Love the video. I always wet my cons before running. We have small gold, so it helps to wet it even using jet dry. I made one out of a 4-foot light fixture. My matting looks like yours, but it was matting for a toolbox drawer. 3 '' wide. Has a header shaped like yours. I control the water with a China 12-volt dc to dc speed controller. (Works GREAT). Use a 4''x3'' ss plate at the top with holes in it to dump the cons on. It slows the feed rate to drop the gold out fast. I cut 2 feet off because I never found gold near that. P.S Put a bucket under the clean up sluice to help keep dirt out of the pump if you a lot. Sure you know that.....

Nice setup, but I see one, maybe two issues, not with the equipment but with how you are feeding the material. You are feeding the material dry, which will lose gold. You will achieve better results if you make sure the material is wet before you feed it. Also adding a few drops of detergent (such as Finish Rinse Aid) to the water will help break the surface tension and stop fine gold floating. Thanks for making the video.

nice product. I'd wet the cons though as the flour gold dust here in the Fraser River would float right out. You using jet dry in that water?

Flatten out the grade of the box, slow the water down to a trickle and incorporate a '12 volt vibrator' and rheostat to move the black sands. They will migrate toward any downhill slope.
That may slow down the processing of your material, but you will get the ultra, ultra fines as well, and save time panning out the non-gold cons as a trade off.
This is a DIY 12 volt tumbler and its tumbler media. The black sands will react the same as tumbler's media in a sluice, and just as fast as seen here in this video at minute 5:16
    ruclips.net/video/lXknqxaYgPY/видео.html
Although the media in tumbler slows down in video, this is due to the adding a top that reduced/prevented vibration of the protruding rod. You won't be using one of those anyway.
Gold having over three times the specific gravity of black sands will allow you to 'balance' the vibration of box with the rheostat so gold doesn't move, but difference (In water at least) of gold and black sands can be exploited to move sands off box without losing gold.
