Your color choices were great. I would have never thought of quit magenta over the sienna color because of the rule of cool color pushes to the background and warm to the foreground. But the color choice speaks to the significance of chroma (correct me if i am wrong) and how the quin magenta and its placement still grabs your attention. It was a great decision.
Thank you so much, Yes I don't tend to follow the rules that often (they're there to be broken right! hehe) but I knew I wanted to make the burnt sienna cooler by adding more of a magenta tone and thought that this would work well with a pale yellow/green for contrast.
Thank you so much. It's painted on board primed with gesso. I use these from Jackson's www.jacksonsart.com/jackson-s-5mm-wooden-painting-panel-8x8in-pack-of-5

Hi Kate, what medium are you using? Not sure it could be Acrylics or Gouache or maybe oil? Would be interesting to know. thank you
Ah yes. It's heavy body acrylic paint.
I wondered are you working from a reference or from imagination?
I was working from imagination on this one thinking of the moorlands near where I live :)
