about ww2. But this one movie shook me to the core, it put me in their shoes. Undoubtedly, this is the greatest movie ever made imo (keeping in mind movies like godfather, saving private Ryan, citizen ken, shawshank redemption etc), just that I am not brave enough to watch it again. I'm not a stranger to sad movies or hard hitting ones. But this is something else. The whole film was black and white except the last scene and the scene with the little girl. Now, as a dad of a little girl myself, I'll have to make a tough decision to ask her to watch it when she is grown up.
Well, are you allowed to question it? Is it unreasonable to ask for proof? We are asking for proof in the current conflict but none has been provided (it would be disrespectful for some reason), but we have seen many obviously fake stories and pictures from Israel. Truth is the first casualty of war.@@seanhart9706
I read recently that filming this was so hard for Spielberg, and Robin Williams, who was his friend, called him every evening and did about 15 minutes of stand up comedy to get him through it. Loved it. And loved Robin Williams. He was a good guy
I watched Schindler's List back in the 90's. I remember parts of it and remember crying but I have forgotten much of it. So I am watching it for a 2nd time thanks to Netflix. 9/10/2019.
I've been reading all the comments here, and I'd like to ask others not to post things about Israel or terrorists or politics in these specific comments. This movie is about a man who saved many people in a horrible time - a time when many people died - not about opinions or hatred in today's society. This movie is in honor of Schindler and the people who died from the Holocaust - respect that, and please take your comments elsewhere.
The last part when those people were putting stones on his grave really put me through tears. Oskar Schindler was a very selfless businessman, an amazing humanitarian and Liam Neeson was incredible in this film ♥️🐐
I watched this movie while very pregnant with my first child. My husband is Jewish, and my son was raised Jewish. My back ached like crazy but I couldn't leave my seat or take my eyes off the screen. I love a lot of films but nothing I have seen since has impacted me as much as this did.
@Ronit Mehta so that justifies the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus. Thanks for clarifying and justifying the genocide of Hindus afterall that incident justifies killing lakhs of people
John Williams score for this film is so hauntingly beautiful. Such a good compliment to this movie masterpiece. I left the cinema with a lump in my throat and a very heavy heart. Emotionally painful to watch because the events happened in real life.

The fact that this happened not even a hundred years ago breaks my heart. Humanity is dead
who saves a single life, saves the entire world
who kills a single life, kills the entire world
This line is made joke now by the acts of those who believe that book.
If you killed somebody to save yourself or some other innocent person what do you perform saving the world or killing the world?
@Poor Gaming Quran stole it from the Jews. Most of the Quran is a copy.
This movie needs to be shown in every high school across the nation.
90% of the history classes I took either told us we were bad for letting Slavery happen or we were bad for letting the holocaust happen don't worry the guilt train is running strong. The only time I learned something else besides those two topics is when I took an American history course when I studied abroad.
@@MartyMacFry I’ve become more interested in history lately but the only time I really learn it is on my own time, at home. 90% of the time we do nothing in history besides write down vocab and answer a few questions.
@@zachunholz9130 I can tell you are lying because all you did was say what I said and reversed it even using the same number I stated. I will never get what the point of lying about this is?
@@MartyMacFry what lol? I was agreeing with you because it’s true. I wasn’t tryna copy you. I used the same number because 90% of the time we really don’t learn a thing. Meaning pretty much every single class.
@@zachunholz9130 Ok my bad then your post was confusing to me sounded like you were trying to say you saw the opposite.
There has not been a more engrossing or well acted movie since its release. Pure brilliance from credits to credits.
so this is my 2000th time watching this. It's so fking emotional

"The List is life" - Itzhak Stern
When you are certain that you recognize that voice from somewhere and then you realised he voiced Aslan in Chronicles of Narnia.... Two completely different movies and two completely different characters. Liam Neeson is a very talented actor.
"the list is an absolute good...the list is life...all around its margins lies the gulf" 💔😢
After watching the Kashmir Files I watched this movie again.......and understood better.
I'm here after "The Kashmir Files"
.🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
I heard about movie "Schindler's List" after someone mentioned it as "the most hilarious movie ever" and get so many upvotes, I didn't read the comment further and proceed to watch the movie. And it is one of the best movie I've watch in my entire life, I wish I could watch some of this mixed feeling like this one. But you know, there is no same movies that provides the same feels.
I didn't expect that kind of sarcasm (the 9gag post) to be that dark
The fear of India, my own country, moving in the same path of sacrificing humanity brought me here.

The kashmir Files, another masterpiece you can't unsee it . It is our Schindler's List . Heart wrenching, lumping throat 💔. Finally, a movie on Kashmiri Hindu Genocide. Another Genocide world is not aware of
Sahi bola
This has got to be in the official top 5 best movies of all the goddamn Earth's time.
2019? My mom told me that this movie was a great movie she ever watched in his time.
Its my lifelong dream and mission to make a movie of this level on plight of Hindus during islamic conquest of Indian subcontinent. No one knows about it and very few talk about it.😞🙏🏼
@kill mnoj muslims are suffering everywhere in world because of their religion no one can help them. Dalits are hindus only.
"Power is when we have every justification to kill and we don't"
Same type of movie released in india named THE KASHMIR FILES.... no tv shows or big star cast has come to promote 😔😔😔
Imagine if someone told a fantastic story and no one was allowed to question it. You'd naturally have some questions about that.
Lol citizen Ken!😂😂😂
@@Willy_Tepeswhat?
Well, are you allowed to question it? Is it unreasonable to ask for proof?
We are asking for proof in the current conflict but none has been provided (it would be disrespectful for some reason), but we have seen many obviously fake stories and pictures from Israel. Truth is the first casualty of war.@@seanhart9706
I'm glad this movie won Best Picture! I think it was one of Steven Spielberg's best films ever!
RiP oskar schindler 😢
Rip Raoul wallenberg. They both did the same thing but raoul saved tens of thousands
I'll definitely watch this, I sort of have this weird love for War and Slavery movies. Does anyone else do too?
Meeee
@Your Majesty, yes I’ve watched all of them
I read recently that filming this was so hard for Spielberg, and Robin Williams, who was his friend, called him every evening and did about 15 minutes of stand up comedy to get him through it. Loved it. And loved Robin Williams. He was a good guy

This movie is a masterpiece. The best Spielberg movie overall and one of the greatest movies of all time.
I watched Schindler's List back in the 90's. I remember parts of it and remember crying but I have forgotten much of it.
So I am watching it for a 2nd time thanks to Netflix. 9/10/2019.
Thomas Keneally the famous Australian Author wrote Schindler''s List and was adapted to one of the greatest movies ever and should never stop playing
Yes interesting, every war around Australians are involved or in some way shape its story.
Nowadays, when a film's in black and white, you know it's symbolism.
I remember our late President Manuel Quezon from this movie.
jews are like brothers and sisters to us filipino's.
The last part when those people were putting stones on his grave really put me through tears. Oskar Schindler was a very selfless businessman, an amazing humanitarian and Liam Neeson was incredible in this film ♥️🐐
John Williams music is so beautiful.
I watched this movie while very pregnant with my first child. My husband is Jewish, and my son was raised Jewish. My back ached like crazy but I couldn't leave my seat or take my eyes off the screen. I love a lot of films but nothing I have seen since has impacted me as much as this did.
1993 was a very busy year for Steven Spielberg, since he was working on this movie at the same time he was working on Jurassic Park.
And they are both a masterpiece
Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes turned in an unbelievable acting performance.
Watch kashmir files that film will melt your heart 💔💔
@Ronit Mehta so that justifies the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus. Thanks for clarifying and justifying the genocide of Hindus afterall that incident justifies killing lakhs of people

What is it about
John Williams score for this film is so hauntingly beautiful. Such a good compliment to this movie masterpiece. I left the cinema with a lump in my throat and a very heavy heart. Emotionally painful to watch because the events happened in real life.
Now, it is being said that something of this kind is currently happening in China, although I have just heard about it. If this should be true, then we have no right to justify ourselves anything coming from China. Let it be goods or ideas.
And now they are repeating this movie, but this time they are antagonist because the Protagonists are Homeless ones.
Schindler's list is one of the best movies of all time
Schindler's List tells how one can save other's lives and The Pianist tells how one can save own life. Schindler's List tells the tale of humanity and other one about the survivor. This movies literally makes me cry!
A phenomenal movie that is important for everyone to see. It fabulously tells the heartbreaking story of Oskar Schindler. One of the best movies of our time.
I liked the part when Schindler said: "It's listing time!"...
