My first time hearing this rendition. It was just playing on the radio, I decided to look for it. This song went through my heart and soul to my my bones. I felt that each musician was playing the respective instrument with heart. Tears came to my eyes.
I still think his relationship with that world is complex and somewhat conflicted, and I can understand why he feels that way. He sees the creativity in how people repurposed his music to make something new, but he still also seems disappointed that People didn’t ask for his permission or invite him to actually collaborate.
