I guess it didn't bother anyone else that she missed placing the 1 in block 9 right in the beginning. Then I miss a lot of stuff myself so I can't talk too much. But I kept seeing it and expecting her to see it... lol
Love these videos - thanks so much for making them and hoping to up my sudoku game with some more practice. The color coding for the what-if scenario was very helpful.
Very hard one .. I appreciate your skills in solving the puzzle.. could not understood how 2 came in 8th block.. once again thanks for the detailed explanation.🙏
Great Video. I am enjoying watching you solve the puzzle. I was wondering you had mentioned that this puzzle was in HoDoKu; how did you get rid of the candidates but still be able to add them back later on? I am asking because when I hid the candidates but could not add them when I wanted to.
I did this without notations and solved it on the bais of the 27 pair quite visible in row 8 at col 2 and 7, plus the additional 27 bi-value cell at r2c2. A bit of mental gym to examine the restrictions this implied for the 2s and 7s elswhere followed by a couple of alternative scenarios and bingo, i got it and completed the puzzle in 20 minutes. No fishing for swordfish or inspection of high rise buildings for me, I am too dumb to see that !
I worked this out using Hodoku, and when I got stuck, it found a 2 string kite, the skyscraper, and a W wing. I'm still learning to find these advanced patterns and remember the rules.
Hello and thank you for your heloful videos. Thanks to your lessons, the sudoko puzzles I have been doing are now too easy. Can you please recommend a digital platform for challenging puzzles?
When doing the chain, do you just randomly pick a cell to check? Do you check the chain only using cells with 2 candidates only? Thanks! LOVE your videos.
I beleive that the swordfish on 2s does not work it is explained. Assuming 2 in r1C1 implies that there is not 2 in r1c5, but it doe NOT imply the 2 is in r4c5, it can very well be elsewhere in the central box.
Because the cell in row 2 column 9 can ONLY be a 4 or an 8, and since we just place the 8 in that column, then it MUST be a 4. Check that cell and you'll see it can only be a 4 or 8. Once the 8 is eliminated, it has to be a 4.
no luck, just good pencil marking. That cell could only be a 4 or 8, so once the 8 is eliminated, it has to be a 4! Sorry I didn't explain that as I was doing it.
Very entertaining puzzle with yet another good job in patiently teaching the viewers how to find their way through it. And btw, that particular type of forced chain is called W-Wing
Thanks Yola for the question. If you look at the pencil notation, that cell was a 4,8. Since we just placed an 8 above it in the same column and block, it can no longer be an 8, so it HAS to be a 4! Hope that helps!
Moving on from 1s to 2s, you did not look at all of the given 1's. Had you done so, you would have finalized the 1 in the lower-right block and pencilled the 1s in the upper right block. By starting a step but not finishing it, well, not so good, eh?
I enjoy your animations and approach to solving, quite methodical. Thanks for featuring this puzzle that had multiple advanced strategies.
Thanks Smart Hobbies!
in the begining you could have put a 1 in column 9, cell 7
One of the best tutorials for Sudoku I have ever encountered! I have subscribed to follow up on the remaining lessons 🙂
TY for this one. I used SET around the corners using Aad's SET patterns. It was truly fun.
One question to 11:54. Why is this a naked Single? Why can‘t the 8 be in Column 8 as well?
Basically it was a naked single because none of the other numbers could have been put in this cell. The other 8's in the block don't matter.
I guess it didn't bother anyone else that she missed placing the 1 in block 9 right in the beginning. Then I miss a lot of stuff myself so I can't talk too much. But I kept seeing it and expecting her to see it... lol
Like heartburn. And it was the last block she did lmao i was so relieved when she finally came to it
Yes. Bitch ass made an effort to teach the whole process but overlooked the most simple thing. Really bothers me.
It got to me right away. Why didn’t she her me yelling? It happens.
Yes!!! Drove me nuts lmao my cat was looking at me like, why are you yelling at your phone? 😂
True🤣🤣
Thanks for explaining so well, at times repeating elimination technique.
Great Example of all 3 techniques. . Thank you for the videos
Thank you for the comment, I appreciate it!

When you were scanning for 1s you missed a chance to put the 1 in cell I7.
Very hard one .. I appreciate your skills in solving the puzzle.. could not understood how 2 came in 8th block.. once again thanks for the detailed explanation.🙏
Good explanation of the skyscraper and swordfish. I like your logical approach.
What sudoku software did you use for presentation?

The last technique used is not a forcing chain, it's a w-wing though
I worked this out using Hodoku, and when I got stuck, it found a 2 string kite, the skyscraper, and a W wing. I'm still learning to find these advanced patterns and remember the rules.

Why was the 5 excluded from Cell A1 from the beginning? that messed up the explanation of the swordfish as it seemed illogical to me
When doing the chain, do you just randomly pick a cell to check? Do you check the chain only using cells with 2 candidates only? Thanks! LOVE your videos.
Great tutorial! Thank you
Is this technique Master level or Fiendish or Extreme ?
Amazing! Thank you for this video! Very clearly explained. 👏
Glad it was helpful and thank you for the feedback!
We need more of this serieeeeees
Very Very thanks for giving me much knowledge sloveing sudoku
Snyder notation can be done with the 9 in block 7!!!
I think it is better not to mix "Snyder" notation and candidates. I prefer that candidates are filled in to the centre.
I had a Bug+1 situation cuz‘ I had already removed the 1 from R1C7 which solved the puzzle quicker
Candidate 1 from column 9 should not be there.
I beleive that the swordfish on 2s does not work it is explained. Assuming 2 in r1C1 implies that there is not 2 in r1c5, but it doe NOT imply the 2 is in r4c5, it can very well be elsewhere in the central box.
Can we send you our unsolved puzzle?
Yeah, I learned something…..I’d rather watch you struggle than me 😋lol
Happy to oblige!
Thanks!
Hello Mam, I stuck in a Sudoku puzzle. Can you help me to solve it ?
You're a good teacher but I did this puzzle without any strategies an guessing.
12:06 Why can't column 9's 4 be at row 8?
Because the cell in row 2 column 9 can ONLY be a 4 or an 8, and since we just place the 8 in that column, then it MUST be a 4. Check that cell and you'll see it can only be a 4 or 8. Once the 8 is eliminated, it has to be a 4.

Best ever tutorial. Thanks
Very hard
Thank you
Thanks!
Thank YOU I appreciate it!

Thanks Milos, I appreciate the comment!
12:05 - "This cell has to be a 4" ...ummm why is that? how did you come to that conclusion? As thorough as you are, you never explained that one.
Thanks Yola for the question. If you look at the pencil notation, that cell was a 4,8. Since we just placed an 8 above it in the same column and block, it can no longer be an 8, so it HAS to be a 4! Hope that helps!
Am I the only one that thinks that the "what if" strategy is not fair?
i know that you are a twin sister of professor Snape from Harry Potter dont lie to us ! :D
Moving on from 1s to 2s, you did not look at all of the given 1's. Had you done so, you would have finalized the 1 in the lower-right block and pencilled the 1s in the upper right block. By starting a step but not finishing it, well, not so good, eh?
I stopped watching at 0:59 because it made no sense to ignore the 1 in box 6!
Box 9!
Pitiful just pitiful .... first move of ones missed the one in block nine.
Vos explications sont très très très longues. Beaucoup de paroles bla bla bla.
