•Joseph or Yosef, was the eleventh son of Jacob and first son of Rachel in the book of Genesis. He is also mentioned prominently in the Qur'an as a Prophet, most notably in the 12th chapter, named after him. The story of Joseph is told in Genesis, chapters 37-50 (one of the longest continuous narratives in the Bible).
Joseph is one of the best-known figures in the Torah, famous for his coat of many colors (although this is a possible mistranslation of the Hebrew phrase "kethoneth passim" which means a "shirt with sleeves".

i don't understand how someone can sell their own sibling. Even if they are the favorite, I could never sell my own sister. Little siblings are supposed to be cherished and loved and you're supposed to be proud to carry the weight that burdens them. Even if they hated joseph, how could they sit there and cause so much pain and horror to their own parents (well, father). Don't they love their father? Why would they torture him? I don't understand how people could be so cruel.

Jealousy makes people do bad things, since it is a part of our sin nature. Yet these events were a part of God's plan, for if Joseph had not been sold and imprisoned for over 10 years Egypt and his whole family would have not survived the drought.

They tried to make the movie, and its a good movie. But, some of the info is inaccurate... but I give them props. They highlighted the best parts of the Story.
Understand that even though it was a biblical movie it still was made by a mainstream company for entertainment. I'm sure there wasn't any singing in real life either 😆

Actually their father started all that mess by not being considerate with them at all, even with Joseph, he said he wanted same treatment as his brothers and spend time with them and Rachel was agree, just after that Jacob let him go with them. He needed to learn that lesson but I feel bad for Joseph's mother, I wish she could have lived to see her family all together at the end.

Judah being the last to leave Joseph is heartbreaking since you can see his regret, but knowing he can’t undo his decision.
Yes, and this could be my own interpretation but it looked like when Joseph is being sold, Judah was going to step forward and call the whole deal off, but Simeon persuaded him not too. So if hadn't been for Simeon Joseph might not have been sold, and maybe that is one of the reasons why Joseph imprisons Simeon when the brothers go to Egypt.

I always think about before this moment, Joseph's brothers being every anti-bullying campaign's worst nightmare.
Also, how were Joseph's brothers (I'm looking at you, Judah) able to sell Joseph off and then be able to look Jacob in the eye and lie to him. I would never be able to hold my head up again.
