Santa Barbara actually should have won "Best Daytime Show" in 1986, 1987, and 1988. It was simply the best show in Daytime Television during those years. I know they also won in 1989 and 1990, but I think those wins were based more on past glory than anything else.
I was so happy and so proud of Santa Barbara for winning this Emmy. They were the new kids on the block, and this was the start of a 3/4 year run where they won damn near EVERYTHING. While they were never a highly rated show, it truly was one of if not THE most brilliant Soap Operas to ever grace the airwaves. From the writing to the producing, to the directing to the acting, you would be hard pressed to ever find a more talented & creative group than the one that gave us Santa Barbara from 1986-1991.

Nice surprise for Ross Kettle nomination. I knew Robin Wright was nominated every year, but didn't know about him. Both deserved it.
