Hallo, lieber Paul! Konnte heute leider nicht live dabei sein. Habe Deine Vorstellung aber nun gehört. War ein wenig anders als Deine letzte Aufführung in Bezug auf das kraftvolle "God save the King" aber es hatte auch was. Vielen Dank für die Präsentation. Viele herzliche Grüße von Steffen aus Görlitz.
Enjoyed the demo. Moving an English tubular pneumatic action organ from England to Germany really must have been a labor of love. Next I know there'll be a Cavaille-Coll in Leipsig. :) It sounds very much like a concert hall-scaled English instrument in a fairly dry space. Good but unexpected. Tom Trotter would be at home with this instrument.
Thank you, Jim!! So true - I was surprised about the acoustics as well! Haha, well - I guess it will take some more time till our CC-Organ is finished but if it is, I‘ll try everything to get my hands on it for a video 😀
@@PaulFey It reminds me of so many relocated pipe organs. Built for one acoustic, they are often very wrong for another. It is also a reminder of the organ builder's art of matching new pipework with the space. Most often, they get it right. But when they don't, you just never hear anything from that organ later. ..... We have a good example of this in Cleveland. A large Skinner symphonic organ was built to be in an attic over the stage with tone openings in the ceiling. It was almost never used. In 2000, they renovated and relocated it to the back wall of the stage of the same hall (with hall acoustics designed for an orchestra). The result? A large, expensive, poor combination that rarely gets played. Many of the stops are badly scaled for their placement, and the ensemble is rather spoiled. There's only so much a voicer can fix.
This is a wonderful presentation of this truly historic organ. I read the history of this English organ and it's truly amazing. Your video has given me a better understanding of just what an English organ is. This is a warmer, yet a fully dynamic sound. Obviously much different than German Baroque organs. Thanks for the hints of English music in your improvisations. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and learned a great deal. Thanks, Paul.
Undeniably majestic stops like an English monarch/royal that it’s presence is truly captivating & dignified❤️. Again showcased by an extremely gifted organist, this organ sample set have been truly made us admire its beauty and I’m just in pure awe just when I thought I heard the nicest English organ, I was wrong. I will have to say this is now my new favourite as for English organ sampleset. Once again Paul, THANK YOU❤️
Beautiful demo, my dear most favourite organist. I hope you share my opinion that this is a special sampleset, because the voices are so different. Please share your impression? The very lovely flutes, the Vox Angelica, the Tuba, Clarinettes: they are amazing! And don't forget the outstanding tremolo's. Can I hope for a demo on the real organ? It's so close to you. 😃Oh that would be really fantastic, my dear organfriend 🙏😊
Thank you so much! It’s a typical english organ and I really like those! I was surprised with the acoustics though - it though they‘d be much grander 😀
Honestly, people nowerdays think they need 32' reeds in the pedal, however that trombone just does the job. Kenneth tickell used lots of 16' pedal trombones in the organs he built and you can see why. Anyways, amazing organ, thanks for such a well-shown presentation, paul. Something that I always look forwards to.
This Sampleset sounds amazing. I appreciate a smaller complete and concise sampleset. Just enough stops to get the job done. Our jobs as organist is to craft that matrix into whatever we play to sound the best. We often do not have 63 Célestes, 3 Grand Opheclides, 6 different Diapason/Principals and 102 flute choices and in America anyway most of the pedal is borrowed from the manuals even in newer instruments.
I'm so looking forward to this Paul! This time I'm going to be able to attend your premiere!🤗👍

Yup!! Some 16‘ easily make up for a 32‘ 😀
